Today we are visiting the museum of communism in Prague, Czech Republic.
It starts from the formation of Czechoslovakia and shows the history through the years until the country was peacefully divided and became Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The museum is one of the best representation of what communism had to offer.

Prague's Museum of Communism Walkthrough
This is a walkthrough of the Museum of Communism in the city center of Prague. Communism is an ideology that is seemingly on the rise throughout the world and this is rather alarming since communism is as bad, if not worse that nazism. This rise in a horrific ideology (communism) is thanks to groups like Antifa, BAMN and RefuseFacism. A hammer and sickle should be as abhorrent to any rational person as a swastika is. A link to my E-Book about the impacts of Nazism and Communism in the past and their unfortunate resurgence in modern times will be added to this video once finished.

Visit Prague 6 - Museum of Communism
Visit Prague 6: The Museum of Communism. In this film, we take a tour around Prague’s Museum of Communism, which covers the Communist period up to Václav Havel and the Velvet Revolution of 1989.
This is a Short from my Prague mini-documentary, Visit Prague. This series of 8 short videos covers what to see, recommendations for where to go, where to eat and drink and how to get there and get around if you have just a few days to tour the Czech capital as a tourist on a short visit.
From the narration:
For a completely different take on life in Prague and the Czechoslovakian Socialist Republic, a visit to the Museum of Communism is well worth a look.
The museum shows life in the communist era, from the aftermath of the Second World War to the end of the 1980s.
The museum has a wealth of material at its disposal. As well their own comprehensive archive, they’ve obtained exhibits from other major collections.
There’s an extensive collection of communist era artwork, including propaganda posters, and there are also recreated spaces including a reconstructed school room - the language lesson on the blackboard is Russian. There’s even a sparsely stocked communist-era shop.
The story ends with Václav Havel and the Velvet Revolution of 1989.

The greater focus is laid on the life behind the Iron Curtain: sports, living and housing, school, vacation, healt care, industrialization, secret police, religion, etc.
At the museum you find the just righ amount of information: you learn enough and you won´t get bored.

Communism is Back in the Czech Republic (2002)
Red Renaissance (2002) - The Czech Republic's fledgling democracy has already been derailed by political scandal and corruption, and disillusioned Czechs are now back to Communism.

In a busy backstreet pub in Prague, a group of young Czechs sit having a lively discussion. They are members of the budding Young Communist Party, and they express things many of their fellow countrymen are feeling: “Voters have been disappointed by the vast majority of parties. They promised things but the reality has been very different,” comments leader Zdenek Stefek. Voting for the Communist party is now seen by people as a way of punishing the Democratic parties for their corruption and lack of principles; in mid-year elections this year, the Party gained 200,000 extra votes and 40 seats in Parliament. People seem to have forgotten the terrible oppression inflicted on the Czech people at the hands of the party, when hundreds were killed, jailed and tortured.

5/26 Sunday
We had hoped to have a day at the zoo, but it turned out to be cold, grey and rainy. We walked through the city with our umbrellas ad the rest of the dampened tourists. We found the Museum of Communism, and interesting collection representing the aspirations of Karl Marx and his followers, the awful reality of Stalin, and the rejection of the Velvet Revolution: posters, propaganda, photographs and video told the story. Visitors walked silently, grimly through, the only sounds were from the creaking floorboards as everyone shuffled slowly through the rooms. This led us to visit Wenceslas Square, scene of the massive public protests of the nineties. Then we headed back to the main square, where we stopped at the Mucha Museum to see Ivan Lendl's collection, much nicer and more interesting than we expected. Mucha was a definitive designer in the Art Nouveau movement, and created designs for posters, jewelry, postcards, wallpaper and currency.
We have our last Prague dinner at our favorite pub across the street from home, gnocchi and some schnitzel.
