Central Park Tour (New York)
Before heading home we took a tour of the famous Central Park in the heart of Manhattan on a 1 hrs bicycle tour. It was fast and convenient, however, the tour was slightly quicker and didn't have time to see everything. Would not recommend for future tourist to take the bike tour. We only got chance to visit the Baltom, Bethesda Fountain, and Minton Tile Ceiling at Bethesda Terrace and many mores.

Take Me To New York City
New York city City (NYC) is the densest city in the United States with regards of its population. In 2018, its population was estimated to be around 8,398,748 over an area of 302.6 square miles, this is equivalent to 27,718 people in just one square mile. Its skyline continues to grow with many new buildings currently under construction. There is a ton of things to do here. We bought the city pass which gave us access to 6 attractions including observatories such as the empire state building and top of the rock which has a great view of the city and central park, the pass also includes great museums in which you will spend countless hours with many interesting things to see. I recommend visiting the observatories as early as possible in the morning to prevent those humongous lines. The subway system is awesome and very cheap, we got the unlimited ride for one week for around $34, this includes the subway and the buses. I do not recommend you visit the city in a car since parking are extremely expensive and you won't really get a chance to really see the city. Instead, walking and taking the transportation system such as the subway and buses is the most affordable option in which you will get the best experience. We used google maps all the time, it even tells which subway train to take and at what time they arrive, we never got lost when using this. While on this, make sure to take comfortable shoes since you will be walking a lot, there were days we walked 13 miles, but we did get to see a lot. Central park is a must, we went on spring where trees and flowers were blooming with many gorgeous colors. Here, you can rent bikes, take horse carriage rides, do pedicab tours or just walk and explore. If taking the pedicab tours, make sure not to go for their first offer, instead whatever they are asking, ask for half their price and go up from there. City pass also includes a ferry to Liberty Island and Ellis Island. Make sure to take the ferry as early as possible, these two places get packed with people making it very hard to take pictures. From my experience, Ellis Island had the best view of Manhattan so don't forget your camera. Flying a drone is not permitted in most of NYC, however there are some specific parks where you can fly them from, but the view of the city is not great. Food is amazing if you know how to look for it, make sure to use yelp or a platform that offers reviews and price, so you know what you are getting yourself into, there are also many food carts around the city which provide a fast and delicious service for you to continue your journey so make sure to check those out too. You will not run out attractions in this city, so plan the ones you want to visit the most so that you do those first. Overall, our experience was great and would most likely come back in the future for more.

Powered by - Manhattan has some of the nation's most valuable real estate, and has a reputation as one of the most expensive areas in the United States. On September 20, 2012, The New York Times reported that the income gap in Manhattan, already wider than almost anywhere else in the country, rivaled disparities in sub-Saharan Africa. ... The wealthiest fifth of Manhattanites made more than 40 times what the lowest fifth reported, a widening gap (it was 38 times, the year before) surpassed by only a few developing countries, including Namibia and Sierra Leone.
Manhattan is the economic engine of New York City, with its 2.3 million workers drawn from the entire New York metropolitan area accounting for almost two-thirds of all jobs in New York City. Manhattan's daytime population swells to 3.94 million, with commuters adding a net 1.34 million people to the population. This commuter influx of 1.61 million workers coming into Manhattan was the largest of any other county or city in the country, and was more than triple the 480,000 commuters who headed into second-ranked Washington, D.C.
Its most important economic sector is the finance industry, whose 280,000 workers earned more than half of all the wages paid in the borough. The securities industry, best known by its center in Wall Street, forms the largest segment of the city's financial sector, accounting for over 50% of the financial services employment. Before the financial crisis of 2008, the five largest securities-trading firms in the U.S. had their headquarters in Manhattan.
In 2006, those in the Manhattan financial industry earned an average weekly pay of about $8,300 (including bonuses), while the average weekly pay for all industries was about $2,500. This was the highest in the country's 325 largest counties, and the salary growth of 8% was the highest among the ten largest counties. Pay in the borough was 85% higher than the $784 pay earned weekly nationwide and nearly double the amount earned by workers in the outer boroughs. The health care sector represents about 11% of the borough's jobs and 4% of total compensation, with workers taking home about $900 per week.
New York City is home to the most corporate headquarters of any city in the nation, the overwhelming majority based in Manhattan.Manhattan had approximately 520 million square feet (48.1 million m²) of office space in 2013, making it the largest office market in the United States, while Midtown Manhattan is the largest central business district in the nation. Lower Manhattan is the nation's third-largest central business district (after Chicago's Loop) and is home to the New York Stock Exchange, the American Stock Exchange (Amex), the New York Board of Trade, the New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) and NASDAQ. In July 2013, NYSE Euronext, the operator of the New York Stock Exchange, took over the administration of the London interbank offered rate from the British Bankers Association.
Seven of the world's top eight global advertising agency networks are headquartered in Manhattan.Madison Avenue is often used metonymously to refer to the entire advertising field, after Madison Avenue became identified with the advertising industry after the explosive growth in the area in the 1920s.
Manhattan's workforce is overwhelmingly focused on white collar professions, with manufacturing (39,800 workers) and construction (31,600) accounting for a small fraction of the borough's employment.
Historically, this corporate presence has been complemented by many independent retailers, though a recent influx of national chain stores has caused many to lament the creeping homogenization of Manhattan

Central Park
Central Park is an urban park in the New York City borough of Manhattan. It was initially opened in 1857, on 778 acres (315 ha) of city-owned land (it is 843 acres today). In 1858, Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux won a design competition to improve and expand the park with a plan they titled the Greensward Plan. Construction began the same year, continued during the American Civil War, and was completed in 1873. Central Park is the most visited urban park in the United States.
Designated a National Historic Landmark in 1962, the park is currently managed by the Central Park Conservancy under contract with the city government. The Conservancy is a non-profit organization that contributes 83.5% of Central Park's $37.5 million annual budget and employs 80.7% of the park's maintenance staff.

DC pedicabber detained on Constitution Ave. by US Park Police -- Thurs. March 1, 2012
Pedicab was initially stopped for passengers not wearing a seatbelt. While indeed seat-belt use is included in DC pedicab regulations, the party at fault is not clearly stated as is with taxi seat-belt laws in which only passengers shall be issued citations for violation. The use of bald tires is not illegal and, apparently, neither is motorcycle-use on sidewalks for police officers. And videotaping public officials carrying out public work on public lands is not only lawful... it's a civic duty!
Homegrown Terrorist organization nypd get upset I was recording
Terrorist members where all over this guys car from California. Looks like the stop was a unlawful stop. If the individual in the car had broken the law, the individual would have been cited. You can hear the terrorist comment at me sarcastically great job. I guess pulling someone over for no reason is a great job, if you're a terrorist. I do what I can to avoid these terrorist but some how I always run into them in the commission of rights violations. After they attacked me I've been afraid to document them as I am in fear for my life. Sorry about the bad camera angle but where I place my phone holds it this way so I'm free to use my hands.

-The city made pedal-assist bikes street legal over the weekend and a startup is letting New Yorkers tap an app to hop on an electric moped. In the Bronx city transportation officials welcomed Jump to a dockless bike share pilot in the Fordham area. The bike share company will operate 200 pedal-assist e-bikes. Citi Bike will join Jump bikes in the Bronx pilot with 200 of its dockless rides.Meanwhile a Brooklyn company in Bushwick named Revel Transit launched an app Monday where people can rent one of 68 e-mopeds off city streets similar to ride-share companies like Car2Go and Zipcar. The new transportation landscape is promising Councilman Antonio Reynoso who sits on the Transportation Committee said outside Revels Bushwick headquarters. Were not a city thats shutting the doors on innovation and technology and new ideas.Revels electronic mopeds are legal under the states existing laws and are registered and insured with the state Department of Motor Vehicles.Revel has a $25 fee to cover a motor vehicle license check and rides cost $4 for the first 20 minutes and an extra 25 cent per-minute charge after that. There are fines from the app if bikes are left on the sidewalk instead of the street where they must be parked.Revel is limited to Williamsburg Greenpoint and Bushwick in Brooklyn.Theres a market for everyone if you look at any European city any Latin American city people that get on mopeds (are) young old male female so we think that the market will grow quickly said Paul Suhey co-founder and CEO of Revel.Theres a unique opportunity for a service to come in that allows you to go that say two-and-a-half miles and above without sweating without expending much effort.
