Here it is: the video that I've been saving for the last of the mainstay European-themed ones. Prague is full of old Central European surprises, such as this paternoster lift which would never pass safety standards in western culture today. Nonetheless, getting the chance to ride one of these dying breeds was quite the experience, and I'm glad I can bring you along for the rides, both proper and improper. The transformation of the former industrial complex of Dolní Vítkovice in the North Moravian city of Ostrava is without doubt the most successful revitalisation of a former factory compound in the Czech Republic. The old ironworks and coke ovens have been transformed into a modern complex including a concert hall, several museums and cafes, as well as a climbing wall. The project involved some of the country’s top architects, led by Josef Pleskot.

Trams-Streetcars in Czech 4th Largest City of Plzeň-Pilsen
Trams or streetcars are a common sight in the Czech Fourth largest city of Plzeň also known as Pilsen. The first tram or streetcar line in Plzeň started in 1899.
Plzeň has about 173,000 inhabitants which makes it the 4th largest Czech city according to population, after Prague or Praha, Brno and Ostrava.
Plzeň or Pilsen was chosen in 2010 to be the European capital of culture for the year 2015 together with the Belgian city of Mons.
The city of Plzeň has the tallest church tower in the Czech Republic at 102 meters and the second largest synagogue in Europe after the Dohany Street Synagogue in Budapest, Hungary.
That's a bit of figures and history for you in case you wanted to know a little bit more about the place in addition to watching the streetcars or trams.
