A National Theater Sakura CherryBlossom In Tokyo Japanese Festival
Every year, the National Theater forecourt is a bit earlier than Somei Yoshino, with Komatsu Otome and Kayo Jindai coming to full bloom.
In addition, we carry out Sakura Festival from March 20 (Wed) to March 31 (Sun), and you can enjoy the lighted-up cherry blossoms.
This time, I took pictures of Komatsu Otome and Kamishiro.

(Otome Komatsu)
Komatsu Otome (Komatsu Otome) is a cultivar of Edhigan cherry blossoms. The scientific name is Cerasus spachiana ‘Komatsu-otome '. The flowering period is slightly earlier than that of Somee Yoshino, the petals are slightly smaller with 5 pieces, and the flower color is slightly darker and slightly pale pink. It is naming from the fact that there is a raw wood near the bronze statue of Akihito Komatsumiya in Ueno Park. Komatsu Otome is planted in the front garden of the National Theater located in Hanzomon besides Ueno Park.

In 1912, Washington DC in the US was given a gift of Somei Yoshino (refer to the Cherry Blossom Festival in the United States), and later the seed of Somei Yoshino was made by crossing this kind of Cherry with another species in the United States. A variety called Akebono was born. In 1965, this Akebono was reimported to Tokyo Metropolitan Jindai Botanical Park, but it was called America because there was already another cherry tree, Akebono, in Japan. And when this US (American name: Akebono) was grafted and raised in the Kamishiro botanical park, one flower made the flower with a feature different from US (Akebono) bloom, and AMERICA (Akebono) by Nishida Naimichi It was revealed that it was a different breed. Gin Diake Bono is registered as a new cultivar under the Seeds and Seeds Law in 1991. The name is Hayao Hayao, and the breed name is derived from the planting site and old name of the original tree. According to the Japan Flower Foundation, the varieties of cherry blossoms crossed with Somee Yoshino in the United States, which is the father of Jindaiakebono, are not wild species in the United States from the viewpoint of morphology, but Japanese cherry blossoms from Japan to the United States Yes, Jindaiakebono is considered to be a hybrid of Japanese cherry blossoms.

Chiyoda Inn
Tokyo Imperial Palace, Tokyo Dome and Science Museum are a 20 minute car ride from the Chiyoda Inn. Tsukiji Fish Market, Tokyo International Forum and National Theatre of Japan are within driving distance of the inn. Hamarikyu Gardens and Toneri Park are within a 20 minute drive from the inn. University of Tokyo is under 10 minutes away by car. Haneda Airport (HND) is a 50 minute drive away.
Kitanomaru Park、Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo 「北の丸公園」
The site of this park used to be part of Edo Castle. Now it is a public park neighboring the Imperial Palace. This park is noted for cherry blossom viewing. But the pleasure of visiting this park is not limited to it. It has some impressive facilities, such as Nippon Budokan, The National Museum of Modern Arｔ, Tokyo. It can be said that this is a kind of oasis in the middle of busy city for visitors and business persons thanks to its abundant greenery.

The Okura School of Kyogen by the Shigeyama Family (Theater Performance)
Kyogen is Japan's oldest form of theatre. It is closely associated with Noh drama and was originally performed between the acts of Noh theatre. But while Noh themes are mostly solemn, Kyogen presents a comical or satirical view of everyday situations. Orginating from the Muramachi Period of the 14th Century, the humorous stories in Kyogen theatre are derived from typical domestic quarrels and situations. The Shigeyama family has been performing Kyogen for over 400 years. During their North American tour, with shows at the Smithsonian Freer Gallery in Washington D.C. and at the University of Chicago's International House, the Okura School will perform Kaki Yamabushi (the Persimmon Theif). Kusabira (Mushrooms) and Sanbaso (Fertility, Good Harvest and New Year).

The date of establishment of the Hie Shrine is uncertain. According to one theory, Ōta Dōkan established it in 1478. Another theory identifies the Hie with the Sannō Shrine mentioned in a 1362 record of the Kumano Nachi Taisha. Tokugawa Ieyasu relocated it to the grounds of Edo Castle, and in 1604 his son Tokugawa Hidetada moved it out, so the people of Edo could worship there. The shaden was lost to the Great Fire of Meireki of 1657, and in 1659 Tokugawa Ietsuna rebuilt it at its present location. The shrine stands southwest of the castle, in the ura kimon direction according to onmyōdō. From 1871 through 1946, the Hie Shrine was officially designated one of the Kanpei-taisha, meaning that it stood in the first rank of government supported shrines. The shaden was lost again to the bombing of Tokyo during World War II. The present structure dates from 1958. The Hie Shrine possesses one National Treasure, a tachi (single-edged sword). It also holds 14 Important Cultural Assets, 13 swords and one naginata. The shrine is also one of the most popular for Japanese families to visit during the Shichi-Go-San coming-of-age festival. Tameike-Sannō Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line and Tokyo Metro Namboku Line, Kokkai-gijidō-mae Station on the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line and Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line, and Akasaka-mitsuke Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line and Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line are the closest stops to the shrine.
Hie Shrine was designated as a First Class Government Shrine before the Second World War, and was a highly respected place of worship for the people of Tokyo. The deity enshrined is Oyamakui-no-kami, the god of Mount Hie in Shiga prefecture. This deity is more commonly known as Hie-no-kami. Hie Shrine derives its name from this deity. Since the Heian Period, many branch shrines of the Hie Shrine in Shiga prefecture were built throughout Japan. The history of this Hie Shrine goes back to the beginning of the Kamakura Period when a man named Edo built a Hie Shrine for the guardian deity of his residence on grounds of the present Imperial Palace. In 1478, Ota Dokan constructed Edo Castle on the site of the present Imperial Palace. He also erected a Sanno-Hie Shrine in the compound for a guardian deity of the castle. The Shogun Ieyasu Tokugawa began ruling Japan from Edo Castle. He also became a patron of the Hie Shrine and worshipped the deity as the protector of Edo, the old name for Tokyo. The citizens of Edo also had the strongest faith in Hie Shrine, which enshrined the guardian deity of the Shogun. In 1607, the shrine was moved outside of Edo Castle to Hayabusa-cho, near the present Kokuritsu Gekijo National Theatre. This allowed the citizens of Edo to visit and worship at the shrine. In 1657, Hie Shrine and much of Edo was destroyed by fire. However, in 1659, Shogun Ietsuna Tokugawa rebuilt the shrine at its present location. The shrine buildings were constructed in the Gongen-Zukuri style with vermilion-lacquered finishings. The Gongen Zukuri style consists of a complex roof system in which the Haiden hall of worship and Honden inner sanctuary are connected. The Heiden offering hall, Haiden hall of worship, Honden inner sanctuary and Roumon gate were so magnificent that they were authorized as National Treasures. Regrettably, the shrine buildings were burnt down in the bombing of Tokyo during the Second World War, in 1945. The present shrine buildings were constructed in 1958 with contributions from numerous parishioners and worshippers.
Japanese Folk Theater | 狂言 Kyogen: ''Boshibari'' (comic theater)
Kyōgen is sometimes compared to the Italian comic form of commedia dell'arte, which developed around the same period (14th century) and likewise features stock characters. It also has parallels with the Greek satyr play, a short, comical play performed between tragedies.

Sugamo (巣鴨?) is a neighborhood in Toshima, Tokyo, Japan. Jizō-dōri (地蔵通り?), a shopping street for the older generation (the area is known as the Harajuku of the old ladies) is located here. It lies at the crossing point of the JR Yamanote railway line, and national road route Route 17.

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. An Actress and Model, Yuka Watanabe shares her very personal story of her childhood and family.
An actress and singer, Yuka Watanabe is looking for what she can tell while empathizing people that she meets through activities of teaching English and singing.
After she entered the School of Musical Theatre at Arts Educational School in England, she belonged to a choir and played and sang at various large halls and churches in Europe such as Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. At the time of graduation, she earned the prize of “the Best Singer of the Year.” She was selected as a finalist of a soprano solo section at the classical music contest, “Three Rivers Young Musician of the Year” which was held in England.
Following graduation, she entered the Vocal department at Royal Academy of Music. She sang Beethoven Symphony No.9, which was conducted by Sir Collin Davis, an internationally renowned conductor.
In Japan, she became a Hokkaido representative of Miss Universe Japan 2012 as well as a national semi-finalist, which was in the top 14. She appeared as a fashion model and a solo singer at an art show which is sponsored by Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and an event held by Hanii Ito, a designer of Hany Wedding.
She has performed two roles including the leading part in a short film of Sapporo Movie Sketch 2014 and also translated and dubbed the film into English.

Bamboo Theatre | Nature–Design Triennial
Xu Tiantian’s Bamboo Theater is a living structure in a rural Chinese village. The open-air theatre consists entirely of living bamboo stalks bent and woven into a domed shape. The structure is maintained by the villagers, who remove dead bamboo and weave in young shoots as they grow.
