Wildest Islands of Indonesia: Series 1
The Wildest Islands of Indonesia showcases the beautiful Indonesian islands that remain a wild paradise of giant flowers and coral gardens, of dragons, tigers, giant apes and glorious birds of paradise. Fifteen percent of the entire world's species are found in this unique region. These islands not only harbour smaller animals, but also a unique species of elephant and a crab that measures almost a metre wide. This series explores the incredible wildlife of this extraordinary environment and reveals the remarkable ways in which life has been created, adapted and re-born over millions of years. These creatures have learnt to thrive and capitalise on some of the most powerful rainstorms on the planet, as well as uniquely adapt to the volcanic activity that constantly poses a threat to their existence.
4/5 Secret Worlds
From deep below the ocean surface, to the vaulted canopies of Borneo's tallest trees, discover the hidden worlds of some of the planet's most fascinating creatures.

Indonesia - A tour on the island of Flores and the Komodo National Park
The Indonesian island of Flores is one of the Lesser Sunda Islands and is 360 kilometers long and varies in width from twelve to seventy kilometers. It is an island of volcanoes, beautiful mountain lakes, grassy savannahs and even some mountain forest. The landscape has a devastating beauty. Nevertheless, Flores is one of the least visited islands of Indonesia. We make a tour on the Island and visit several hotspots like the vulcano crater lakes in the Kelimutu Nationaal park, are welcomed in the traditionall village of Tutubadha , have a boat trip in the ’17 Islands Marine Park’ and visit several traditional village like Luba and Bena.
We also visit Ringa part of Komodo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the Komodo dragon can be found in the wild, As a result of their size, these lizards dominate the ecosystems in which they live.[8] Komodo dragons hunt and ambush prey including invertebrates, birds, and mammals. It has been claimed that they have a venomous bite; there are two glands in the lower jaw which secrete several toxic proteins. Komodo dragons also occasionally attack humans.

Documentary “Land of Dragons” |
During the glaciations of the Pleistocene era, the polar icecaps increased in size, and the level of the sea fell. Some island remained isolated, while others became joined to the continent. Java was one of these. Once the glaciation was over, the sea returned to its original level, and Java once more became an island, cut off from mainland Asia. From that time on, its fauna and flora took different evolutionary roads from those of the continent. Roads which would lead to the creation of legendary creatures.
Over many generations, the local people learnt to live with the jungle and its mysterious inhabitants. From them, the European explorers received the first descriptions of the fauna of the area. The visitors’ lack of scientific knowledge would transform these explanations into fabulous tales. It would seem the most fantastic creatures dwelled in the heart of the jungle. The tree cover is so dense that in some parts barely 5% of the sunlight reaches the ground. The darkness and the thick vegetation make it almost impossible to spot the animals.

VLOG | DISCOVERING WEST SUMATRA INDONESIA
I Travelled to West Sumatra for a week, and It had been completely an adventure. Indonesia is a place with beautiful landscapes and wonderful people.
My first impression was an exquisite taste in the mouth. Indonesian people are always smiling you, greeting you and some of them even get close to you to start a conversation to know who you are, where you come from and take the photo or selfie to keep the memories.
In the other hand, nature expressions are just amazing. Sunsets in West Sumatra are always a pleasure for the eyes, and to look at the night sky from one of its amazing islands is like a trip through the space that makes you feel how small and fleeting you are.
I really hope to come back to Indonesia to know more. In a while, I can say that West Sumatra has something special, something that makes you feel that you have not had enough from there.
I am really thankful to the people that I knew on the way that certainly made me feel over welcomed.

10. Raja Ampat Islands
Located off the northwest tip of the island of New Guinea, Raja Ampat (the Four Kings) is a fast archipelago comprising over 1,500 small islands and cays. Marine surveys suggest that the marine life diversity around the Raja Ampat islands is the highest recorded on Earth making it one of the most famous dive destinations in the world. The staggering abundance of marine life is due in part to its incredibly low human population density.
9. Tanjung Puting National Park
The Tanjung Puting National Park is located on the island of Borneo in the Indonesian province of Central Kalimantan. The park is a popular ecotourism destination, with many local tour companies offering multi-day boat tours to view wildlife and visit the research centers. Wildlife include gibbons, macaques, clouded leopards, sun bears,
8. Flores Island
Lying to the east of Sumbawa and to the west of Lembata in Nusa Tenggara, the long island of Flores offers an array of natural and cultural sights. The most famous attraction in Flores is the Kelimutu volcano caldera, which has three lakes fed by volcanic gas that change color according to the amount of oxidation in the water.
7. Torajaland
Torajaland (Tana Toraja) is a highland region of South Sulawesi, home of the Toraja people. Torajans are famous for their massive peaked-roof houses known as tongkonan and spectacular but gruesome funeral rites. After a person’s death, the body is kept – often for several years – until the actual funeral ceremony, which can last for several days.
6. Bukit Lawang
Bukit Lawang is a small village situated at the eastern side of Gunung Leuser National Park about 90 kilometers northwest of Medan, the capital city of North Sumatra. A rehabilitation center for orangutans was founded here in 1973. The main purpose is to preserve the decreasing number of orangutan population due to hunting and deforestation.
5. Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park
The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park is best known for its awesome scenery of a vast, ancient volcanic crater and a host of picturesque volcanoes that have emerged from it. The park is named after two mountains, Mount Semeru, Mount Bromo and the Tengger people who inhabit the area.
4. Lombok
Lombok is often compared to its closest neighbor: Bali. The island has the same kind of beautiful beaches and volcanic scenery as Bali, with less commercialism and fewer crowds making it one of the best places to visit in Indonesia. The island’s northern area is dominated by the enormous volcano of Gunung Rinjani, and trekking at least part of the way up is the reason many tourists visit Lombok.
3. Komodo National Park
Encompassing both Rinca Island, Komodo Island and a number of smaller islets, the Komodo National Park is world famous as the habitat of the Komodo Dragons, giant carnivorous monitor lizards that can reach up to 3 meters (10 feet) in length. The reptiles roam freely over the islands, and visitors rely on experienced tour guides for sightings and to keep them safe. Komodo National Park is also famous as a world-class scuba diving destination.
2. Yogyakarta
Yogyakarta is a bustling town of some 500,000 people and the most popular tourist destination on Java, due to its proximity to the famous temples of Borobudur and Prambanan. The city itself is a center of art and education, offers some good shopping and has a wide range of tourist facilities. Yogyakarta lies in one of the most seismically active parts of Java and has thus repeatedly been struck by earthquakes and volcano eruptions. In 2006 an earthquake flattened over 300,000 houses while in 2010 the nearby volcano of Mount Merapi erupted, spewing lava over nearby villages.
1. Bali
Bali is one of the world’s most popular island destinations and one which consistently wins travel awards. The varied landscape, rugged coastlines, tropical beaches, lush rice terraces and volcanic hillsides all provide a picturesque backdrop to its colorful, deeply spiritual and unique Hindu culture. The combination of friendly people, a magnificently visual culture infused with spirituality and spectacular beaches with great surfing and diving have made Bali the most popular tourist destination in Indonesia.

Dear Friends,
Welcome to my channel Swapnil Siddha
The Bali Safari and Marine Park is the kind of place you would pester your parents to take you to when you were a kid. Although it’s located in Bali, don’t expect to find a whole lot of native Balinese inhabitants as it is filled mostly with tourist attracting animals from around the world. Here, you will find over 60 species of animals such as lions, tigers, meerkats, porcupines and the Bali Mynah, a bird that is native to Bali.
There are camel rides as well as a large open air exhibit, restaurants, live shows at the theatre and even a night safari. Basically, this is a great place to take the kids but may not be what you are after if you are looking for a more authentic Bali experience. In saying that, the park provides both education for visitors and conservation efforts, so for that we give it the official thumbs up. It is a member of the CBSG (Conservations Breeding Specialist Group) and is involved in the conservation and release of the Bali Mynah, the Sumatran Elephant and the Sumatran Tiger.
