TOKYO EYE 2020 - Kichijoji - The No. 1 Place to Live in Tokyo [1080p]
This popular neighborhood has cool cafes, bars and eateries, great shopping, and one of Tokyo's best public parks. This time, we'll find out what makes Kichijoji so appealing.
Inokashira Park
This large public park in Kichijoji celebrates its centennial in 2017. With its famous pond, historical shrine and zoo, the park is an important part of Kichijoji life. On weekends, it holds regular festivals with arts, crafts and live performers.
Kooriya Peace
A popular shop dedicated to kakigori, Japanese shaved ice. Its special syrups, which use in-season fruit, and light, fluffy ice, make it so popular it requires reservations.
Hammock Cafe Mahika Mano
A cafe that doubles as a hammock showroom. Guests can literally hang out on five different styles of hammock while enjoying desserts and drinks.
Majerca
A shop full of cute, colorful odds and ends found on Nakamichi Dori. All of the items are created by people from around Japan with mental or physical disabilities, who display unique design sensibilities.
Tsukemono Bar 4328 (Shimizuya)
This Japanese pickle (tsukemono) purveyor dates back to 1945, and now also serves as a bar. By day, it sells tsukemono, and by night, it transforms into a small standing bar, where guests can chomp on tsukemono while having a drink.
Hamoniku
A standing grilled meat (yakiniku) eatery that opened in 2017, where pork and beef slices can be ordered by the slice, making it easy to visit in small groups or even alone. Carries over 25 different cuts of beef meat.

Exploring Fuchu, Japan
Exploring Fuchu, Japan on my day off. I came across Fuchu-No-Mori Park and fell in love with the beautiful scenery. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
The shot of Mt. Fuji in the beginning isn't in Fuchu--it is from when we were on the bullet train traveling to Fuchu.
What I loved about Japan || Travel || Japan Sightseeing || Daiso tour
Hello and welcome (back) to my channel!
Today’s video is about my trip to Japan, what I noticed there, a little Daiso tour and we also visit the Tokyo Trick Art Museum (totally recommend going there, it was a lot of fun).
Further things, which I noticed, but are not mentioned in the video:
- Japanese people are super polite and kind, helping you wherever they can (at least that’s what I’ve experienced during my whole trip)
- It was super clean everywhere: no litter/garbage on the streets (although there were no bins anywhere as everyone takes their garbage home), no one was smoking (so there were also no cigarette butts on the streets)
- Ok, so the public high tech toilets are mentioned in the video, but these were as well always clean, there was also soap provided, only a few public rest rooms had no (paper)towels or hand dryers, as many Japanese people have a little towel with them (at least I saw some women having one with them in their bags for such situations)
- Everything is super cute (“kawaii”) e.g. all the advertisements everywhere, TV shows, most packaging etc.
- Most pedestrian lights have either a special melody when turning green or making a “pew pew” sound, which was sooo cute and funny
- Free water and refreshing towels were provided at all restaurants
- Compatible transportation cards: My Japan journey started in Fukuoka, where I got a Hayakaken card for public transport, which I could also use in Tokyo (same goes for the Pasmo or Suica card which are available in Tokyo, this compatibility wasn’t the case a few years ago, when you had to get another transport card for different cities)
- It was not always clear whether the prices in the shops were given with or without taxes; most of the time, the tax was not included, so don’t be surprised to suddenly see a 10% higher priced when paying. Only in a few shops, the final price was the one given on the product
- Make sure you have a translation app as not everyone speaks English (or if you see a high tech toilet for the first time and have no idea how to use it as all buttons are in Japanese, google translator is very handy)
- Eating vegetarian or vegan is difficult to almost impossible in Japan (at least that was my experience as some places didn’t even offer a simple salad etc. without meat)
- You don’t necessarily need a pocket wifi as almost all malls/cafes/restaurants have free wifi
More videos are coming soon!

Japan Tokyo Travel Vlog | Ghibli Museum Mikata | Shimokitazawa | Kichijoji shopping | 日本 東京
Shimokitazawa is a perfect place to go for a good variety of second hand, vintage and thrifting clothing. You may also find handmade and unique pieces by some original brands here.
Not only is shimokitazama well-known for cheap vintage second hand fashion, you can also find tons of options for cool cafes here, with good food for fairly cheap price.
Kichijoji is an ideal neighborhood for a leisure walk around, since unlike other places, here is not packed with tourists.
I suggest to spare most of your shopping time for kichijoji, since lots of goods can be purchased for a cheaper price here.
We also visited the Ghibli museum, a little paradise for every Studio Ghibli fan. This was such a memorable experience in my life. Inside Ghibli museum, different artworks are being displayed, it feels like some sceneries are brought into real life. Make sure to purchase the ticket beforehand, they can only be reserved in advance.

Kichijoji is one of the most livable neighbourhoods in Tokyo and the little alleyways featured in this video is a perfect example of how the area provides a healthy social life to balance the hard work. Tokyo - our travel vlog
After 7 years, I went back to Japan's energetic capital city with my sister in December 2019. We explored beautiful temples, crazy neon-lit districts, and took in everything the megatropolis had to offer.
