Study Chinese in Taiwan | NTNU National Taiwan Normal University 外國人在台灣學中文|師大
One of my subscribers messaged me saying he would be coming to #Taiwan for Mandarin Chinese learning program at the National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU). It gave me the idea to drop by the University on a Saturday and find out what the foreign students in NTNU really think about studying in Taiwan. I was rather surprised and glad to find how many of them chose to stay in Taipei to work after the language learning program. I hope this video will not only provide a better understanding of the student life in #Taipei but also a reassurance for those who are uncertain about Mandarin Chinese learning in Taiwan.

Doctoral degree music student at National Taiwan Normal University wins Japanese music competition
A doctoral degree candidate in music at National Taiwan Normal University has become the first Taiwanese to win a gold medal in the string instrument category at the Osaka International Music Competition. Even more remarkable, Wang Chien-tang has never traveled outside of Taiwan for his musical studies, unlike most other Taiwanese musicians who compete in international competitions. Playing this song with a quick tempo requires one’s fingers to move quickly along these strings. This soft, soulful melody, is produced by a doctoral degree candidate in music from National Taiwan Normal University, Wang Chien-tang, who used this concerto to participate in an Osaka International Music Competition, where he won a gold medal for Taiwan.Wang Chien-tangNTNU Doctoral Degree Student I didn''t know I won first place, someone else informed me by showing me this information. And then I felt a little scared and couldn’t finish eating as I rushed to the venue to check.Wang has been playing the piano since the age of five and has continued his musical studies for some 25 years. But unlike many of his classmates, he never went abroad to study music. All of his education and training took place in Taiwan.Chen Chinn-HorngNTNU Music Studies DirectorI think one of the reasons for his success is his persistence.Chen has instructed Wang for eight years and praised him for his growing bravery as he continues his musical career and not only earns glory for Taiwan but will also undoubtedly use his experience to instruct the next generation of Taiwanese musicians.

Dr. Frank from National Taiwan Normal University visits SDSB
Dr. Yung-Hsiang Ying, Dean and Professor, College of Management and Dr. De-Wai Chou, Director and Professor, NTNU-USC DIMBA Program, College of Management from the National Taiwan Normal University visited SDSB from February 7 to February 11, 2018. Their visit was aimed at enhancing academic ties with SDSB along with exploring avenues for collaborative research.
The delegation held discussions with various faculty members to discuss collaboration and corporation between academics of the two institutions. The delegation also attended various class sessions at SDSB to understand the academic practices at SDSB. They were highly appreciative of the teaching techniques applied at SDSB and provided their own insights and experiences from their teaching career. They met with administrators of various programmes, centres and academic groups at SDSB to enhance their understanding of the institution. These exchanges provided an opportunity for valuable discussions on administrative challenges faced by both schools. We hope that this knowledge sharing exercise leads to an effective resolution of such challenges.
The guests also had a talk with the Executive MBA students discussing the macroeconomic features of East Asian economies and the role of Taiwan. The discussion also included various aspects of the global dynamics and challenges and opportunities for Asia in the context of emerging economic trends.
On February 9, China Pakistan Management Initiative in collaboration with Strategic Sector Research Centre hosted a well-attended research seminar where both guests presented their recent research ideas. The seminar concluded with an in-depth question and answer session followed by refreshments.
