The Very Worst Thing - March 2nd at the Mountain Arts Center
The Very Worst Thing, the award-winning documentary film which revisits the 1958 Floyd County bus tragedy, is coming back for a special anniversary screening at the Mountain Arts Center in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, on Friday, March 2nd.
The film will feature several minutes of never-before-seen footage, including interviews with crash survivors Darwin Derossett and David Wright, both of whom were interviewed after the film's release, as well as additional interviews and pictures.
The screening begins at 7:30pm, and tickets can be purchased by calling the Mountain Arts Center at (606) 889-9125 or by visiting them online at macarts.com.
The Very Worst Thing is the documentary film which revisits the infamous 1958 Floyd County bus tragedy, which claimed 27 lives in eastern Kentucky on February 28, 1958. To this day, it remains the worst school bus accident in U.S. history.
The film features several interviews with those who were personally touched by the tragedy, including survivor Martha Burchett Marsh and Winston Dillon, who were on the bus during the accident. The film also features original pictures from the scene of the tragedy, most of which have been unseen by the general public.
It's the story about families, as well as an entire community, finding strength during the most devastating of circumstances.
