Trail E4 from Litochoro to Prionia - Mount Olympus
European route E 4 passes from north to south through Sweden from the border with Finland, with a total length of 1,590 kilometres (990 mi). The Finnish part lies entirely within Tornio in northern Finland, and is only 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) long.[1] The Swedish part traverses most of Sweden except the extreme north and the west coast region, and is commonly considered the highway backbone of Sweden, since it passes in the vicinity of many of its largest cities and through the capital Stockholm. In particular, it is the mainline road used by most vehicle traffic, both personal cars and freight trailers, between the north (Norrland) and southern Sweden or beyond.

Mount Olympus is the highest mountain in Greece. It is located about 80 km (50 mi) southwest from Thessaloniki. Mount Olympus has 52 peaks. The highest peak Mytikas, meaning nose, rises to 2,918 metres (9,573 ft).It is one of the highest peaks in Europe in terms of topographic prominence.
Olympus was notable in Greek mythology as the home of the Greek gods, on the Mytikas peak. Mount Olympus is also noted for its very rich flora with several species.

Evo videa sa uspona na mitski Olymp, sjedište bogova, a posebno moćnog Zeusa, koji se smilovao i dozvolio nam da se popnemo na ovu prekrasnu planinu.
Vozili smo se 18 sati iz Konjica, preko Višegrada, Kraljeva, Niša, Đevđelije, Soluna do Litochoro-a, mjesta podno Olympa, pa onda autom planinskim asfaltiranim putem do Prionie. Odatle kreće prava planinarska tura do doma Spilios Agapitos, kraće oznake dom A na 2100 m gdje noćimo i ujutro u 5.00 krećemo na uspon na Mitikas. Malo su nas naša dva vodića vodila malo težim putem do vrha, ali sve je to trening.
Uspinjenom se krasnim stjenovitim putem na vrh Mitikas 2918 mnv, potom i vrh Skala 866 mnv i Skolio 2911 mnv.
Emil i ja malo stranjamo i penjemo još neke pikliće okolo i vraćamo se obilaznim putem do doma i nazad do auta.
Uspon začinjavamo kupanjem u Egejskom moru. Mraka provedeno vrijeme.

Climbing at Mount Olympus from Christakis refuge to the top of Skolio & kakoskala
Our climbing to Mount Olympus from the northwest side of the mountain, through Christakis shelter. Access to the shelter is not easy, unless you have a vehicle capable for such situations, as the road is very difficult and rugged. So be careful! This side of the mountain is also spectacular, more alpine, and requires caution when it is windy as the mountain here is completely bare!! We climbed to the top of Skolio, but the weather didn't let us go to Mytikas through kakoskala. We will have that opportunity next time! ???? We were compensated at the end of the day with our swim in one of the most beautiful waterfalls of Olympus!!!

The sweat, the weariness, the cold and the fear is the bitter taste of a fine dining meal on the top.
While staring the world from the top, we understand how small we are.
How everyday problems matter little up here.
How the mountains gives us a chance to push ourselves to get to know ourselves.
The days we push ourselves beyond our comfort zone are the best days.
