Caverns at Natural Bridge, Virginia
There are over 4000 known caves in Virginia. Almost all are privately owned. The Caverns at Natural Bridge is located deep inside Buck Hill, near Natural Bridge Station in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Rockbridge County, Virginia. At over 300 feet below the surface, this is reported to be the deepest commercialized show cave in the eastern U.S. This is a living cave, meaning that it continues to be formed and shaped by geological forces. There is water in the cave, resulting in many mineral deposits; however, this cave was largely formed by fissures created by earthquakes millions of years ago. Many rooms and passages are completely dry. A man made tunnel allows visitors easy access.
Only about 40% of the cave is included in the public tour. Thanks for watching!

Caverns at Natural Bridge State park in Virginia. This is well worth the time to get the package tickets and is only a short drive down Rt 11 from The Natural Bridge itself. The tour is about an hour long and a long sleeve shirt or light jacket is recommended since you are going underground. The average Temperature inside the cavern is approximately 54 degrees but feels so nice on a hot summer day.

Virginia's gateway to the west! So much bigger and magnificent in person than any video or pics can convey. A must see if your in the Roanoke area. Hiked the Cedar Run Trail - 2 miles in an out, then over to the Natural Bridge Caverns for a tour 350 ft below the surface. Awesome experience.
