Mount Everest Basecamp Trek / Holi Festival - Nepal - Intrepid Travel - GoPro 4 Silver
I joined an Everest Basecamp expedition in mid february 2015 with an organisation called Intrepid Travel.
After the hike our group could not leave Kathmandu due to an airplane crash. For that reason we didn't just experience Everest but also a real Holi festival.
Hope you enjoy my compilation.

Nepal
Nepal really is one of the most beautiful places in the world. The scenery is unbelievably breathtaking, the people beautiful and the mountains incredible. I spent 11 days trekking the Annapurna circuit including the tough climb up and over Throng La pass. I traveled with Intrepid on their Annapurna explorer tour and it was out of this world!

How to Start Everest Base Camp & The Three Passes Trek in Nepal
An introduction to the challenging Three Passes Trek (includes packing list). We hiked the Three Passes Trek independently, without a guide in May, 2018.
Well and truly rested from our amazing Annapurna experience ( we were eager to be back on the trail again; this time trekking through the Solukhumbu (or Everest) Region in Nepal.
The Three Passes Trek differs from the standard Everest Base Camp trekking route in that it encompasses three high mountain passes, Kongma La, Cho La & Renjo La.
The Three Passes Trek offers a lot more in the way of technical challenges such as, crumbling glaciers, snow drifts, higher elevations and a more physically challenging and isolated hiking trail.
With Nepal's trekking season coming to a close, we had a limited window of opportunity to start the trek. We caught the jeep from Kathmandu to Salleri to begin what would be the definitive Nepali trekking experience.

Today was a fun lighthearted day on the trek, but also exhausting. Walking for an extended period above 5000 meters takes its toll. Walking through the Himalayas is one of the most incredible experiences you'll ever have in your life. The most beautiful scenery on earth. Read our accompanying articles here

IGNITED - Exploring Nepal
Ignited is the result of a 6 week long expedition-style trekking trip in the Nepalese Himalayas. Visit us at exploring-nepal.com to find out more, or follow us on Facebook.
Just to clearify:
We are shocked to hear about the recent events in Nepal. A horrific earthquake hit both Kathmandu, the surroundings and the Everest Region. We are praying for the people in Nepal and hope that things get better quickly. At the point this film was made no one had a clue the earthquake would come, so the out-take scene with the Erdbeben feels out of place right now, we hope that it will be seen in context to the time the film was made.
Please support the people of Nepal through the terrible time they have to go through right now.
Hike to Everest Base Camp - The best way to explore Nepal
#EverestBasecamp #NepalTrekking #visitnepal2020
The best way to explore Nepal is on foot and what else could come to your mind when you hear about Nepal? Of course, it’s Everest, Everest Base Camp Trek! Trekking to the base of the world’s highest mountain is a bucket list of many and every year Third Rock Adventures makes that dream come true for many intrepid souls.
Our Everest Base Camp Trek lasts for about 11 to 12 days. You begin your wonderful adventure by flying into Tenzing Hillary Airport located in Lukla at an altitude of (2840m/9318ft). From the moment you land in Lukla, which is also known as the gateway to Everest, you will realize that you are in the company of some of the world’s highest mountains, surely a surreal feeling. The trek begins on the same day and slowly and steadily, we make our way forward passing through picturesque Sherpa settlements, the gurgling Dudh Koshi river-your constant companion and of course the numerous train of humble yaks and donkeys that share the trail with you. As the days pass into weeks, you will have seen iconic Himalayan settlements like Namche Bazaar (3440m/11286ft), Tengboche (oldest Buddhist monastery), Dingboche, Gorakshep, and others.
You will have crossed numerous scary suspension bridges, marveled at giant mountain peaks, distributed chocolates to all the kids you meet on the trail, climbed difficult mountain passes and eaten a lot of ‘DAL BHAT’! Finally, the day dawns when you raise your hands up in the air and proudly take a picture at Everest Base Camp (5365m/17,602ft). The next morning hike up to the summit of Kalapatthar and stand face to face with the mountain of your dreams-Everest.
