Visit to My Son Sanctuary in #Danang, Vietnam
Glad that a last minute decision to go for this tour that consist of Hoi An and My Son from our hotel.
You get to see the ruins of Indian Hinduism tower temples that has been conserved by the government of #Vietnam and India and also some other foreign efforts. The original and replicate bricks can be seen on the temples.
I easily get this Indiana Jones feel. Don't you think?
Need to walk from one site to another. So don't overdress.

Mỹ Sơn (Vietnamese pronunciation: [mǐˀ səːn]) is a cluster of abandoned and partially ruined Hindu temples constructed between the 4th and the 14th century AD by the kings of Champa (Chiêm Thành in Vietnamese).[1][2] The temples are dedicated to the worship of the god Shiva, known under various local names, the most important of which is Bhadresvara.
Mỹ Sơn is located near the village of Duy Phú, in the administrative district of Duy Xuyên in Quảng Nam Province in Central Vietnam, 69 km southwest of Da Nang, and approximately 10 km from the historic town of Trà Kiệu. The temples are in a valley roughly two kilometres wide that is surrounded by two mountain ranges.
From the 4th to the 14th century AD, the valley at Mỹ Sơn was a site of religious ceremony for kings of the ruling dynasties of Champa, as well as a burial place for Cham royalty and national heroes. It was closely associated with the nearby Cham cities of Indrapura (Đồng Dương) and Simhapura (Trà Kiệu). At one time, the site encompassed over 70 temples as well as numerous stele bearing historically important inscriptions in Sanskrit and Cham.[3]
Mỹ Sơn is perhaps the longest inhabited archaeological site in Indochina, but a large majority of its architecture was destroyed by US carpet bombing during a single week of the Vietnam War.[4]
The Mỹ Sơn temple complex is regarded one of the foremost Hindu temple complexes in Southeast Asia and is the foremost heritage site of this nature in Vietnam. It is often compared with other historical temple complexes in Southeast Asia, such as Borobudur of Java in Indonesia, Angkor Wat of Cambodia, Bagan of Myanmar and Ayutthaya of Thailand. As of 1999, Mỹ Sơn has been recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site. At its 23rd meeting, UNESCO accorded Mỹ Sơn this recognition pursuant to its criterion C (II), as an example of evolution and change in culture, and pursuant to its criterion C (III), as evidence of an Asian civilisation which is now extinct.

GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE (BA NA HILLS), HOI AN & MY SON SANCTUARY - VIETNAM
Week 12 & 3 MONTHS OF SOLO TRAVEL COMPLETED!
This ones a bit lengthier and took me quite a bit longer to edit, but as its a special occasion I'm fine with that. Also think it's my best one so far :)
This week was a pretty busy one, I spent a few days in Da Nang and visited Ba Na Hills & the famous Golden Bridge, which is 3,280 feet above sea level and offers amazing views from the top.
I then spent a few days in Hoi An and took a trip to the ruins of My Son Sanctuary.
Both of these places were lovely, and often overlooked by backpackers wanting to get to the main destinations, which is a bit of a shame.
Definitely recommend all of the above if you're planning on being in the country!

Exploring Monkey Mountain in Da Nang in Vietnam! (Son Tra Mountains) 2019
Watch us explore a cozy little beach city called Da Nang in Vietnam. We take a scooter tour up to Son Tra Mountains, Monkey Mountain to see the viewpoint and search for rare monkeys called Red-Shanked Douc.
- We recommend taking a tour by @freedomfreeman (no ad) who provides scooters and by preference private driver.
- You CAN take a taxi ride up to the mountain, but it will not take you on the smaller roads where you can see more monkeys. Monkeys are usually seen from. 3:00-5:00pm.
- Beware of restaurants that do no give you the menu. We stumbled upon this situation a few times..where the restaurant staff did not give the menu in hopes you will purchase expensive seafood.
- Use the grab app. for all your taxi needs. It's more affordable this way.

Trip to My Son: Hoi An Vietnam
Read about it here:
My Son is an ancient archaeological World Heritage Site. It is near Hoi An, Vietnam. Totes worth a visit. Plus you get a boat ride! Wooh!
My Son Sanctuary Temple Ruins - Things to See in Vietnam
My Son Sanctuary is a cluster of partially ruined Hindu temples constructed between the 4th and the 14th century by the kings of Champa, an ethnic group living in the area.
They were constructed to worship the god Shiva. Over 70 temples are scattered on the site, surrounded by two mountain ranges. Since 1999, My Son, has been recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site.
After the eventual fall of Champa, My Son had little purpose and was basically forgotten – only to be rediscovered in the late 1800’s.
While in Hoi An, I took a trip over there to explore the place.

Vietnam Travel Vlog 4 | My Son ruins Vietnam, Incredible Ancient temple ruins just outside Hoi An
Vietnam Travel Vlog number 4, My Son Ruins in Vietnam, South East Asia.
Today we went to the Unesco World Heritage Hindu ruin, which is only an hour's scooter trip from Hoi An. Although it's a pretty crazy drive there, it's definitely worth it, the ruins are incredible and a lot less busy than Angkor Wat, although obviously not as legendary!
The ruins date from the 4th to 13th centuries and owe their spiritual origin to the Hinduism of India.

My Son Early Morning Tour from Hoi An in Vietnam
This video is about our My Son Early Morning Tour from Hoi An in Vietnam.
My Son dates back to the 3rd century and the Cham people who arrived from Java in Indonesia. The site prospered until the 15th century when local wars with the Vietnam moved the Cham people away from My Son. My Son is a group of Hindu temples, mostly in ruins, dedicated to the God Shiva.
During the Vietnam War the Americans bombed most of the site within 1 week. What was left the Viet Cong destroyed as they used the site for the military base.
The site was rediscovered in 1898 and excavations and renovations commenced from 1903.
Since 1999 it has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Countries such as Italy, india and Poland have been assisting in renovating each group on ruins.
We travelled with Bee Bee Travel for an early morning tour from Hoi An.
