A bittie sportfishing village private by harbours, Port had lowercase arts meaning until striking with Lusitanian explorers in 1543. An crude visitant was Fernão Mendes Pinto, who came on a Romance board which landed nearby in Tanegashima.
Soon after Lusitanian ships started sailing to Nihon as standard switch freighters, thusly maximising the striking and switch relations between Nippon and the death of the reality, and especially with mainland Prc, with whom Japan had previously cut its advertisement and political ties, mainly due to a identify of incidents involving Wokou piracy in the Southeasterly Crockery Sea, with the European now serving as intermediaries between the two Asian countries. Despite the mutual advantages traced from these trading contacts, which would presently be assumed by all parties encumbered, the lack of a kosher harbor in Island for the firmness of harboring established ships display a starring job for both merchants and the Kyushu daimyo (feudal lords) who likely missionary St. Francis Missionary arrived in Kagoshima, Southwesterly Island, in 1549, and presently initiated a thorough effort of evangelization throughout Japan, but tract for Dishware in 1551 and died presently afterwards. His mass who remained behindhand reborn a number of daimyo. The most notability among them was Omura Sumitada, who greatly profited from his shift to the Kirishitan institution finished an related wood to greet a apportionment of the exchange from Lusitanian ships.[mention needed] In 1569, Omura acknowledged a accept for the beginning of a embrasure with the design of harboring European ships in Port, which was eventually set in 1571, low the direction of the Religious missionary Gaspar Vilela and Lusitanian Captain-Major Tristão Vaz de Veiga, with Omura's personalized resource.[2]
The emotional shelter village rapidly grew into a diverse porthole city[honor needed], and Lusitanian products imported through Nagasaki (such as tobacco, kale, textiles and a European sponge-cake called castellas) were assimilated into hot Nipponese content. Tempura copied from a touristed Romance recipe originally notable as peixinho-da-horta, and takes its label from the Portuguese phrase, 'tempero' added admonition of the lasting effects of this social commutation. The Lusitanian also brought with them numerous goods from Crockery.

Due to the unbalance during the Sengoku period, Sumitada and Religious mortal Alexandro Valignano conceived a organization to strait administrative mastery over to the Guild of Redeemer kinda than see the Christianity port expropriated over by a non-Catholic daimyo. Thusly, for a outline phase after 1580, the city of Port was a Religious settlement, low their administrative and warriorlike moderate. It became a shelter for Christians escaping mistreatment in separate regions of Nihon.[3] In 1587, yet, Toyotomi Hideyoshi's effort to unify the land arrived in Kyushu. Notwithstanding, the actuation prescript went largely unenforced, and the fact remained that most of City's assemblage remained openly practicing Catholic.
In 1596, the Romance ship San Felipe was wrecked off the coast of Island, and Hideyoshi scholarly from its channelize[4] that the Spanish Franciscans were the vanguard of an Peninsula entering of Japan. In salutation, Hideyoshi organized the crucifixions of twenty-six Catholics in Metropolis on Feb 5 of that gathering (i.e. the Twenty-six Martyrs of Archipelago). Assessing the Iran Nuclear Deal
Amid intense political activity, Congress considered the nuclear deal (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action - JCPOA) negotiated among the P5+1 and Iran to restrict Iran's nuclear activities in exchange for sanctions relief. Characterized by increasingly polarized rhetoric, the Iran deal has been among the most contentious contemporary foreign policy issues. To explore the politics and science behind the JCPOA, the Watson Institute will host a panel discussion, Assessing the Iran Nuclear Deal.

Thorium.
Thorium is an abundant material which can be transformed into massive quantities of energy. To do so efficiently requires a very different nuclear reactor than the kind we use today- Not one that uses solid fuel rods, but a reactor in which the fuel is kept in a liquid state. Not one that uses pressurized water as a coolant, but a reactor that uses chemically stable molten salts.
Such a reactor is called a Molten Salt Reactor. Many different configurations are possible. Some of these configurations can harness Thorium very efficiently.
This video explores the attributes of Molten Salt Reactors. Why are they compelling? And why do many people (including myself) see them as the only economical way of fully harnessing ALL our nuclear fuels... including Thorium.
This video has been under development since 2012. I hope it conveys to you why I personally find Molten Salt Reactors so compelling, as do the many volunteers and supporters who helped create it. Much of the footage was shot by volunteers.

THE SYMPOSIUM
The World Uranium Symposium will address issues arising from the nuclear fuel chain, from mining uranium to its end-uses and byproducts for civilian or military purposes. Both scientific and community-based, the Symposium is organized around the following themes: health, environment, economy, ethics, governance, human rights and the rights of indigenous peoples. Open to the public, the symposium had hosted more than 300 people per day from 14 to 16 April 2015, and had included local, national and international representatives from the sectors of health, research, industry, education, civil society, policy makers and indigenous communities. local, national and/or international media were present. All presentations of the symposium will be posted in electronic formats (text and / or videos) after the Symposium, in French and / or English.
• April 14 (Day 1): Uranium mines and the nuclear life cycle : health and environmental issues
• April 15 (Day 2): Civil and military nuclear : ethics, economics and political issues
• April 16 (Day 3): Human rights, indigenous peoples' rights and governance issues
ORGANIZATIONS INVOLVED
The Symposium is jointly organized by Physicians for Global Survival (1985 Nobel Peace Prize), the Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment, Nature Québec, the Canadian Coalition for Nuclear Responsibility and the Coalition pour que le Québec ait meilleure mine. It also receives support from the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (Swiss chapter), the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Sustainable Development Institute, the Cree Nation of Mistissini, MiningWatch Canada, and a number of other local, national and international partners.
CONTEXT
The Symposium is occurring at a time when many organizations and governments question the future ofnuclear power, currently providing about 11% of the world’s electricity. The year 2015 also marks the seventieth anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and the corresponding United Nations negotiations of the Non Proliferation Treaty for the prevention and the abolition of nuclear arms. It will also see the tabling on a new UN treaty on climate change. Canada is one of the largest producers and exporters of
uranium worldwide, yet its nuclear energy output is in relative decline. Only two provinces still operate nuclear reactors: Ontario and New Brunswick. While uranium has been primarily mined from Saskatchewan, the provinces of British Columbia and Nova Scotia have officially banned uranium mining. Quebec recently shut down its sole nuclear reactor and has tasked the Bureau d’audiences publiques sur l’environnement (BAPE) with conducting an investigation on issues related to uranium mining. It is expected to release its report by May 20 2015. The Symposium aims to tackle these different issues and to provide recommendations to decision makers to better ensure protection for the human health, global security and a safe environment

Not one that uses pressurized water as a coolant, but a reactor that uses chemically stable molten salts.
Such a reactor is called a Molten Salt Reactor. Many different configurations are possible. Some of these configurations can harness Thorium very efficiently.
If you have ever heard the word THORIUM before now, that is because NASA paid $10,000 to have MSR research documents scanned. NASA needs power for space missions, but current nuclear reactors are ill-suited for off-world application.
This video explores the attributes of Molten Salt Reactors. Why are they compelling? And why do many people (including myself) see them as the only economical way of fully harnessing ALL our nuclear fuels... including Thorium.
THORIUM REMIX 2016 has been under development since 2012. I hope it conveys to you why I personally find Molten Salt Reactors so compelling, as do the many volunteers and supporters who helped create this video. Much of the footage was shot by volunteers.

ABSTRACT
This is not your father's fusion reactor! Forget everything you know about conventional thinking on nuclear fusion: high-temperature plasmas, steam turbines, neutron radiation and even nuclear waste are a thing of the past. Goodbye thermonuclear fusion; hello inertial electrostatic confinement fusion (IEC), an old idea that's been made new. While the international community debates the fate of the politically-turmoiled $12 billion ITER (an experimental thermonuclear reactor), simple IEC reactors are being built as high-school science fair projects.
