Four Days in Reykjavík, Iceland - A Travel Guide
This is a bit of a first for this channel, it's a travel vlog that is in NO WAY theme park related! Last week Mrs Hakes and I went off to spend four days in Reykjavík, Iceland. It's a wonderful city, and we had an incredible time here. Below is a list of places we went / tour companies we used.
To save messing around with a gimbal and camera for the whole time it was entirely shot on my Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
Everything went extremely smoothly, from the flights to the transfers and the tours - it was perfect! I'll write up a full post about it all in due course, but for now - here's the vlog.

Explore Iceland's Blue Lagoon and Reykjavik || City Tour of Reykjavik
Iceland is a must-see country that has been becoming more and more popular through the years. We visited in 2013 and had an amazing time, but my video editing skills back then were awful. Our time at the Blue Lagoon and in the capital city of Reykjavik (the northernmost capital city in the world!) was too good to be stuck in a bad video, so I've redone it for you!
Join Marti from Down the Wrabbit Hole Travel as she and her husband luxuriate in the vibrant waters of the Blue Lagoon, then stroll the streets of Reykjavik finding all of the best sites: Hallgrimskirkja, the Harpa Concert and Opera Hall, the Norse Boat monument and more!

Travelling Iceland on Tour: Travel Vlog with John
You’ve followed John as he travelled through Italy and Morocco, but now we’re turning the temperature down a few notches! On this 8-day tour of Iceland operated by GJ Travel, you can join John as he explores volcanic craters, fjords, and the world-famous Golden Circle. If you’re dreaming of exploring the Land of Ice and Fire for yourself, or you just can’t get enough of John, keep watching and enjoy!
So much of Iceland’s charm lies in its incredible natural beauty. Join John as he explores the waterfalls that make this island so popular! Godafoss, the waterfalls of the Gods, are the legendary site of an ancient uprising - but today, they’re just beautiful waterfalls, and an important part of Iceland’s history.
It’s not a trip to Iceland without a dip in a hot spring or two! The natural minerals in every hot spring on the island boost skin’s appearance, and the cozy water makes for a relaxing and revitalizing end-of-day excursion. After all, you can’t explore fjords and glaciers without resting up between adventures!
Speaking of adventures, what about exploring the world-famous black sand beaches that are so iconically-Iceland? John has your back, of course, and you can follow along as he discovers icebergs, arctic wildlife, and even horseback riding along the black sand!
Iceland’s natural raw power is on full-display everywhere you turn! From massive waterfalls to powerful geysers and everything in between, watching John fall in love with Iceland is almost as good as falling in love with it yourself - almost!

Tour Iceland in 5 Days with Arctic Adventures
It doesn’t matter if you visit for a day or a year; travelling Iceland is always going to be a rewarding, exciting, life-changing experience. If you don’t have a full week on your hands, fear not! You can still experience this incredible country for yourself without missing any of the powerful waterfalls, stunning glaciers, and jaw-dropping views that make the Land of Ice and Fire famous world-wide.
If you’re looking to fit in a lot of Iceland in a shorter amount of time, travelling along the South coast is a great option. This will allow you to see Iceland’s iconic hotspots without having to travel for very long! Beginning in Reykjavik, this five-day tour with Arctic Adventures does just that, and we think you’ll agree that it more than delivers on everything you think when you think about Iceland!
Here’s the best part about Iceland: those pictures you’ve seen on Instagram, the videos you’ve watched on our channel, the ideas you have in your head about what kind of adventures you could have there? They’re all exactly what you’ll get when you visit! Begin your adventure by walking along craggy cliffs, explore 8000-year old lava caves, and climb mountains while hoping for a glimpse at the Northern Lights.
It wouldn’t be a visit to Iceland without a few hot springs, right? Thankfully, on this itinerary, you’ll find more than a few. Deildartunguhver Hot Spring, the most powerful in Europe, provides the heating for every nearby village, and standing by it is the perfect way to warm up on a chilly Icelandic day. Can’t get enough of Iceland’s natural power? Wait until you see their geysirs.
Who says Iceland isn’t a beach destination? While you likely won’t be relaxing in a bathing suit, Iceland’s beaches are unique and eye catching. Enjoy a stroll along a pebble beach, or, for a truly Icelandic experience, check out one of the country’s world-famous black sand beaches!
No matter where you go in Iceland, it takes no time at all to fall in love with the country. From the friendly locals to the heart-pounding activities to bucket-list-worthy views like the Northern Lights and ancient glaciers, there isn’t a single part of this beautiful country that won’t amaze you. If you can’t wait a second longer to plan a trip to Iceland, check out this Itinerary and others like it over at TourRadar!
