Netherlands Open Air Museum - Ticket Pavilion
In 2017, Mecanoo designed the new Ticket Pavilion for the Netherlands Open Air Museum. Integrated in the landscape, suited to the character of the museum, the new ticket pavilion handles the large number of visitors.
The pavilion is shaped like a boomerang, and made from a weathered steel structure with an integrated canopy. The elegant design asks for an innovative building technique. The construction is built in collaboration with the ship-building industry.

Antique Vehicle Club Klasika - Antique Car Show “Timeless Classics 2014” in Lithuania
On the 2nd of August, in Biržai, there was held a traditional exhibition of antique vehicles “Timeless “Klasika” 2014” which brought together the best, rarest and oldest cars from Lithuania and Latvia. Ever since 2008, Antique Vehicle Club “Klasika” exhibitions of historical cars has been enlivening Biržai cultural life, attracting new sponsors and inviting crowds of guests and tourists.

Already in ancient times wealthy people had the custom to keep enclosed or confined areas of various animals and birds. Such devices, called menageries, there have been since ancient times in China, ancient Rome and in other countries. It was the Grand Dukes of Lithuania and the time / as reflected in yearbooks and various historical documents.
Lithuania regained independence and improving the economic situation, in the middle of the thirties began to wonder whether in Kaunas should not set up a zoo. In neighboring countries have already acted in zoos. The main organizer of these deliberations was a naturalist professor. Tadas Ivanauskas. About the idea of the professor has a very long dreamed of.
1938 July 1, the day of 17 hours. It was officially opened Zoo. The opening came: Minister of Education, Prof.. Tonkūnas, Justice Minister Masiulis, Deputy Minister Ing.
