Mt. Chocorua, New Hampshire
The day was oddly warm and humid for New Hampshire, with a threat of storms in the afternoon. Luckily the storms held off as the summit of this peak is bald. I ascended via the Champney Falls trail, for a round trip of 7.5 miles with 2500 feet of elevation gain. The end is a nice boulder/rock scramble. My first mountain hiked in the Whites!

One of the Most Gorgeous Views in NH (4K)- Mt Chocorua, NH [Adventures with Phi #14]
One of the Most Gorgeous Views in New Hampshire! This hike was very strenuous and is rated as borderline difficult to very difficult. I would say that it could match the Lafayette Loop even though it is not as high nor is it as long. This mountain is about 3700 feet up and typically takes people 6.5 hours, but we finished in 6hrs and 10 mins with about an hour of stopping. Ice has already formed but the weather was 47 degree F and nearly no wind. What a perfect day to hike!

Summiting Mt Chocorua The Wrong Way
We climbed Mt Chocorua, NH, on April 16, 2016, and it was simply gorgeous out. We could easily see snow-peaked Mt Washington to the north and Lake Winnipesaukee to the south. This video captures the final stages of arriving at the top via an unconventional approach and then some great panoramic views all around the peak.

5 Top-Rated Hiking Trails in New Hampshire, United States.
New Hampshire's White Mountains offer more than magnificent scenery and popular tourist attractions. They are among the nation's most loved places to hike and climb. On its way from Maine to Georgia, the Appalachian Trail crosses the state along the ridgelines of the Presidential and Franconia ranges, over the summit of Mt. Washington (the highest peak in the Northeast), and through a vast wilderness area. Spaced a day's hike apart along the trail are huts operated by the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC), where hikers can sleep and eat with fellow mountain enthusiasts. Before starting any of these trails in the mountains, get a copy of the latest AMC White Mountains Guide, be sure you have plenty of water and warm clothing in your pack, and check a weather report. Abrupt and violent weather changes are common above tree line, and snow has fallen here in all months of the year. Here five top hiking trails in New Hampshire, USA
1. Mt. Monadnock
2. Mt. Washington: Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail
3. Mt. Chocorua: Champney Falls Trail
4. Appalachian Trail across the Presidential Range
5. Franconia Notch Ridge Trail

New England Legends Podcast 67 - The Curse of Mt. Chocorua
In Episode 67 Jeff Belanger and Ray Auger hike Mt. Chocorua in the White Mountains of central New Hampshire in search of a centuries-old Native American curse based on betrayal, murder, and a horrible accident. The curse is so powerful, and has been blamed on so many tragedies, that in 1955 a politician proposed renaming the mountain in an effort to kill the legend. Beware… on Mt. Chocorua, Jeff and Ray find a connection to more than one legend.
