The Nevada State Capitol is the capitol building of the U.S. state of Nevada located in the state capital of Carson City at 101 North Carson Street. The building was constructed in the Neoclassical Italianate style between 1869 and 1871. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Immigration demonstration at Nevada State Capitol Building in Carson City
Hundreds peacefully demonstrated Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in front of the Nevada State Capitol Building in Carson City, Nev., protesting immigration issues, and specifically Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt's decision to join a lawsuit with 24 states challenging executive actions by President Barack Obama on immigration. The demonstrators came throughout the state of Nevada and made their plea to keep Nevada families together.

Prostitution in Nevada dates back to the mid-1800s and the discovery of the Comstock Lode. Nevada is the only state in the U.S. with legalized brothel prostitution. We speak with Madame Susan Austin of the Mustang Ranch, which became the state's first licensed brothel in 1971.

What is special about this one is that no matter where your stand the eyes follow you. Today this government building serves more as a museum and fine example of exemplary architecture. C-SPAN Cities Tour - Carson City: Carson City Mint
Learn about the history of the Carson City Mint. The Mint began pressing gold and silver coins in 1870, and created an economic boom as one of the city's largest employers. Both men and women worked at the mint, which was responsible for 50 issues of silver coins and 57 issues of gold coins until it ceased operations in 1893. Hear Nevada State Museum Curator Bob Nylen talk about the importance of the CC mint mark to coin collectors today.
