NH&I A Fall Day at New Hope, PA
Here is a video from the New Hope and Ivyland Railroad last weekend! On October 26, 2013, Railfan Thommy made a visit to the NH&I RR to see this years Fall Foliage Excursion trains from New Hope, PA to SEPTA's Warminster Station. Along with these trains, hourly excursion trains from New Hope to Lahaska we also made. NH&I's Baldwin 2-8-0 #40 operated the hourly trains, while their GP30 Diesel locomotive #2198 operated the Fall Foliage trains. I didn't film these trains alone, however. On this same day, I met up with East Coast Railroad Videos, another Youtube Channel that films trains, and filmed with him most of the day! In this video, you will see many different shots along NH&I's tracks. Including the tracks going to SEPTA's Warminster Station! So enjoy this fantastic video from Railfan Thommy! New Hope & Ivyland - North Pole Express 2018
This year, the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad offers two trainsets for passengers to ride when they see Santa. One train is pulled by a diesel locomotive, while the other is pulled by 1925-built Steam Locomotive #40. Here we'll see GP30 #2198 rolling past West Mechanic Street, and then we'll catch #40 at Lower Mountain Road.

New Hope & Ivyland: Switching Freight (in HD)
When most people think of the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad, they think of their passenger excursion trains. However, the NH&I also runs a freight operation a few days per week, usually in the Warminster, PA area. BJVP was lucky enough to be in the area one Friday morning when a crew showed up to start switching operations for the day. The engine they are using is former Canadian Pacific SD40-2 #5577 - after switching their interchange closer to Ivyland, the crew came down to the Castrol plant in Warminster to switch out some tank cars. Even though the weather was rainy, it was still cool to see this side of the NH&I operation - hopefully I can come back for more soon!
New Hope Railroad's Christmas Eve (Day) 2019
Twas the day before Christmas, and in Bucks County, PA - steam and diesel were running, pulling coaches, not a sleigh. #40 produced smoke that hung all through the air - #7010 rolled along, horn sounding with flair. The children onboard were all snug in their seats - while Santa came through to say hello and bring treats. Being trackside was fun, I hope you enjoy this display - of the New Hope Railroad on Christmas Eve....Day.
BIKING NEW HOPE
Biking the tow path between Delaware River and canal, from under the Bowman’s Tower to New Hope, PA and back for about 8 miles, on Saturday, October 10th, 2018 with Ela and Michael. Beautiful fall colors, fallen leaves, water on both sides of the path made up for a great bike ride. Biking along old factory remade into apartments overlooking the river, passing next to wing dam, now completely submerged under flooding water. In New Hope we followed the same tow path, not so long ago the mules were walking on puling barges over canal. Ducking under low bridges we bike all the way to the northern side of New Hope, all the way to Bridge Street and beyond – to old train station.

Relax and leave your cares behind as you journey into history, learning what rail travel was like for your parents, grand parents and great-grand parents. Behold the continuously changing view as the train traverses through the rolling hills and valleys of historic Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Enjoy our restored 1920s vintage passenger coaches, antique bar car, the authentic steam locomotive or one of our historic diesel locomotives. The train will take you along the same historic route that was filmed in the 1914 movie series Perils of Pauline. You can purchase your tickets in the original witch's hat New Hope train station, which was once the location of the railroad telegraph operator who sent and received all messages for the town of New Hope, PA. This building has been in operation since 1891.
Passengers for regular excursion trains may board either at New Hope or at Lahaska Station, (1 mile east of US 202 on Street Road, Lahaska, PA). Passengers may get off at either station and take a later train back to their originating station. All trains depart Lahaska Station 20 minutes past the hour. Last train of the day ends in New Hope.

On the last Sunday of October, Penn Rail Videos' takes advantage during the peak of the fall colors in the south eastern PA region. We'll be trackside along the former New Hope branch of the Reading Railroad. You'll see many different colored leaves along the railroad, as we watch #40 strut her stuff between New Hope and Lahaska. The engine crew puts on quite show for us throughout the day. The engine is sporting a brand new whistle, another creation from MD Whistles. This one is the second version of their Southern 3-chime whistle. Sounds good doesn't it?

Has a few good arcade games, one of which is out of service, and some prizes that look a little out of date as of late.
