The Nhật Tân Bridge (or Vietnam–Japan Friendship Bridge) is a cable-stayed bridge crossing the Red River in Hanoi, inaugurated on January 4, 2015. It forms part of a new six-lane highway linking Hanoi and Noi Bai International Airport. The project is funded by a Japan International Cooperation Agency ODA loan.
Nhat Tan Bridge has a total length of 8.3 kilometres (5.2 mi), including a 3.7 kilometres (2.3 mi) bridge, with 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) cable-stayed bridge with five spans crossing the Red River. The bridge is 33.2 metres (109 ft) wide, divided into four lanes for motorized vehicles, two lanes for buses, two lanes for mixed vehicles and pedestrian paths. Each span has 11 pairs of cables.
Nhat Tan Bridge was designed and built to become a new icon of the capital, its five towers symbolizing the five ancient gates of Hanoi. In the summer of 2017, Hanoi partnered with the Dutch company Philips to illuminate the bridge at night. The system is claimed to be able to create 16.7 million colors.

Hà Nội Phố: Cầu Nhật Tân - Nhat Tan Bridge The Noibai International Airport and downtown Hanoi are separated by the 1km wide Red River.
The Thang long bridge, constructed 30 years ago is currently the only link across over this river, resulting in serious traffic congestion and many accidents. The Nhat Tan Bridge will provide an alternative and more direct access route, reducing the transit time from the airport. The Main Bridge, a 1500m long cable-stayed bridge with multiple spans, is very rare type of bridge in the world and it will be one of the longest bridges in South East Asia upon completion. This bridge, the gateway to Hanoi, will also serve as symbol of the friendship between Vietnam and Japan.
Cầu dây văng Nhật Tân vượt sông Hồng
Được khởi công từ năm 2009 và là một trong những công trình giao thông trọng điểm của Hà Nội, dự án cầu dây văng Nhật Tân không chỉ có ý nghĩa lớn về kinh tế mà còn có ý nghĩa chính trị, xã hội.
Kênh chia sẻ về cuộc sống người hà nội, văn hóa, ẩm thực, góc nhìn về hà nội một cách chân thật nhất. Cầu Nhật Tân thuộc vành đai 2 của Hà Nội, bắt đầu tại phường Phú Thượng (Tây Hồ), chạy song song và cách đường Lạc Long Quân khoảng 420 m. Sau khi vượt sông Hồng, cây cầu cắt đường 5 kéo dài tại nút giao Vĩnh Ngọc rồi đi thẳng theo hướng bắc và kết thúc ở điểm giao với đường Nam Hồng (huyện Đông Anh).

Construction of the Road connnecting Nhat Tan Bridge to Noi Bai Int'l Airport begins
Construction of the road connecting Noi Bai International Airport to Nhat Tan Bridge kicked off on Monday in Hanoi.
The high standard 12.1 km road is expected to accommodate the increase in traffic volume and improve transport capacity from central Hanoi to Noi Bai International Airport, thereby contributing to promoting economic growth and strengthening international competitiveness of Hanoi and northern Vietnam. The first 83 million USD loan agreement for the Noi Bai International Airport to Nhat Tan Bridge Connecting Road Construction Project was signed back in March 18 2010 between the government of Vietnam and JICA. JICA will make additional financing according to the actual implementation. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2014 according to a harmonised schedule with Nhat Tan Bridge Construction Project and Noi Bai T2 Terminal Construction Project which are also financed by Japan's official development assistance loan./.
