Nihonbashi (日本橋, literally Japan Bridge), or Nihombashi, is a business district of Chūō, Tokyo, Japan which grew up around the bridge of the same name which has linked two sides of the Nihonbashi River at this site since the 17th century. The first wooden bridge was completed in 1603, and the current bridge made of stone dates from 1911. The district covers a large area to the north and east of the bridge, reaching Akihabara to the north and the Sumida River to the east. Ōtemachi is to the west and Yaesu and Ginza to the south.

The Chimera was, according to Greek mythology, a monstrous fire-breathing female and male creature of Lycia in Asia Minor, composed of the parts of three animals — a lion, a snake and a goat. ► This is another of Tokyo's secret paradise gardens. And although it has its fair share of mosquitos and venomous spiders, it also offers some amazing views, some imaginative walkingtrails that leads you through this wonderful landscape garden.
I don't hesitate labeling this a secret garden, as I've never
seen it in any western guidebooks. This was my first visit there,
and it instantly became a new favorite place of mine, so don't be surprised if I upload a snow-covered winter-version of it in 4-5 months time.

Hama Rikyu Onshi Teien - Japanese Garden, Tokyo ● 浜離宮恩賜庭園 (Revisited)
► Hama Rikyu Garden is located in Chuo-Ku, adjacent to Sumida Gawa river. It's another of Tokyo many fine gardens, which offers some good spots of its own, and those I'm gonna show you in this little feature.
Best points about Hama Rikyu are its many water features and bridges, and its sheer size - it is huge - you can spend quite long time walking around there. It also offers a nice teahouse where you can treat yourself with a real Japanese tea-ceremony.
Less good points - and perhaps due to the same reason (its size) - it is somehow too open and lacks the intimacy that many of the other gardens offers, so it somewhat invites less for exploration.
That said, it's still a really nice garden to spend an afternoon in central Tokyo. Easy access from Shimbashi Station, admission fee 350yen. - Enjoy!

You can take a variety of cruise boats along the Sumida River.
The most popular is to take a boat from Asakusa to Hinode Pier (or in reverse). There is a total of 12 bridges on this route.
Most tourists take the Asakusa to Hinode Pier route and get off at Hamarikyu Garden to enjoy the beautiful Japanese garden. Journey takes around 35 minutes to Hamarikyu Garden and an extra 5 minutes if going to Hinode Pier.

It has been reported that the Nihonbashi Bridge was first built in 1603,
the yaear TOKUGAWA,Ieyasu established the shogunate in Edo.
In the following year it was designated as the origin point of the five national roads administered directly by the shogunate(Tokaido,Nakasendo,Oshu Dichu,Nikko Dochu,Koshu Dochu).
The bridge stood in the central district, where was the busiest commercial city of Edo with rows of bustling fish markets and wholesale shops along with the Nihonbashi River.
The bridge that stands today is a Renaissance-style double-arch stone structure built in 1911, and one of the few Meiji-era stone bridges left in Tokyo.
