Beautiful Monarke organ for the famous Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim, Norway.
A team of Johannus specialists recently installed a beautiful Monarke Präludium in the famous Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim, Norway.
Nidaros Cathedral (Norwegian: Nidaros Domkirke) is a Church of Norway cathedral located in the city of Trondheim.
Built over the burial site of Saint Olav, the king of Norway in the 11th century, who became the patron saint of the nation. It is the traditional location for the consecration of the King of Norway.
It was built from 1070 to 1300, and designated as the cathedral for the Diocese of Nidaros in 1152. After the Protestant Reformation, it was taken from the Roman Catholics by the Lutheran Church in 1537. It is the northernmost medieval cathedral in the world.
Two authentic pipe organs and a beautiful Monarke organ are installed in the cathedral. The old Baroque organ was built by Johann Joachim Wagner. The main organ was built by the Steinmeyer firm in 1930.
Because the main organ was being restored, the cathedral was looking for an organ powerful enough to support congregational singing.
After a thorough selection process, the cathedral chose for the best solution: a beautiful Monarke organ.

Nidarosdomen i Trondheim, egentlig Nidaros domkirke, er Norges mest sentrale kirke, fordi den er Olav den helliges gravkirke. Den er i dag en luthersk domkirke og menighetskirke og betraktes både som Norges nasjonalhelligdom og som kroningskirke.

The video is of AURORA's concert in Nidarosdomen (Nidaros cathedral), Trondheim, Norway. She performed in front of a sold-out audience alongside her band, TrondheimSolistene (ensemble/orchestra), Oslo Fagottkor (choir), Petra Bjørkhaug (organist) and Ruth Potter (harpist). This concert was recorded on the 2nd of November, 2017 and was broadcast by NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation) on the 28th of December, 2017. Some songs that were originally performed that night were cut from the broadcast.
English subtitles added for the Norwegian parts.

We took a short trip to Trondheim, and went walking around the city. I wasn't able to get a lot on video but I did get this glimpse of Nidarosdamen a beautiful cathedral in the middle of the city.

I climbed the tight and steep stairs to the the top of the central tower in Nidaros Cathedral. There are 172 steps up to the top and you get a great panoramic view of Trondheim, Norway. Shot in June 2017.
