Day trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico, and a Epic Fail in the Mountains
I go on a day trip to explore Santa Fe, New Mexico by foot. We visit the historic plaza, the Loretto Chapel and it's miraculous staircase, the St. Francis Cathedral, Artsy Canyon Road, and the oldest house in the United States. Then I get lost in the mountains looking for the Tent Rocks, and the road was closed.

The next morning we had french toast, shopped at Trader Joe's, and then went on a Mountain Bike Ride at North West of Santa Fe. The trail systems name we road was La Tierra Trails, and we entered at the La Cuchara Trailhead. Was an amazing ride. After that we drove to downtown Santa Fe where we walked around. We visited Vinyl Cafe, San Miguel Mission (the oldest church in the United State. Built in 1610), Apothecary Restaurant at Santa Fe Oxygen and Healing Bar, and Hervé Wine Bar. After that we left downtown Santa Fe, New Mexico and drove up to Ski Santa Fe in the Santa Fe National Forest to explore and do a little yoga.
We left there and drove to make dinner at camp. For dinner we made filet mignon, salmon, broccoli, and mushroom risotto.
We woke up the following morning and cooked breakfast burritos. After that we drove to White Rock, New Mexico to ride a bus to Bandelier National Monument. Ones done exploring Bandelier National Monument, we drove back to Santa Fe, New Mexico and had a beer at Santa Fé Brewing Company. Our last stop on this trip we went over to Chili Line Brewing Co. where we had a beer and dinner.

Haak Winery -- Santa Fe, Texas
Nestled along the Texas gulf coast in Galveston County, is a winery that has some great tasting Blanc du Bois and sweet red blush wines. This winery has been in business for some time and is often very lively on the weekends with events frequently scheduled on their back patio, which often include live music and an opportunity to enjoy the entertainment while meeting other wine enthusiasts. There is a generous sampling of wine related gifts and food pairing options available in their gift shop and a growing list of wines offered on their menu. Though there are both dry and sweet wines available, we found the sweets to be more of their specialty. Dessert wines are also available and should not be missed.

Albuquerque, New Mexico - Breaking Bad, Old Town, Nuclear Energy and Sandia Peak
Product: Country Bound Microfiber Towel
Today we explore Albuquerque, New Mexico. Being a Breaking Bad fan I started my day by visiting some of the show's locations, including Twister's also known as Los Pollos Hermanos, Walter Whites house, the Car Wash, and Hank's home. Then I went to Old Town, had lunch at the oldest house Church Street Cafe. Then I visited the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History, and finally took a ride on the Sandia Peak Tramway.

Timeless Vineyard Estate in Glen Ellen, California
Presented by Sotheby's International Realty - Wine Country - East Napa Street Brokerage
For more information go to
Nestled naturally into the undulating landscape of Wine Country, this estate was created over time and feels as much a part of the terrain as the trees and vineyards that surround it. Though the approx. 5,500-sq.ft. residence takes its inspiration from timeless Old World villas with warm stucco walls draped in emerald ivy, rugged barrel-tiled rooflines, Venetian plaster surfaces, decorative wrought-iron accents, regal French doors, and clerestory windows - it is decidedly contemporary, with clean modern lines found throughout the sophisticated interiors with iconic views.

Salinas Pueblo Missions - Quarai
Looking down this small valley, past the rubble mounds that were Indian pueblos, beyond the abandoned Spanish mission, across pastures that were fertile fields, one looks at the broad Estancia Valley. Quarai was one of many villages in this part of the Spanish Empire known as the Salinas Jurisdiction. Though located on a remote frontier, Quarai participated in the meeting between the expanding European culture and the far different Indian tradition.
In this valley, lie the abandoned remains of the first attempt to blend those two cultures.
Quarai was on the southeastern fringe of the Tiwa-speaking Indians who migrated through mountain canyon trails from the area of present-day Albuquerque before AD 1300. They established settlements along the eastern slope of the Manzano Mountains at Chilili, Tajique and here at Quarai. They farmed, gathered salt at the nearby saline lakes, and took advantage of their location between the Rio Grande pueblos and the Plains Indians to become traders. This hill is actually the remains of a large masonry pueblo from the 1600s.
