nrw-forum dusseldorf review - time has no meaning
I do a nrw-forum dusseldorf review. It is a museum in Düsseldorf Germany with lots of contemporary art. To see all this and modern and contemporary art is really a joy. In the nrw-forum. I found the atmosphere to be very calming.
Time than has no relevance. Being mindful is important.
The extensive use of slow-motions accentuates this mindfulness to place and art. It has a calming effect allowing you to actually being in the movie and feel the atmosphere of the building and the art. It gives time to questions like: What is is? Why is it there? Why is it shown this way?
This movie was shot in September 2017 in the NRW-Forum in Düsseldorf Germany.
It was a test with my, at that time, new Yi4K and the Yi stabiliser.
It is all shot in 2k7 and 60fps allowing for slow motions if need be.
All post processing, edits, color corrections and color grading is done in DavinciResolve 16
For people interested in the architecture of the building, it has an interesting history.

It will shine a light on the tumultuous history of the Tour de France, show its splendour and its more shady aspects and demonstrate how sporting events and image events are interdependent. This exhibition will interweave different narrative threads and artistic perspectives and explore the following question: how did the Tour create its mystique?

Düsseldorf is a city in western Germany known for its fashion industry and art scene. It's divided by the Rhine River, with its Altstadt (Old Town) on the east bank and modern commercial areas to the west. In the Altstadt, St. Lambertus Church and Schlossturm (Castle Tower) both date to the 13th century. Streets such as Königsallee and Schadowstrasse are lined with boutique shops.
Düsseldorf impresses with boundary-pushing architecture, zinging nightlife and an art scene to rival many higher-profile cities. It’s a posh and modern city that seems all buttoned-up business at first glance: banking, advertising, fashion and telecommunications are among the fields that have made North Rhine–Westphalia's capital one of Germany’s wealthiest cities. Yet all it takes is a few hours of bar-hopping around the Altstadt (the historical quarter along the Rhine) to realise that locals have no problem letting their hair down once they shed those Armani jackets.
The Altstadt claims fame as the ‘longest bar in the world’ but some focus has moved to Medienhafen, a redeveloped harbour area home to international avant-garde architecture. Older neighbourhoods are also evolving, including the now-hip Flingern and the vibrantly creative Unterbilk, especially along Lorettostrasse. And the new underground Wehrhahn line's six stations are an eye-catching blend of architecture, design and art.
Düsseldorf is one of the economic centers of Germany and is located along the River Rhine in the densely populated Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan area, with a population of 593,682 (31 December 2012). The city is famous for its nightlife, carnival, events, shopping and for fashion and trade fairs like the Boot Messe (one of the world's best trade fairs for boats and watersports) and Igedo (world leader in fashion). Every year, more than 4 million people visit the Kirmes fun fair which runs for 9 days in the summer.

Photo Weekend 2015 Düsseldorf Kultur | Enrica Viganò | Guido Bertero | NRW Forum | Neorealismo
At Duesseldorf Photo Weekend 2015 curator Enrica Viganò and collector Guido Bertero at the NRW Forum Düsseldorf within 'Neorrealismo Italiano' exhibtion gave short interviews with 'Kultur'.
NeoRealism - The new image in Italy 1932-1960
30.01.2015 – 19.04.2015
Although well understood in its literary and cinematographic aspects, study of photography in neorealism is still in its infancy. And yet, the most expressive and coherent moments of this great period in Italian culture were created using its own particular photographic language.
The poetry in neorealism is the result of a concentration of deeply felt ideals and historical events. These cannot be totally explained by or considered to be a spent force in the more widely held belief that a new photographic style suddenly developed at the end of the Second World War as a reaction against the dark years of fascism and due to the newly rediscovered freedom. Even though neorealism in photography effectively reached the apex of its brilliance and its maximum popularity in the 1950s, restricting this phenomenon to the post-war era is specious. But documenting reality had already found a way of creating a new direction in photographic language during the 1930s thanks to – and notwithstanding – the fascist regime.
It was the innovative and guiding definition of Zavattini and the debate between film directors and writers in the cinema that defined the boundaries within which neorealism had an impact in its application of objectivity, aiming to be informative, to teach, and to create a social conscience.
As a means of mass communication par excellence, photography then contributed to the democratisation and rebirth of a nation destroyed by war. And the very enthusiasm to build a new Italy by using plots that were not historical but stories illustrating the essence of what we are today became the driving force behind the entire project.
This book and exhibition attempt to provide an articulated and logical understanding of the period from 1932 to 1960 so that the shared experiences of mind, body, and soul may be felt through the bringing together of a variety of materials never before seen in the same context.

Dusseldorf is the capital city of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the seventh most populous city in Germany. Düsseldorf is an international business and financial centre, renowned for its fashion and trade fairs. The city is headquarters to one Fortune Global 500 and two DAX companies. Messe Düsseldorf organises nearly one fifth of premier trade shows. Düsseldorf is known for its academy of fine arts (Joseph Beuys, Emanuel Leutze, August Macke, Gerhard Richter, Sigmar Polke, and Andreas Gursky), its pioneering influence on electronic / experimental music (Kraftwerk) and its Japanese community. On the river Rhine, Düsseldorf holds Rhenish Carnival celebrations every year in February / March. Mercer's 2012 Quality of Living survey ranked Düsseldorf the sixth most livable city in the world.
Düsseldorf lies at the centre of the Lower Rhine basin, where the delta of the River Düssel flows into the Rhine. The city lies on the east side of the Rhine, except District 4 (Oberkassel, Niederkassel, Heerdt and Lörick). Across the Rhine, the city of Neuss stands on the delta of the Erft river. Düsseldorf lies southwest of the Ruhr urban area, and in the middle of the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region. Düsseldorf is built entirely on alluvium, mud, sand, clay and occasionally gravel. The highest point in Düsseldorf is the top of Sandberg in the far eastern part of the city (Hubbelrath borough) at 165 metres (541 ft). The lowest point is at the far northern end in Wittlaer borough where the Schwarzbach enters the Rhine, with an average elevation of 28 metres (92 ft).
Düsseldorf Airport, also referred to as Rhein-Ruhr Airport, is located eight kilometres (5.0 miles) from the city centre and can easily be reached by train or the S-Bahn urban railway. The city is a major hub in the Deutsche Bahn (DB) railway network. More than 1,000 trains stop in Düsseldorf daily. Düsseldorf Central Station at Konrad-Adenauer-Platz is located in Düsseldorf-Stadtmitte.

The Museum Kunstpalast, which was redesigned by Oswald Matthias Ungers and opened in 2001, is located in the center of Düsseldorf, right on the Rhine river. Ever since it reopened, the house has gained for itself an international reputation with its high-quality exhibitions, such as Miró, Dalí, Warhol, Caravaggio, Bonjour Russia, Diana and Actaeon and Per Kirkeby.
The permanent exhibit too, whose spectrum ranges from medieval sculptures to an outstanding assortment of Baroque graphic works up to paintings of the Düsseldorf School of Painting and Expressionism, as well as contemporary photography, is held in great esteem all over the world.
The Hentrich Glass Collection is also found in the Museum Kunstpalast, and is the most comprehensive glass collection in Europe, tracing the development of glass artistry without interruption from luxury glass objects of the pre-Roman period up to glass art from contemporary studios. The Robert Schumann Hall, a multifunctional hall offering a sophisticated program running from chamber music to cabaret, is also integrated into the museum.

Numerous galleries, museums and institutions from the Duesseldorf art and photography scene have open their doors for an entire weekend and have shown exhibitions and hold events on the theme of photography.

Was begeistert die Leute an diesem Festival?
Streit ums Photo Weekend schwelt weiter
Düsseldorf: Streit ums Photo Weekend schwelt weiter
