Exploring Meguro & Nakameguro Food Tokyo, Japan [VLOG] Day 8
Rainy day! We watched a bunch of movies and went out to try Jiro Ramen near our place. Tried to get there right at opening time so we wouldn't have an hour wait but there was a sign on the door and apparently were closed yesterday unexpectedly. SO we went to our other favorite place and went grocery shopping since we had to walk off all the food we ate!

Where's the river, you may wonder. Haha, you need to slide-in between the crowd of people to see it!

Cherry Blossoms at Nakameguro, Tokyo -
Join us for Japanese hanami under the beautiful cherry blossoms along the Nakameguro River in Tokyo.
Nakameguro is one of the most beautiful places to enjoy sakura season in central Tokyo. During both the daytime and nighttime, you can stroll along the Nakameguro River and enjoy trees overflowing with gorgeous cherry blossoms in both white and pink.
In addition to all of the cherry trees, Nakameguro is filled with cute shops and cafes, many of which offer special outdoor food booths during the hanami season. There are many kiosks selling cherry blossom wine and sweets, as you can see in the video.
If you want to visit Nakameguro for yourself (it's beautiful year round, not just during sakura season), just go to Nakameguro Station and check the map in the station to find the river. It's less than a five-minute walk from the station.
Happy Hanami, everyone!

【Live】Sakura at Tokyo Meguro
Looks like it's in full bloom at Meguro river. I want to film it while it's still bright and if they have illumination I will do it again, so I will take spare batteries.
Using Low Latency which has around 15 sec lag.
RULES
* Mention my name as @Rambalac or @RambalacLive if you want ask to make something closer or check other directions.
* Before asking check if you are really watching most recent live by clicking Live button.
* If you suggest direction do not use here as here for you is 5-10 sec past for me. Ask at least 10 sec before turn, or use big enough landmark like traffic lights or shop names.
For AfterLive discussions I created Discord server . Probably I will join to LiveStream voice channel during filming but why filming I will answer only into Youtube chat.
4K archive of this live event will be uploaded about same day but 1 hour video takes up to a week to be processed by Youtube to full 4K quality. So be patient and check .

Nakameguro - Tokyo 中目黒 - 4K Ultra HD
Nakameguro or Naka-Meguro, with its picturesque river, is a unique place that everyone has to come and visit at some point. A typical residential district by day, Nakameguro is by night and during the weekends, a fashionable place to have a drink and dinner with friends. It plays host to a huge range of restaurants, bars and small clubs where some Japanese indie artists come to jam.
If you are not crazy about clubbing or don’t like drinking much, make sure to visit Nakameguro during the cherry blossom period. You will definitely enjoy its stunningly beautiful river banks where you will find hundreds of cherry trees dressed in pink.
Today Nakameguro ranks as one of the “hippest” neighborhoods in Tokyo, its past has not always been so glamorous. Indeed towards the end of the World War 2, when the US dropped thousands of firebombs over Tokyo, a lot of people died after jumping into the river trying to escape the surrounding inferno. Many still believed at that time that the river was haunted and until 1980, the Nakameguro river was filled with industrial waste. Local residents wanted to be as far away as possible from the smelly, disgusting river.
It was only at the end of the 1980s that the Tokyo city council decided to clean up the place, and slowly but surely, Nakameguro and its river became a fashionable place to visit and live.

Night Cherry Blossom Viewing at the Naka-Meguro River in Japan 「
Nakameguro Sakura Festival 「
The Naka-Meguro River is one of the popular Tokyo Hanami spots. It's a different feeling viewing the sakura flowers at night.
Nakameguro Cherry Blossom by Night - Tokyo - 中目黒のさくら - 4K Ultra HD
The Nakameguro (Naka-Meguro) river and its many Sakura no longer require an introduction. In the past we’ve covered this area both by day and night. But, this year again we could not resist taking another video and sharing it with you an amazing pink night view of Nakameguro river and its Sakura!

【4K】Night Meguro in sakura
Not a vlog, no intrusive faces or talking, pure Japan only.
Meguro river in the same name city of Tokyo is well known for it's sakura. Sakura trees are going along river on both sides from Naka-Meguro station to Meguro station. But only around Naka-Meguro station there is illumination which turns sakura into something amazing after sunset. Because of so many people, roads along the river become pedestrian only and even walking is one-way.

Hanami in Nakameguro, Tokyo, Japan
2013 March 22
Today I went to a popular cherry blossom viewing (hanami) spot in Tokyo. This is a rough video I took with my phone to capture a bit of the day. Hanami is an annual occasion when many Japanese let loose and enjoy the newly warm weather and freshly blossomed trees while communing with light wine and good food in hand.
(Apologies for the poor quality.)

Nakameguro Cherry Blossoms | Tokyo Japan Vlog
Nakameguro is only 2 stops away from Shibuya, and is one of the most cherry blossom viewing (hanami) spots because of the 800 cherry trees that line a 2.2 km stretch of Meguro River, and 1 km of this is illuminated, with the lights turned on around sunset (5pm), making it a great place for hanami both in the day and at night.

Cherry Blossoms Around Tokyo: Shinjuku, Meguro, Ueno and Odaiba ★ ONLY in JAPAN #7
Let's head to Yurakucho and the Godzilla statue, Shinjuku Gyoen National Park, the Meguro River at night, Odaiba and Ueno Park for some cherry blossom viewing.
Knowing the cherry blossoms (sakura) is to know Japan itself. Their beauty comes quickly and is short lived -- falling from the tree after only 10 days. The samurai lived knowing their life would be short, and that spirit is in each cherry blossom.
Called mono no aware which is deeply rooted in Buddhism, Japanese have a strong connection to all things. The beauty felt for the sakura is deep. Mono no aware is also an important factor in how Japanese connect to manga, anime and things important to them.
In this episode, John travels around Tokyo taking in the cherry blossoms spots, investigating hanami (cherry blossom viewing and picnicking) and talk with some hanami-goers. Why is there such a big celebration for the cherry blossoms in Japan?
This show has been created and produced by John Daub. He's been living and working in Japan for over 15 years and regularly reports on an International TV Show for Japan's International Channel.
