New Florida Panther Exhibit Opens Summer 2015 at Naples Zoo
Opening Summer 2015, Naples Zoo’s Florida Panther exhibit will be the new permanent home for Uno. Uno is an approximately 2-year-old male rescued in October by FWC biologists. After surviving a shotgun blast to both the face and hindquarters, the wounded and blinded cat may have been surviving on road kill for up to six weeks before he was found. He quickly received exceptional medical care at the Animal Specialty Hospital of Florida and Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo where he began regaining weight and health. The panther was named Uno as he was the first animal treated in Lowry Park's new veterinary hospital.

Naples Zoo opens new panther exhibit
A new panther exhibit at the Naples Zoo will officially open to the public Saturday, July 18. It will serve as a rehab center for injured panthers from across South Florida and it will also help educate the public about the big cats, like Uno, who was shot in the face and is now blind.

Naples Zoo uses aerial drone to capture video images
This was the first time a drone was used for aerial photography at the Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens. The use of remote controlled drones has become more and more popular in Naples and Fort Myers, especially for aerial photography and videography.
SWFL-TV uses the latest technological advancements that include a quadcopter and a hexacopter. The 6 rotor hexacopter features a state of the art GPS navigation and autopilot system as well as a 3 axes gimbal camera mount for optimal image stabilization.
