KRAKOW (CRACOW), EXPLORING the exceptional POLISH PAINTERS ????️ MUSEUM, POLAND
SUBSCRIBE: - Here's my review of the exceptional Polish Painters Museum located in the center of the beautiful city of Krakow in Poland. The gallery is divided into a series of salons that take you on a tour of Polish art history. Among them are the Enlightenment Room, featuring both Polish and foreign classicists, the Michalowski Room, featuring Polish romanticism and the beginnings of nationalist art, and the Chelmonski Room, displaying Polish impressionism and the beginnings of symbolism. Some of the most famous historical paintings of local 19th-century artist Jan Matejko can be seen.

The Archaeology Museum located in the heart of the Krakow Old Town is one of the oldest institutions of this type in Poland. It was established in 1850 and has today over 500,000 items of historic heritage including some remarkable artefacts ranging from the Palaeolithic Period to modern times. GESTAPO Headquarters Pomorska Street Muzeum Krakowa (Budget Travel Poland) {Krakow, POLAND}
Budget Travel Poland #3
The Gestapo Headquarters on Pomorska Street in Krakow continue to remind visitors of the German occupation, now on the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII.
Starting in the early days of WWII in 1939, Krakow was an administrative center for the Gestapo, the police force that ruled with impunity. Pomorska Street was the jail cell where prisoners and those in the Polish Underground were tortured for information before their probable executions in concentration and death camps.
Muzeum Krakowa has created a thorough permanent exhibition, named People of Krakow in Times of Terror 1939-1945-1956, to bring attention the sufferings of ordinary citizens who fought against repressive Nazi and Communist regimes. At these headquarters are the chilling pencil etchings, still legible, of prisoners' final days.

20 Things to do in Kraków, Poland Travel Guide video transcript:
We kicked off this trip to Poland with a visit to Krakow, a city people have been telling us to visit for years and now we know why. Krakow in the summertime was wonderful! We spent our time enjoying castle views from the river side, exploring neighbourhoods covered in street art, eating some of the best pierogie of our lives, and also discovering what we think may be the best ice cream. The following is our travel guide to some of the best things to do in Krakow!
Wawel Castle is Krakow's crowning jewel, and for centuries it was the residence of the kings of Poland. You can see a mix of Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque architecture all in one place.
While in the city, we also had to walk the Royal Route, which was once the historic coronation path of Polish kings.
After visiting the basilica, we spent a bit of time walking the Main Square, which just so happens to be Europe's largest medieval town square.
And that’s it for our visit to Krakow! We hope this video gave you a few ideas of things to do around the city. If you have any other places to add to this list or any tips for fellow travellers visiting Krakow feel free to share those.
This is part of our Travel in Poland video series showcasing Polish food, Polish culture, Polish cuisine while visiting Kraków Polska.

Nativity scene (szopka) tradition in Krakow
UNESCO: Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity - 2018
URL:
Description: The Nativity Scene (szopka) tradition in Krakow is a practice originating from Christmas celebration customs focused on constructing cribs. The szopka is a lightweight construction featuring the nativity scene surrounded by representations of houses and monuments of Krakow. Other scenes are also represented depicting historical, cultural and contemporary social events. On the first Thursday of December, makers gather on Krakow Main Square to present the results of their work. The practice has important educational functions, passing on knowledge about the history of the city, its architecture and customs.

Exploring Krakow. What a history it has!
We have finally made it all the way to Poland. this is a place that I have always wanted to see. We spent a day or two exploring the city, doing walking tours (we do like a good walking tour), and eating the amazing Polish food.
There is so much history in this part of the world. we learn about it in school, and we read it in books and watch films but being there and seeing it really just gives you a new and greater understanding. We spent the day at Auschwitz-Birkenau and that just blew me away.
I really loved our time here and it is defiantly a place I would go back to time and time again.
Thanks for watching.

KRAKOW, EXPLORING the historic JEWISH CEMETERY ✡️, POLAND
SUBSCRIBE: - Let's go for a walking tour of this very historic and very spectacular Jewish cemetery located in the beautiful city of Krakow in Poland. Filmed on a Sunday (it was quiet) and very foggy morning and that made it even more spectacular.
Kraków, a southern Poland city near the border of the Czech Republic, is known for its well-preserved medieval core and Jewish quarter. Its old town – ringed by Planty Park and remnants of the city’s medieval walls – is centered on the stately, expansive Rynek Glówny (market square). This plaza is the site of the Cloth Hall, a Renaissance-era trading outpost, and St. Mary’s Basilica, a 14th-century Gothic church.
Poland is the sixth most populous member state of the European Union.[8] Poland's capital and largest metropolis is Warsaw. Other major cities include Kraków, Łódź, Wrocław, Poznań, Gdańsk, and Szczecin. Poland is bordered by the Baltic Sea, Lithuania, and Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast to the north, Belarus and Ukraine to the east, Slovakia and the Czech Republic to the south, and Germany to the west.

Kraków's excellent Rynek Underground Museum — situated directly below the Main Market Square — offers an intimate look at the city 500 years ago. In this clip, I stroll with my local guide, Anna, down a medieval street, past the remains of a series of shops.
