railroad pass trail crossing, boulder city and henderson, nevada
after seeing this recreational trail i thought to research it and it happens to be the incredibly long river mountains loop trail, taking around the river mountains range in a complete circle for 35 miles, if you think im crazy for wanting to do the entire trail on a bicycle well i guess i am because i cant live without riding a bicycle
this trail was built to have 2 trail railroad crossings that were near the edge of the blasted mountain to allow hualing anything from one valley to the next over 100 years ago
i wanted to see the train ride over the new railroad bridge but for some ridiculous reason they put a red rail flag in front of it, the bridge is 1 year old and barely had any traffic
sorry for not posting a video, life in las vegas has been a bit ridiculous, i upgraded my video editor and now im trying to find non copyright fitting music for the 2018 holiday and craft festival when i did my first show with my N scale club...if you are wondering why i don't volunteer at the museum, i signed the papers but i live more than 30 miles away and i cant always go to boulder city...and for how long it takes to work my way up to being an engineer ive been thinking to do other things and save 250$ for when to drive the locomotive for fun which i don't mind....this is the cheapest place in the united states to drive a diesel locomotive
im waiting for the Nevada southern railway museum to finish fixing the new to the collection maersk SDP40F and the SP F40PH and i really need to drive the F40PH ive been waiting my entire life to drive it ever since i was a boy in the Midwest, i love the shape of that locomotive very much
let me know if you want to see my modular freelanced N scale layout...my first layout with scenery and DCC...that video wont be as quick as you think

(ex) UPRR GP30 844 pulls the Nevada Southern tourist train towards Railroad Pass on June 17, 2012. This was taken with a Nikon P100 which as per reviews by professionals, picks up too much wind noise due to the placement of the microphones. Also, when originally uploaded, YouTube determined a shake and asked me to fix it.
Upon correcting the shake, the entire video was distorted and I had to uploaded it again. SO, when YouTube asks if you want your video fixed, think twice. Enjoy.

Hoover Dam & Tour Review - EVERYTHING You Need To Know | Nevada Travel Vlog
Nevada Travel Vlog – The Travels Of Z exploring The Hoover Dam, A major tourist attraction in Nevada after Las Vegas because of the Hoover Dam Tours. Las Vegas to Hoover Dam is a very popular day trip. It only takes 40 minutes from Las Vegas to Hoover Dam. The Hoover Dam tours are also very popular. Hoover Dam water release is one of the primary attraction of this location, lot of people do the Hoover Dam water bottle experiment or sometimes with a basketball. There are several Hoover Dam documentary on different conspiracy about Hoover Dam’s construction or that the Hoover Dam will collapse after a major earthquake. There are two Hoover Dam tour available, I prefer the Full Hoover Dam tour instead of the Powerplant tour because it longer and gives you free access to the visitors center, which is otherwise an additional $10. If you have seen videos on American History then you’ve probably seen Hoover Dam pictures or Hoover Dam Lake – Lake Mead, the largest man made reservoir in United States. Hoover Dam Bridge is also a popular attraction. Hoover Dam is also a popular Hollywood movie set. Movies like Transformers, San Andreas, and Viva Las Vegas were shot here in Hoover Dam. Fallout new Vegas hoover dam was also a very popular topic after video game Fallout added Hoover Dam as a part of two major battle location.

Hoover Dam is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between the U.S. states of Nevada and Arizona. Hoover Dam was constructed between 1931 and 1936 during the Great Depression and was dedicated on September 30, 1935, by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Originally known as Boulder Dam from 1933, it was officially renamed Hoover Dam by a joint resolution of Congress in 1947. Hoover Dam construction was the result of a massive effort involving thousands of workers, and cost over one hundred lives. The dam was named after President Herbert Hoover.
Since about 1900, the Black Canyon and nearby Boulder Canyon had been investigated for their potential to support a dam that would control floods, provide irrigation water and produce hydroelectric power. In 1928, Congress authorized the project. The winning bid to build the dam was submitted by a consortium called Six Companies, Inc., which began construction on the dam in early 1931. Such a large concrete structure had never been built before, and some of the techniques were unproven. The torrid summer weather and lack of facilities near the site also presented difficulties. Nevertheless, Six Companies turned over the dam to the federal government on March 1, 1936, more than two years ahead of schedule.
Hoover Dam impounds Lake Mead, the largest reservoir in the United States by volume (when it is full). The Hoover dam is located near Boulder City, Nevada, a municipality originally constructed for workers on the construction project, about 30 mi (48 km) southeast of Las Vegas, Nevada. The dam's generators provide power for public and private utilities in Nevada, Arizona, and California. Hoover Dam is a major tourist attraction; nearly a million people tour the dam each year. The heavily traveled U.S. Route 93 (US 93) ran along the dam's crest until October 2010, when the Hoover Dam Bypass opened.
During the years of lobbying leading up to the passage of legislation authorizing the dam in 1928, the press generally referred to the dam as Boulder Dam or as Boulder Canyon Dam, even though the proposed site had shifted to Black Canyon. The Boulder Canyon Project Act of 1928 (BCPA) never mentioned a proposed name or title for the dam. When Secretary Wilbur spoke at the ceremony starting the building of the railway between Las Vegas and the hoover dam site on September 17, 1930, he named the dam Hoover Dam, citing a tradition of naming dams after Presidents, though none had been so honored during their terms of office.

I walk around the complex and talk about what is at the location in Boulder City, Nevada. The train runs west approx five miles. Nice ride for the minimal price they charge. You can also pay to ride in the cab. They have a group that runs 7 3/4 gauge mini train on a few occasions.
