MY SON HOI AN JEEP ADVENTURES | UNESCO Sanctuary Temple Tour | Vietnam Travel Vlog 077, 2017
BEST Hoi An tour 2017! My Son Sanctuary is a UNESCO site in Hoi An, central Vietnam. mỹ sơn Sanctuary is a holyland made up of temples and ruins with an incredible story to be told behind it's history - it made for a great travel vlog.
Hoi An Jeep Adventures was the greatest company to visit My Son with, it was literally the best Hoi An Tour we did after spending 3 months in Vietnam! They offer all sorts of Central Vietnam Tour options with jeeps, take a look here to see them all: or flick them an email for custom tours: tours@vietnamjeeps.com
In this travel vlog, from October 2017, we rode along with Hoi An Jeep Adventures on the half day My Son Explorer tour in the coolest war Jeep! Hoi An to My Son is less than an hour but the tour stops off at a few local stops to give you a feel for the local life in Vietnam. Seeing various temple styles and seeing the ruins was great with an informative guide, Tony, which added a lot of context to the story and why/how it is a UNESCO heritage site.
If you're planning a visit, we can't recommend the Central Vietnam My Son Tour enough!

My Son Sanctuary Bike Tour - Hoi An, Vietnam
HALF-DAY BIKE TOUR IN HOI AN
Cycle the scenic countryside from Hoi An to the UNESCO World Heritage site of My Son on this half-day biking adventure.
My Son Sanctuary is a cluster of abandoned and partially ruined Hindu temples constructed between the 4th and the 14th century AD by the Cham people. As of 1999, My Son has been recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site.
The Champa Kingdom, Indianized maritime kingdom based in what is now the Central Coast of Vietnam, was eventually conquered by the Vietnamese and Khmer. Descendants of the original tribes are now scattered throughout the region, mostly along inland waterways.
Leave the ancient town of Hoi An behind, we tour off the beaten path where you'll get a chance to see the hidden highlights and enjoy genuine local interaction. Go behind the scenes and experience a side of the country few visitors encounter.

My Son Tour, Hoi An, Vietnam.
this was a neat tour. I saw the poster on the wall at the hotel I was at.. the normal things that happen here. I asked the price of the tour they said 200 thousand. which is awesome. then once the bus came and picked us up. they tour guide then says its another 150 thousand for the My Son ticket. also not bad I just wished they would say the full price at the start. it was still a very good deal. at 350 thousand. a girl on the bus didn't have enough for the tour ticket and the tour guide planned to stop at a ATM for her to get extra money. but i paid it for her... I think she was only 50 thousand short... which is like 3 bucks Canadian. I didn't like having to follow the tour guide he knew everything about everything. but really I don't remember any of the facts only that it was mostly ruined because of the AMERICAN WAR. we call it the Vietnam war. so it was a bus there and a bus back to a place to catch a boat with the free lunch on it. I loved the boat ride and pretty good food. I'd so do it again but I with no tour guide to listen too...
Top 7 Things to do in Hoi An, Vietnam
We shot this Top things to do in Hoi An, Vietnam video from what has become one of our favourite locations we've visited so far. Hoi An is simply an amazing must-visit city in Vietnam. We hope this video helps you get a glimpse into as much magic as we were able to capture during our 5 night stay in Hoi An, Vietnam.
If you're planning a trip to Vietnam, it should include a visit to Hoi An Ancient Town and you definitely need to stay from day until evening because everything changes at night. From the glowing silk lanterns to the row boats slowly drifting down the river. This little Hoi An old town is simply charming. Just be prepared for the big crowds to pack in during the evening and night time.
Remember to pick up your tickets from the ticket stations located around the Hoi An Ancient Town. Once you pay for this you can visit any 5 special attractions of your choice.
Some of the ticketed attractions we visited in Hoi An Old Town were:
1. Assembly Hall Of Fujian Chinese
Address: 46 Trần Phú, Cẩm Châu, Hội An, Quảng Nam, Vietnam
Hours: Monday - Sunday 7am–6pm
2. Japanese Covered Bridge
Address: Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai, Phường Minh An, Hội An, Quảng Nam 564010, Vietnam
3. Museum of Trade Ceramics Hoi An
80 Tran Phu St. | Minh An, Hoi An, Vietnam
Hours: Monday - Sunday 7am–6pm
You should also visit Hoi An Night Market in the Ancient Town. Cross the Hoi An bridge and you'll enter the night market. Much more enjoyable at night with all the boats running along and lanterns fully lit up. It is a very touristy area though so just be aware of the higher prices and crowds.
Chicken Rice Place (not sure if the Google marker/address is quite in the right place, but the shop name is Cơm Gà Hiền and the photos shown are correct in the map link!)
Cơm Gà Hiền
593 Hai Bà Trưng, Phường Minh An, Hội An, Quảng Nam 550000, Vietnam
If you're looking for a nice beach to relax in Hoi An has you covered.
There are 3 main beaches in Hoi An:
- An Bang Beach
- Tan Tanh Beach
- Cua Dai Beach
An Bang Beach will be the most busy so try Tan Tanh or Cua Dai if you're wanting more space to relax.
We also went to an ancient temple and UNESCO world heritage site called My Son Sanctuary to find out some of the amazing history of the Champa people who once lived in Vietnam. My Son Sanctuary is a must-visit when you're in Hoi An, Vietnam especially if you love history and ancient ruins.
The World Cultural Heritage My Son Sanctuary
Address: Duy Phú, Duy Xuyên District, Quang Nam Province, Vietnam
Hours: Monday - Sunday 6:30am–5:30pm

Trip to My Son: Hoi An Vietnam
Read about it here:
My Son is an ancient archaeological World Heritage Site. It is near Hoi An, Vietnam. Totes worth a visit. Plus you get a boat ride! Wooh!
from Hoi An to My Son by Car - Vietnam 4K Travel Channel

My Son, a former temple complex, is approx 50 km southwest of Hoi An. We wanted to see My Son, or what remained of it, with our own eyes. My Son lies hidden in the forested mountains and only accessible through a narrow valley. The Cham rulers erected their temples here. Later the place fell into oblivion.
En route from Hoi An to My Son, we follow the Thu Bồn River upstream. As the road leads to the inland, we pass paddy fields and small villages that line the road. After the road turns south, we cross the Thu B Bồn on the Câu Lâu Bridge.
In conversation with our nice guide, we also talk about the Vietnam War. We know there have been violent battles in this region. We ask you if there are memorials for the dead of the war. She is immediately ready to show us one.
The Duy Xuyên War Memorial, with the Martyrs Shrine in the center, is on our way. In a pavilion in front, she shows us a stele with the names of the mothers of fallen soldiers and of women who had hidden soldiers. The memorial stones and graves of the fallen are on the edges of the site. The well-kept facility shows us that the scars of war are not healed yet in Vietnam.
On the opposite side of the road is the Memorial to the people who sacrificed their lives for national independence and freedom.
