Comeback Kid - Step Ahead @ The Blue Hole, Budapest, Hungary 29.11.2004
14 years ago after this great show of canadian Melodic Hardcore band Comeback Kid at The Blue Hole In Budapest, Hungary 29.11.2004. Enjoy the video concert!
BIOGRAPHY:
Comeback Kid is a Canadian melodic hardcore band from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Their name comes from a headline in a newspaper about hockey player Mario Lemieux coming back to the NHL. The band was formed in 2000 by Andrew Neufeld and Jeremy Hiebert who were both members of the band Figure Four, which is currently on hiatus. They were joined by their friends Scott Wade and Kyle Profeta, but CBK was originally intended only to be a side.
Upon releasing Turn It Around on Facedown Records in 2003, Comeback Kid began touring full-time, covering most of North America as well as Europe. They also appeared on many high-profile hardcore punk festivals like Hellfest and Posi Numbers festival. Following the touring for Turn it Around, Comeback Kid entered the Blasting Room in Fort Collins, Colorado to begin recording their sophomore full length.
In February 2005 Comeback Kid released Wake the Dead, their first for Victory Records. After some long tours, vocalist Scott Wade left the band. Neufeld became the band's vocalist, and they began recording their third album Broadcasting. The release of Broadcasting was followed by more steady touring, culminating with a summer long tour supporting Rise Against in North America, and their first appearance on the Never Say Die tour in Europe with Parkway Drive. By the end of 2007 the band was to take a short hiatus. At this time bass player Kevin Call left the band on good terms, issuing a statement regarding leaving Comeback Kid.

Caravaggio's secrets. 'Salome Receives the Head of St John the Baptist' from the National Gallery,London. This is a late work by the artist, painted in the last three years of his life, perhaps in Naples where he resided from 1609 to 1610. The second version of the same luckless saint's head being dropped onto a platter held by Salome in the Madrid version.

Gloomy Sunday - The Hungarian Suicide Song
The original Gloomy Sunday, written in 1932 by Rezső Seress, was known as the Hungarian Suicide Song and blamed for more suicides than any other song in history. Read the complete article at
Lyrics (Literal Translation)
On a sad Sunday with a hundred white flowers
I was waiting for you, my dear, with a church prayer
That dream-chasing Sunday morning
The chariot of my sadness returned without you.
Ever since then, Sundays are always sad
Tears are my drink, and sorrow is my bread.
Sad Sunday.
Last Sunday, my dear, please come along,
There will even be priest, coffin, catafalque, hearse-cloth.
Even then flowers will be awaiting you, flowers and coffin.
Under blossoming (flowering in Hungarian) trees
My journey shall be the last.
My eyes will be open, so that I can see you one more time
Do not be afraid of my eyes as I am blessing you even in my death.
Last Sunday.

THOUSANDS Protest in front of the embassy of Azerbaijan 18th of September 2012
ASBAREZ.COM
PARIS—More than 2000 gathered in front of the Azerbaijan's Embassy in Paris Tuesday to protest Azeri President Aliyev's visit to France.
Earlier in the day, Aliyev met with French President Francois Hollande, who told him to work hard to restore Armenia's confidence and pursue the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group, reported the official presidential Web site.
The protesters called on the French government to press Aliyev to immediately incarcerate Ramil Safarov, the axe-murderer who killed Armenian soldier Gurgen Margaryan in 2004 during a NATO Partnership for Peace mission in Budapest.
Safarov, who was tried and found guilty, was serving a life sentence in Budapest before Hungary agreed to extradite him to Baku on August 31. Upon setting foot in Azerbaijan, Safarov was pardoned and promoted to the rank of major in the Azeri Army.
Bureau of the Armenian Cause in France (BFCA/ANC France) executive director Hratch Varjabedian reported that several French Parliament members representing the entire French political spectrum turned out for the protest and joined their voices with French-Armenian community.
The demonstration and the Armenian community's opposition to Aliyev's visit was widely covered by the French press.

Mayerling Incident
The Mayerling Incident is the series of events leading to the apparent murder-suicide of Crown Prince Rudolf of Austria (21 August 1858 – 30 January 1889) and his lover Baroness Mary Vetsera (19 March 1871 – 30 January 1889). Rudolf was the only son of Emperor Franz Josef I of Austria and Empress Elisabeth, and heir to the throne of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. Rudolf's mistress was the daughter of Baron Albin Vetsera, a diplomat at the Austrian court. The bodies of the 30-year-old Archduke and the 17-year-old baroness were discovered in the Imperial hunting lodge at Mayerling in the Vienna Woods, fifteen miles southwest of the capital, on the morning of 30 January 1889.
The death of the crown prince had momentous consequences for the course of history in the nineteenth century. It had a devastating effect on the already compromised marriage of the Imperial couple and interrupted the security inherent in the immediate line of Habsburg dynastic succession. As Rudolf had no son, the succession would pass to Franz Joseph's brother, Karl Ludwig and his issue, Archduke Franz Ferdinand. This destabilization endangered the growing reconciliation between the Austrian and the Hungarian factions of the empire, which became a catalyst of the developments that led to the assassination of the Archduke and his wife Sophie by Gavrilo Princip, a Yugoslav nationalist and ethnic Serb at Sarajevo in June 1914 and the subsequent drift into the First World War.
