Today, we are in Narvik and we get to ride up a small mountain to have some linken waffels! We also had really good fish, but due to time constraints during the trip, we couldn't film much of it. Sad.

SJ90 Stockholm to Narvik Artic train HD _Original Train Sounds P2
Highlights of the full journey on Swedish sleeper SJ90 (summer train) from Stockholm to Narvik crossing the Artic circle. The whole journey takes about 15 hours. The train crosses the artic circle in the middle and the vegetation and scenery changes rapidly. Easily one of the best engineered railway sections in the world is from Kiruna crossing over into Narvik, Norway where the train terminates.
Section from Kiruna to Narvik is also called the Ofotbanen or Ofoten railway constructed in 1902 to move Iron ore from Sweden to the Ice free port of Kiruna. It gains altitude and skirts the Rombakfjord (Ofoten rail ). I would also highly recommend spending a day exploring the Old Navvies road, hiking from Narvik to Katterat and back. Watching the LKAB iron ore monster trains or super efficient SJ from bottom of the valley, is an awe inspiring site.

Brand new single-ended LKAB locomotives hauling one of 15 daily 68-wagon iron ore trains from Kiruna in Sweden to Narivk port in Arctic Norway. This was taking on my recent InterRail trip from Barrow-in-Furness to the Arctic Circle, also taking in Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim, Stockholm and Copenhagen.
The locomotives develop 7,200h.p. each, the massive power necessary to haul the 8,600 tonne trains.
