Ecuador is one of the most diverse countries in the world though it's comparably tiny. Beside the Galapagos Islands (which is the #1 tourist destination in Ecuador) the country has a lot more to offer, therefore I focussed on La Sierra in this video which is a paradise for landscape lovers and outdoor adventurers.
Another reason to visit the Andean region is that you have the chance to dive into the local culture and get a real feeling of Ecuador. The places to see in Ecuador I focussed on in this short video are the result of my own travels along the center from north to south and are easily doable in 2 weeks time.
Things to do in Ecuador covered in this video:
01) 00:36 - Otavalo market in Otavalo
02) 01:00 - Hike the Cuicocha lake
03) 01:25 - Middle of the World, Mitad del Mundo & Quitsato in Cayambe
04) 01:48 - Quito, capital & UNESCO World Heritage
05) 02:08 - Termas de Papallacta (hot springs)
06) 02:24 - Cayambe Coca National Park
07) 02:45 - Quilotoa & Shalala viewpoint
08) 03:13 - Tren Crucero & Nariz del Diablo (Devil's nose)
09) 03:47 - Inka ruins in Ingapirca
10) 04:04 - Cuenca & it's beautiful old town

15 Best Things To Do In Guayaquil Ecuador
Many people have told us to skip Guayaquil. We read many opinions that there's not much to do here and it's not worth visiting. So we decided to settle into Ecuador's largest city to investigate.
We were pleasantly surprised to find so many awesome things to do in Guayaquil! Best things to do in Guayaquil Ecuador: We loved the stroll the Malecon 2000, the ride La Perla Ferris Wheel, climbing Cerro Santa Ana and Las Peñas, taking the pirate ship for a cruise on the River Guayas, cycling across Santay Island, eating congrejo criollo, and so much more!
So we wanted to make a video and write a blog post to show other travels that it can be worth a visit. So this video highlights what we found to the best things to do in Guayaquil. You can find all the details and directions on our associated article:

My Trip to Ecuador
My family goes to a 2017 vacation to ecuador.
I went to Guayaquil Ecuador!!!!
This Summer I went to Ecuador on a 2 week mission trip with my church's youth group. I met a lot of wonderful people who God is using to further His Kingdom in Ecuador. It was beautiful to see our group embrace everything that was put in front of them. One day we went into the city to see colonial Guayaquil. In the modern, bustling city we turned a corner and were surrounded by narrow streets and cobblestones. We visited a lighthouse which took us 444 steps to climb! It was very hot and sweaty but it was so worth it to see the view of the city and to spend time with our sister youth group G-Luz from Ecuador.

GUAYAQUIL - ECUADOR / WALKING TOUR - PART 2
The last part of my brief trip to Guayaquil. I went back to see my friends but I wish I could have stayed longer, maybe next time :)
This time we are going along the estuaries inside the city, between mangroves and a crooked bridge, and finally get some drinks in Santa Ana.
Thank you Couchsurfing Guayaquil for giving me such a great time like in the old times, that was just what I needed. I hope to see you soon!

Introduction to Ecuador 12-day Motorcycle Tour
Ecuador is one of the most geographically, culturally, and biologically diverse countries in the world. Amazing landscapes encompassing rainforests,Andean mountain ranges, coastal ranges, deserts and tropical grasslands make this South American country a haven for astonishing wildlife, stunning panoramas as well as rich anthropological and cultural sites.
This tour will take you to all of the best that continental Ecuador has to offer on this absolutely unforgettable trip.
We will visit all of the major regions of continental Ecuador - the Andes, the Coast and the Amazon Basin. We will have time to explore the major cities of Quito, Guayaquil, Loja, Manta, Esmeraldas and Cuenca, including many places declared World Heritage Sites by the United Nations. We will experience the various cuisines and cultures of Ecuador such as the creole cuisine in Esmeraldas, fresh coffee from plantations in Loja, fresh chocolate from the cacao plantations near Guayaquil and Manta and the unique cheeses made in Salinas de Guaranda.
One of the things that sets a motorcycle trip apart from other types of tourism are the scents, fragrances and aromas that you can experience while riding - you can't experience these while travelling in a bus or car. Ecuador provides you with a feast for all your senses - you will pass through brilliant fields of multi-colored roses, see wild orchids in the rainforests, smell the eucalyptus and pine forests, ripening bananas, and ride through salty mist along the shore. You'll smell the fresh, wood-oven baked bread in colonial cities.
The tour will also take you off the beaten track to explore some of the wild areas of Ecuador. It is one of the most adventurous tours that you can do, giving you access to untouched wildlife and unforgettable insight into how native Ecuadorians have lived for centuries.
