Belgrade, Serbia: As We Travel Europe
- Belgrade Serbia: As We Travel Europe
We’ve arrived here in Belgrade, took an overnight train from Montenegro. The train arrived three hours late. And was pretty shabby too. Pretty shabby train, but we are here at least. It’s really warm outside, so we are going to find our hostel and check in, and rest for a bit. Good Morning from Belgrade! We are going to start the day here exactly the same way the locals do; with a traditional dish called Borek. What exactly is it? It’s a special type of pastry. You can have three different types of filling. So, you can have meat, plain, or cheese, and this is a plain one. Apparently you dip it in yogurt, and you just eat it like that. Let’s taste it. It’s a bit greasy. And, after this we’re going to explore the Kalemegdan Fortress.
That’s really nice. Thats really funny, we just arrived at this fortress and I thought this was public property, that this was a place that everyone could come visit, but we’ve been here for five minutes now and there has already been two security guards who have, there’s one guy who is right behind Sophia right now. I have no idea what they want, they tried to communicate with us, and I think they’re worried that we’re some kind of journalists. I don’t know what it is but they seem really cautious about us here with the camera. It’s kind of funny, it’s kind of random. I don’t know. Look at these amazing views! We are in the middle of Belgrade, we are in the center, and we are just surrounded by nature. I didn’t expect that when I thought of Belgrade. So cool. This is where the Sava and Danube rivers meet, or like a serving girl I meet in Montenegro said, “where they kiss.” I think it’s beautiful. Kalemegdan fortress park was, for many centuries, was Belgrade. It wasn’t until quite recently that they city expanded outside the city walls. Today, it is a popular place for locals to come, hang out, play chess, and relax.
Okay, that was just, crazy. We thought before, like we said, there was a few security guards that were snooping around behind us as we were filming. But, we carried on around the fortress, and there was another guy around the corner, and another guy, and about five guys in the space of a half an hour that were following us. And finally one guy came and talked to us like you saw. He thought we had some sort of gun. I don’t know what was going on. Yeah, something about the rig that he didn’t want us to have. So he made us take down all the camera gear and then there was this old lady behind us, and all I heard was “Why you bomb us, why you bomb us english, why you bomb us?” And, what the hell? We were just…Well, then I said that I wasn’t English, I was Swedish and they just changed completely, that woman and her friend. Suddenly they were friendly again. Being friendly, laughing, talking about Sweden and, it was so strange. Crazy experience, but now we have left the fortress and we are going to go The bohemian quarter.
This is a really cute bohemian quarter. So many cafes everywhere. Let’s go and have a coffee. I think this is one of the artists that used to hang out in this bohemian area, and he seems to have a lot of girls in his lap. He’s all worn down here. It’s comfy, a good place to sit. So we found this cute little cafe along the bohemian street surrounded by flower pots and a waterfall over there, and we have ordered Serbian coffee, and the waiter brought us these Serbian treats. For free! Yea, looks really good. This whole bohemian street is so cute; the cobblestones, the buildings, these cafes. It’s really beautiful I think. After coffee we are going to go walk down the main street, and maybe do some shopping as well. We are on the main shopping street and you’ll find shops selling everything here. At the moment, you also find cows. They’ve been painted by artists together with orphans. They look really cool I think. We’re sitting here in Belgrade, it’s called Cafe Question Mark, we’ve ordered a few local dishes. And some spritzer. It’s a perfect way to end the evening here in Belgrade. We’ll see you in Macedonia

Serbia 4k | Where Are You Now? | Drone Travel Video
I've been to Serbia twice now and I really enjoyed it! Belgrade's floating river clubs can give any city in the world a run for its money in terms of nightlife. Food and drinks are incredibly cheap in Serbia and you can actually afford eating in fancy restaurants. Skadrlija is an awesome bohemian street that is filled with musicians and great food. People in Serbia were super friendly all around - in cities and small villages. One day I came to a tailor asking them in English if they could fix something small, the tailor said okay and after he fixed it, he refused any kind of payment. In US I would've surely been ripped off regardless if I was a local or tourist. The nature in rural areas of Serbia were absolutely breathtaking. Tara national park and Uvac reserve were incredible. The best part? There are barely any tourists. You are not lost in masses, people aren't trying to sell you stuff and offer taxis on every corner. You can get an authentic experience. Unforfortunately, I only filmed very few parts of my trip. If you want to see extra drone and gopro footage that didn't make it to the video, check out my Instagram IGTV @justvilius.

DREAMS COME TRUE
Come with me, and we will fly together,
to a place, where we can love forever,
Take my hand, and we will see tomorrow,
only joy, and no more tears or sorrow,
A love I never knew, until I found you,
I promise that I do, believe that dreams come true.
Miracles will be, look at you and me,
heaven helped us to, believe that dreams come true.
(Instrumental Break)
In this moment, filled with deep emotion
hold me tight, you’ll feel my true devotion.
A love I never knew, until I found you,
I promise that I do, believe that dreams come true.
Miracles will be, look at you and me,
heaven helped us to, believe that dreams come true,
believe that dreams come true.
Philip caffe bar - Serbia
Very near to the main pedestrian zone, Knez Mihajlova street, you will find one of the prettiest cafes in downtown - Philip caffe. Entrance is on the corner of two quite streets, so you would be able to talk with your friends, or work on your laptop using free Wi-Fi, without any traffic noise and distracting from the street.
Philip caffe aims to become unavoidable when it comes to dancing parties and live gigs. They managed to gather groups of excellent DJ's and musicians, so that every day of the week you can find places to hang out, dance, have fun and meet people. If you like acoustic sound, modern and classical guitar sessions are something you might find interesting. Ensemble Moderato, creative virtuosos on tamburitzas, that are residents of Philip caffe, will present for you concept of World Music, emancipation and integration of heterogeneous music contents. There is also a hot night filled with the rhythm of salsa, but if you're more into same old-fashioned notes, evergreen night waits for you.

How (not) to do a Eurotrip: 3 guys 1 love (for travel)
You catch us at the Montenegro boarder control, from where we continue the journey to the capital city of Serbia – Belgrade.
Life in Serbia is chill, kababs in hand as we roll down the hill.
There’re plenty of statues too, look around and see the city view.
Then there’s you, a statue on a horse to reflect what was once believed to be true.
Riot’s round the corner, but that’s nothing new, to the local person it’s a daily view.
Though there on left stands the filming crew, see scratching his head, maybe missing couple screws.
Looking through, the camera, past him – future you.
But can I add something new, to what you have already knew.
Hear it out, church bells ringing loud, especially if you live around.
The park, where even more statues can be found.
My apologies about that, eheheh, I started writing and the words were riming. ANYWHO, the local market is plentiful full of Nutella and ummm bromantic Russian and Serbian Fridge magnets.
We went to check out the Tesla’s museum. Nooo not the car, the great Nicola Tesla. It’s deficiently a must, especially if you like anything about the modern technology and don’t know much about him… which would be disgraceful….
O forgot to mention that you can find a free parking spot in Belgrade, they even have complimentary guard dogs. Aaand we have now officially been to Serbia (otherwise it wouldn’t count).
Next, we hit the road to Budapest. Except that the Serbian-Hungarian border is a complete nightmare! We had to spend the whole night in the queue and at the border they’ve told that this is normal during summer – beware! We were not the only ones losing our shit… some drivers have already lost theirs.
However, next morning made the wait at the border totally worth it as we discover an insane bar right at the Budapest city center, the Szimpla Kert! It’s a huge, colorful bar complex, with weird and vintage decorations, covering two floors and busy with people all day long.
Given that we still had some daylight left under our belt we cycled our way to the beautiful St. Stephan’s Basilica where preparations took place for the Pope’s visit.
Here’s the Chain Bridge connecting the two sides of Budapest split by Danube River, while across the bank you can see the Hungarian Parliament Building. Pretty fancy.
The musician on the bridge was something else alright, though he didn’t like us filming for free… so we hit the bar.
The Szimpla Kert was so good that we decided to come back here again. The night and time in Budapest was well spent, we wished we could stay here longer, but the road was calling us. We made our way through Slovakia towards High Tatras mountain range.
We found ourselves a natural hot spring resort… To relax after our hard and grueling journey.
Slovenia was a good fun, but the time has came to ditch the van and travel to our last place in Europe… Uhuhhu, wewe, the city of love… Where else would three single guys go? Very pointy. At this point I should warn you that ‘the following footage contains many ceilings, please be advised.’ I mean if I needed my ceiling to be done I would definitely come here to Paris for inspiration. (That’s a compliment, by the way, for you French people).
Just now you saw the Eifel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Notre-Dame cathedral (before it got pledged over a billion dollars to rebuild the ceiling *cough*) aand Pantheon...
