Negro Bill Canyon is a canyon in southeast Utah. It is part of the Colorado River watershed.
Its stream flows directly into the main channel of the Colorado River within Moab Canyon.
A trailhead which gives hiking access into the canyon is located directly adjacent to Utah State Route 128.
The trailhead is located about 3 miles (5 km) east of the junction of Route 128 and US Route 191. The Morning Glory Arch/Natural Bridge is located about 2.5 miles (4 km) from the trailhead and has a girth of 243 feet (74m).
The canyon was named after William Granstaff, a mixed-race cowboy, who prospected and ran cattle in the desert canyon in the late 1870s with a Canadian trapper named Frenchie.
They took joint possession of the abandoned Elk Mountain Mission fort near Moab after 1877, and each controlled part of the Spanish Valley. Granstaff fled the area in 1881 after being charged with bootlegging whiskey to the Indians.
Until the 1960s, the canyon was named 'Nigger Bill Canyon'.

Moab is known for it's arches, most of which are contained within Arches National Park. If you are looking to hike to a slightly lesser known, but equally as big and beautiful arch look no further than Corona Arch. This arch is on BLM land and is completely free to visit as opposed to the arches in Arches National Park. Also since it is on BLM Land, it is pet friendly (Just be sure to practice pack it in pack it out and leave no trace practices to keep it that way). It's a mile and a half in and mile and a half out with only 600ft of elevation gain. There are plenty of people on the trail, but it is MUCH less crowded than any of the arches in the National Park. This trail is off Utah Rt. 128 along the Colorado River and was near our campsite. The trail was difficult and required numerous crossing of the small creek flowing thur the canyon.

Part 2 Directions - Nucla to Highway 141
To continue on the Rimrocker Trail go to the City Park at (N38 15.694 W108 32.762) and head West on West 10th Avenue.
Before leaving the City Park reset your trip meter to zero - the approximated distances below are based on this.
Once you're heading West on West 10th Avenue the Rimrocker Trail makes a series of 90 degree turns before you leaving pavment again.
Turn right on County Road 2700.
Turn left at AA Road.
Turn right on County Road 2600.
Turn left at Z26 Road.
There is an important left turn at approximately 7.7 miles, where Z26 Road continues North and the Rimrocker Trail turns West onto V19 Road.
Turn left on V19 Road.
At this point, just keep to the main trail and watch for the Rimrocker Trail Blazes.
The trail will continue down into a canyon after a sharp right at approximately 15.3 miles.
At approximately 22.3 miles continue to follow the signs to the left onto a less maintained road.
At approximately 34.5 miles after leaving Nucla you should arrive at the intersection of Highway 141 and Q12 Road (N38 25.573 W108 49.39).
