The Ravinia Festival is the oldest outdoor music festival in the United States,[1] with a series of outdoor concerts and performances held every summer from June to September. In Ravinia Park's first summer of 1905, it hosted the New York Philharmonic, and the prairie style Martin Theater dates from this time period. It has been the summer home of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO) since 1936.[2] Located in Highland Park, Illinois, the festival operates on the grounds of the 36 acre (150,000 m²) Ravinia Park, with a variety of outdoor and indoor performing arts facilities.
The Ravinia neighborhood, once an incorporated village before annexation in 1899, is known as Ravinia, and retained its own post office until autumn 2010. The business district on Roger Williams Ave., within walking distance from the Ravinia Festival grounds, includes neighborhood service businesses and restaurants.[3] Ravinia takes its name from the ravines found nearby along the shoreline of Lake Michigan.
For most attendees Ravinia is experienced on the 36 acre (150,000 m²) parkland and lawn. Ravinia is one of the few concert venues in the country to allow full meals to be brought in and consumed at concerts, even allowing alcoholic beverages. Accordingly, most grocery stores and specialty restaurants in and around the Highland Park area offer ready-to-eat Ravinia picnics for purchase.
The park is served by the Metra commuter railroad station Ravinia Park outside the front gate with special stops before and after concerts. (The noted British conductor Sir Thomas Beecham, who guest-conducted the CSO there in 1940, referred to Ravinia as the only railway station with a resident orchestra.[6]) Visitors get dropped off and picked up right at the front gate. Attendance often tops 600,000 annually.

The Private Bank Theatre - Chicago (Hamilton)
June 1, 2017 - Finally saw HAMILTON! Amazing production at The Private Bank Theatre. As photos are not allowed during the show I photographed the theatre itself. A few extra photos are in the mix - I toured the Theatre in August, 2016. Soundtrack: Clair De Lune. It just seemed perfect for the beautifully restored theatre. Our seats were on the Dress Circle level, Box #1. Outstanding view, worth every penny.

LaSalle Street is a major north-south street in Chicago. The portion that runs through the Chicago Loop is considered to be Chicago's financial district.
The Loop, along with the rest of downtown Chicago, is the second largest commercial business district in the United States, after New York City's Midtown Manhattan. Its financial district near LaSalle Street is home to the CME Group's Chicago Board of Trade and Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
The street was nicknamed The Canyon due to the tall, steep buildings that lie on both ends of the relatively narrow street, with the Chicago Board of Trade Building as the abrupt end of the apparent box canyon.
In Popular Culture
The street, Chicago Board of Trade Building, and 200 North LaSalle were used in the 2005 film Batman Begins and its sequel The Dark Knight, as well as in the 1999 movie Payback. The view facing south down the canyon has been used in the movies The Untouchables, Public Enemies, Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Road to Perdition. Alizée Jacotey (born 21 August 1984), known professionally as Alizée, is a French singer, dancer and voice actress. She was born and raised in Ajaccio, Corsica.
She was discovered by Mylène Farmer, following her winning performance in the talent show, Graines de Star, in 1999. While collaborating with Mylène Farmer and Laurent Boutonnat, she followed it with a series of albums that attained immense popularity by pushing the boundaries of lyrical content in mainstream popular music and imagery in her music videos, which became a fixture on NRJ, Europe 1, MTV, Virgin Radio, and many others. Throughout her career, many of her songs have been in top 25 hit lists on the record charts, including Moi... Lolita, L'Alizé, J'en ai marre!, Gourmandises, Mademoiselle Juliette, her cover version of La Isla Bonita, Parler Tout Bas, Les collines and À cause de l'automne.
According to the IFPI and SNEP, Alizée is one of the best-selling female French artists of the 21st century, and is also the singer with most exports out of France. Alizée entered the music business in 2000. She has since released six studio albums, the first two of which were composed by Laurent Boutonnat and written by Mylène Farmer. Her first album was Gourmandises, which received Platinum certification within three months of release. After its international launch in 2001, Gourmandises was a success both in France and abroad, earning Alizée the distinction of being the highest selling female French singer in 2001. The album featured her most successful single Moi... Lolita which reached number one in several countries in Europe and East Asia, in the UK the song was acclaimed by the New Musical Express who recognised it with a Single of the Week award. It became a rare example of a foreign-language song to chart highly in the UK, peaking at number 9.
Gourmandises was followed by a second studio album, Mes courants électriques, in 2003. Following its release, Alizée toured during the fall of 2003, performing in 43 concerts throughout France, Belgium and Switzerland.
Her fourth album titled Une enfant du siècle was released on 29 March 2010. In early 2011 she recorded a duet with Alain Chamfort for his new album Elle & lui.
Released in March 2013, Alizée's fifth studio album, 5 had a continuous promotion including the two first songs À cause de l'automne and Je veux bien. Later she collaborated on Olly Murs's single Dear Darlin'. Starting on 28 September, she participated in the TV show Danse avec les stars (French version of Strictly Come Dancing), which she won on 23 November 2013.
Following the success of Danse avec les Stars, Alizée had her sixth album released, just one year after the latest album, in collaboration with Pascal Obispo. The album received mixed reviews and was not successful in sales.

Neighborhood
Featuring The Whole Loaf Theater
When the kids are bored, Sharon, Lois & Bram, Elephant and Eric Nagler decide to explore what there is to do in their neighborhood.
--------------------------------------------
Sharon, Lois & Bram
Sharon, Lois & Bram is a Canadian children's musical trio composed of Sharon (Trostin) Hampson (born March 31, 1943 in Toronto), Lois Ada (Goldberg) Lilienstein (born July 10, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois), and Bramwell Bram Morrison (born December 18, 1940 in Toronto). The music group was formed in 1978 in Toronto.
--------------------------------------------
The Elephant Show
The Elephant Show features the adventures of the Canadian singing trio Sharon, Lois & Bram and Elephant (Paula Gallivan in an elephant costume). Elephant doesn't speak, but is voiced by a tuba (played by Scott Irvine), which conveys thoughts and mood by its pitch and inflection. The four are usually accompanied by a group of children and a sidekick, Eric Nagler.
Every week Sharon, Lois & Bram along with celebrated family entertainer, Eric Nagler are joined by the curious and fun-loving antics of their pachyderm pal Elephant and such renowned guest artists as: Toller Cranston, Louis Del Grande, Jayne Eastwood, Murray McLauchlan, Chuck Mangione, Andrea Martin, The Nylons and Jan Rubes.
Almost every episode contains a concert segment, featuring Sharon, Lois & Bram and Eric and the Mammoth Band. They sing songs and help children with their problems (including arguments, fear and the failure of plans). In most episodes, the group travels to a new location (such as a zoo, hospital, or museum). They occasionally stay home and have an adventure in their yard (like building a tree fort and encountering a grumpy neighbour). The show occasionally includes a social lesson (such as a pro-UNICEF discussion). Sharon, Lois and Bram appeared in advertisements during the show's original run, encouraging parents to vaccinate their children against polio, rubella and mumps. Each episode concludes with the song Skinnamarink.
--------------------------------------------
Eric Nagler
Initially, Nagler was a folk musician in the United States, and in 1966 he marched through Mississippi with Martin Luther King Jr., encouraging people to register to vote.[1] He married fellow musician Martha Beers in 1966 and due to their opposition to the Vietnam War they moved to Toronto in 1968, Nagler as a conscientious objector to the war. In 1972, Nagler returned to the United States to stand trial for draft evasion; he was acquitted.[1] Around 1971, Eric and Martha owned a guitar/folk-music store on Avenue Road in Toronto called the Toronto Folklore Centre. The couple divorced in 1977. Nagler was remarried to Shelley McCarthy in 1985 and according to his personal website currently resides near Shelburne, an hour north of Toronto, Ontario, and home of the Annual Canadian Championship Fiddling Contest.
Nagler plays a variety of instruments, often homemade or improvised, in the skiffle style. In addition to common traditional instruments such as the banjo and fiddle, and singing, he uses simple instruments such as washboard, spoons, jaw harp, and slide whistle (and provides instructions on making them on his record Fiddle Up a Tune), together with more exotic instruments, such as the psaltery. Most unusual is his Sewerphone, made of 10 feet of ABS plastic and the agitator from a clothes washer, and functions similarly to a tuba, as described in his My Lovely Sewerphone (Come On In! 1985).
