Exploring New Orleans, Louisiana - a Tour by Drivin' & Vibin'
We explore the city of New Orleans, Louisiana in this video. The city was bustling with spring breakers and families. We watched Dragon Master Showcase and drank some great coffee at Mammoth Espresso!
We're Kyle & Olivia - two millennials that decided we'd rather travel fulltime in our vintage camper than work endless jobs in the service industry. After a year of planning, we began our nomadic journey in September 2015.
Taste New Orleans' Hangover Cure
Partied too hard in New Orleans last night? Of course you did. Fear not, with one quick call to Ms. Linda, help will soon be on the way. She’ll mix up her mother’s secret recipe for Ya-Ka-Mein—a noodle soup that blends Asian and African cuisines that soothes the stomach and suspends the pain. When Ms. Linda lost her job as a school cafeteria technician after Hurricane Katrina, she turned to Ya-Ka-Mein to keep her afloat, selling it at festivals and winning awards for her delicious cooking. So pick up that phone and call—no matter how impossible that might feel.

Crazy 'bout Crawfish & Homemade Gumbo outside New Orleans
On this Airstream Life vLog, we leave our Harvest Host, Bayou Teche Brewing on a cold morning. First, we chat about whether we think Harvest Host would work for people who do not drink. While many of the locations are breweries and wineries there are also a lot of farms and museums that host campers. Even the breweries and wineries normally have other things you can buy/try besides alcohol including food and gift shop items. Lastly, you can always pay for the upgrade which includes golf courses as well! So even if you don't drink Harvest Host might be something to consider.
On our way to New Orleans, we stop to get some lunch at Crazy 'Bout Crawfish a local seafood restaurant recommended by Lynn & Phil. OMG! This place was delicious! We both very much recommend stopping as it is right off of I-10, has a super local vibe, and amazing seafood!
Then it's back on the road towards New Orleans. After a lovely drive including some sunshine, we settle into our spot at Fairview-RIverside State Park. It's beautiful here! The Spanish moss swaying from the trees by the river on our walk was a perfect welcome to the area.
After setting up we decided to try our hand at making our own homemade gumbo from scratch. I think we did a pretty good job. Just look at the color of that roux! What do you think?
Stay tuned for some swampy explorations in the next video :)

The Court of Two Sisters - AlliedPRA New Orleans
The Court of Two Sisters is named for Emma and Bertha Camors, sisters who once owned a notions and fancies shop here, and 613 Royal Street has a long and interesting history.
The lovely three-story building sits on Governor's Row, the 600 block of Royal Street that was once home to five governors, two state Supreme Court justices, a future justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, and a future President of the United States. 613's own resident was Sieur Etienne de Perier, the royal governor of colonial Louisiana between 1726 and 1733.
The Court of Two Sisters is known for it's daily Jazz Brunch, and what better way to enjoy an afternoon in the French Quarter than a leisurely brunch in the beautiful courtyard.
