The Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima & Nagasaki audiobook
U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS ( - )
This is the official report, published nearly 11 months after the first and only atomic bombings in history (to date), of a group of military physicians and engineers who accompanied the initial contingent of U.S. soldiers into the destroyed cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The report presents a clinical description of the devastation, loss of life and continued suffering of the survivors that resulted from the world's first and only atomic bombings, to date. The appendix is an eyewitness account, contrasting vividly with the dispassionate sang-froid of the report itself, written by a German Jesuit priest who survived the blast at Hiroshima, and whose order assisted in rescue efforts following the catastrophic attack. This recording was completed on the 63rd anniversary of the events. (Summary by Dennis Sayers).

Japan Travel Yoshinogari Historical Park Ancient Japan...Kyushu, Saga01
The Yoshinogari Historical Park (Yoshinogari Rekishi Kōen) is a remarkable archaeological site in Saga Prefecture. The vast park covers a large settlement from the Yayoi Period (300 BC - 300 AD) where dozens of pit dwellings, elevated store houses and over 2000 tombs were excavated. It is the largest and most important Yayoi Period site in Japan, and the best place for people who want to learn about this era of Japanese history.
The settlements unearthed at Yoshinogari are believed to have been some of the largest moat surrounded villages of their time and are speculated to have been the seat of one of the earliest forms of state government discovered in Japan. Today the ancient site has been preserved with impressive reconstructed villages and visitors can explore and learn about Yayoi life and culture. The careful reconstructions include dozens of elevated store houses, pit dwellings, watchtowers, shrines and other structures, many of which can be observed from inside. Some contain tools and implements, while mannequins re-act jobs and ceremonies in others.
Of the reconstructed villages, the Minami Naikaku settlement placed at the center of the park which is one of the most important. Enclosed by moats and defensive walls, this is where the Yayoi Period kings were thought to have governed from. Nearby is an exhibition house displays tools and clothes of the Yayoi people as well as artifacts, explaining their agricultural techniques. Another section displays burial jars excavated around the site. The exhibitions include detailed English descriptions.
A short walk north is another important enclosed settlement called Kita Naikaku, which is a place for those who were involved in ancient ceremonies. Further north is another museum focusing on the ancient forest that covered the area two thousand years ago. A living center near the East Gate allows visitors to take part in hands-on activities (100 to 500 yen) such as stone carving and building a fire with a bow-drill.
Furthermore, the large park includes other recreational areas such as a sprawling open field where people can picnic and play sports, playgrounds, disc golf and miniature golf courses, and agricultural fields where flowers and various display crops are grown. There is a restaurant and souvenir shop.

Japan Trip: Movie Black Butler's filming location at Porcelain Park, Arita, Saga08
Arita, located in western Saga Prefecture, Kyushu, is a small town known for its local pottery, Aritayaki. Over 400 years ago, Toyotomi Hideyoshi brought several talented Korean craftsmen to Japan. One of these men found kaolin, the main ingredient needed to create porcelain in Arita’s Izumiyama Quarry. This lead to Arita town being the first producers of porcelain in Japan, and Akitayaki was born.
Arita Porcelain Park is a German village porcelain theme park located on the outskirts of Arita Town. Visitors can freely walk through the grounds, enjoying the gardens of the park. The jewel of the park is reproduction of the German palace “Zwinger”. Zwinger Palace has a museum within the main building where visitors can view fine European porcelain as well as the local pottery of Aritayaki.
There are workshops held in the park, allowing visitors to create and paint their own ceramic dishes. In addition there are souvenir stores, where visitors can purchase beautiful European or Aritayaki to take home.
Arita Porcelain Park is free to enter. The Zwinger Palace, however, requires a small entrance fee.

It has been designated by the government as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property. The whole neighborhood is filled with people dancing, carrying unusual palanquins, and pulling floats, while the traditional festival chants echo all around.
Japan is an island nation in the Pacific Ocean with dense cities, imperial palaces, mountainous national parks and thousands of shrines and temples. Darkest Event of History- Hiroshima & Nagasaki Atomic Bombings
Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki are one of the darkest event of History. On my recent trip to Hiroshima, I visited Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. It left me crying and heavy hearted.
There were lot of exhibits on display of post impacts of atom bombing. One such exhibit was one small video of pre and post immediate repercussions on people of Hiroshima. Looking at the clip I was really terrified, how many innocent lives were lost. How brutal was the attack. We always pray the world should be free form wars, and everyone should live happily.
In my coming vlogs I'll cover more about Hiroshima. This vlog I am showing you the movie clip, which is on display in museum and left me devastated.

Tsushima (Daemado) Island Dispute
Tsushima (Daemado) Island Dispute
-------------------------------------------------
A small minority of Koreans claim this island as belonging to Korea, although the South Korean government does not make this claim. Called Tsushima in Japanese and Daemado in Korean, this island was recorded on the Chinese history book as a territory of Japan from ancient times. This island, as Tsushima Province, has been ruled by Japanese governments since the Nara period. According to Homer Hulbert, this island was a dependent of Silla, one of the Three Kingdoms of Korea. However, according to the Korean history book Samguk Sagi written in 1145, Tsushima is ruled by the Japanese from CE 400.
In 1948, the South Korean government formally demanded that the island be ceded to South Korea based on historical claims. However, the claim was rejected by SCAP in 1949. On July 19, 1951, the South Korean government agreed that the earlier demand for Tsushima had been dropped by the Korean government with regards to the Japanese peace treaty negotiations.
In 2010, a group of 37 members of the South Korean congress formed a forum to study Korea's territorial claims to Tsushima and make outreach efforts to the public. They said that Tsushima was a part of Korean history and that the people on the island are closely related to Koreans. Yasunari Takarabe, incumbent Mayor of Tsushima rejects the Korean territorial claim: Tsushima has always been Japan. I want them to retract their wrong historical perception. It was mentioned in the Gishiwajinden as part of Wa (Japan). It has never been and cannot be a South Korean territory.
Sanguozhi, the official historical records of the Three Kingdoms period of China (220–280 A.D.) written in the third century, recorded that the island was an ancient country of Wa (Japan).
When the ancient law system Ritsuryō of Japan was established (somewhere between 645 and 701 A.D.), Tsushima Province formally became a province of Japan. Since then, Tsushima Province has been a part of Japan, except for the temporary occupation by Mongol Empire in the Mongol invasions of Japan (1274 and 1281).
The island was described by Hayashi Shihei in Sangoku Tsūran Zusetsu, which was published in 1785. It was identified as part of Japan.
Japanese mythology states that Tsushima was one of the eight original islands created by the Shinto deities Izanagi and Izanami. Archeological evidence suggests that Tsushima was already inhabited by settlers from the Japanese archipelago and Korean Peninsula from the Jōmon period to the Kofun period. The Sanguo Zhi, a Chinese historical text, describes a country called Duihai guo with a population of more than one thousand households, which is commonly identified with Tsushima. It was one of the about 30 that composed the Yamataikoku union countries. These families exerted control over Iki Island, and established trading links with Yayoi Japan. Since Tsushima had almost no land to cultivate, islanders earned their living by fishing and trading.
Beginning in the early 6th century, Tsushima was a province of Japan, known as Tsushima Province.
