Scottish Museum of Rural Life - The Reid Farmhouse, Kittochside, East Kilbride. Built in 1783 by John Reid, 6th Laird of Wester Kittochside. Occupied by James (Tenth Laird and Margaret Reid from 1957 to James' death in 1982 and by Meg until 1992 when bequeathed to the National Trust for Scotland and managed by National Museums of Scotland with the main Museum

The Museum of Rural Life at Waterperry Gardens holds a fascinating collection of exhibits illustrating the history of life in the country. It's curator is Gordon Dempster who has an encylopaedic knowledge of the stories behind the tools and gadgets.
Springtime sheep shearing
Our sheep at on the Wester Kittochside Farm at National Museum of Rural Life, East Kilbride were captured during the springtime sheep shearing. The lambs were separated from the ewes in an adjacent field which made for some very noisy sheep exchanges.

We are connected to our heritage by living examples of historical craftsmanship – and by folklore. So every Tues at 7:30pm, we're posting videos of folk tales featuring heroic craftspeople!
In mid-war UK, Dorothy Hartley travelled the country to document rural practices before they vanished. Now, storyteller Chip Colquhoun follows in her footsteps, in association with the Museum of English Rural Life.
Every Tues at 7:30pm, we’ll post a new video of traditional folklore revealing some of the craft practices that used to be widespread in the UK, but are now in decline. Craftspeople weren’t just talented makers – they were heroes & demon-slayers too!
Every so often we’ll also meet one of those living examples of craftsmanship, to see exactly how they work and live. Subscribe to be notified of our upcoming interviews with blacksmiths, clockmakers, charcoal burners & more, and your chance to question them LIVE!

I am here with my dad because we were looking around in the national museum and we were going to level five because it's my favourite number. Make sure you like and subscribe.
I'm a tween in primary school and I'm 12 years old, I'm a sweet, independent, kind and helpful person because I help my family more often. I love music because I like the sounds, the artists and more. Music is my speciality and I have a lot of artists who I love. I play three musical instruments, Trombone, Percussion and Piano/Keyboard. I play my trombone in music bands in high school. I play in Brass Group and Jazz Group, I also joined a group in Lochgelly called FYJO which it's Fife Youth Jazz Orchestra for aged 8-24 years, I've been in FYJO for 2 years now and I'm still joining it. I have other things that are my speciality but Music is definitely my favourite.
