Japan KYOTO STREET FOOD TOUR | 11 TOP FOODS of NISHIKI MARKET TOUR
Today I’m exploring Japan Kyoto street food at I’m at Kyoto’s 400 year old traditional market- Nishiki Market. I’m taking a comprehensive look inside the 11 top traditional foods of Nishiki Market. As the Kitchen of Kyoto, what impressed me was that Nishiki Market is an authentic market- it caters not only to tourists, but to local customers and Kyoto chefs, as well. Rather than selling hype foods like Kuromon Market in Osaka, foods and flavors sold here are also for local kitchens. One thing Kyoto has been good at is preserving their traditional culture. While you may not see many shocking things here you will get an insight into some of the culinary tastes. What would you add to this Nishik i Market Guide?

Arigato Japan Food Tour and Ninja Dojo! Japan Trip Episode 4 - Kyoto
I’ve been looking forward to visiting Kyoto for a long time. We finally made it and just had time to check into our hotel then meet up with Arigato Japan Food Tours for their Kyoto Casual Evening Pontocho Food Tour. Our guide Russ took us to some great spots to try some local snack, drinks and dishes. Since he’s also a musician, and we love music, he was able to talk our way into a concert to get a couple shots, pretty cool.
The next day Shawn and I went to the Ninja Dojo and Store to take their 2 hour ninja class. Our instructor showed us some ninja moves and taught us to use some ninja weapons, it was definitely a fun class and now we’re both trained ninjas.
After class we wandered around the city, found some cool market streets, Shawn got to try Saba Sushi, which he really liked, I tried Ichiran for the first time, we had some other street food, then back to the hotel to rest up for our big city car tour the following morning.

Ninja Themed Restaurant | Tokyo, Japan
Come experience the Ninja Restaurant here in Tokyo with me! It was overall a very pleasant experience for a first-timer amongst Japan’s many themed eateries. The “Ninja Training (obstacle) Course” was a unique feature that I enjoyed before being seated for dinner. The only downside was that we had to all agree on a particular course & inform them ahead of time during reservations. A small a la carte menu is available, but as far as courses there are about a dozen to choose from for every taste bud, they offer a vegetarian course, a beef-centered course, as well as a pork course, amongst others. The food was surprisingly very good & the magic tricks performed were a nice surprise. It’s a great date night idea & well-worth going to at least once & being able to say, “I went”, but probably not for recurring visits unless you have a young one with a ninja fascination. Overall, I give it 3.5 stars for food & atmosphere. As always, I hope you enjoy!

Kyoto, Japan: Fushimi Inari Shrine, Nishiki Market, and Ninja Lessons
A couple of days in Kyoto where we hiked up through Fushimi Inari shrine, which is said to have around 10,000 red torii gates. We also went to Sanjūsangen-dō to see the 1000 golden human-sized statues of Kannon, as well as Nijo Castle. We ate our way through Nishiki Market (one of many times) and did some ninja training. Not my best moment there...

Our day begins by checking out the Nishiki Market which is full of all of the best food in Kyoto! We taste Baby Octopus stuffed with Quail Eggs, an Egg Sandwich, Strawberry Dongo, and a Greet Tea Chicken Croquette from Hanayori Kiyoe. Then it was off to lunch at Honke Owariya which has been serving soba noodles for over 500 years! We then toured around the Gion area, making multiple matcha stops at Tsujiri and Maccha House where we ate everything from Matcha Soft Serve, to Matcha Tiramisu!

BAMBOO NOODLE SLIDE & SAMURAI Food in Kyoto Japan
If you're looking for a fun place to eat, go to Hirobun. It's in a beautiful and peaceful area where the noodles flow in a long bamboo stick with clear and cold running water through it. But you have to be fast and on your guard for your noodles because they slide by pretty quick!
Then tried out some cool Samurai food that was once eaten by actual Samurai's. For Samurai's to stay healthy and fit they ate a lot of vegetables, and I thought it was pretty good, although I don't really eat veggies. And to end my fun food day, I went to grab some Okonomu-Yaki. I have to say Manmaru No Tsuki served up some amazing foods here.

Japanese street food is amazing! Today, we're eating LIVE DANCING Squid Sashimi! AND, we're going for a FULL ON street food tour of Hakodate, Japan to taste a ton of Japanese street food and seafood! Red King Crab legs, Seafood Ramen, Soba noodles, LUXURY Uni, and MORE!
In this video, I (The Food Ranger), am bringing you in DEEP for some amazing street food in Hakodate, Japan. This Japanese street food video has 7 amazing street foods you need to try.
Get ready to eat some RARE Japanese seafood dishes, like dancing squid sashimi don rice bowl (kaisen don) and more!
Japanese street food is so diverse, you can travel around Japan to new cities to try unique cuisine in each city. And Hakodate is a very special city for street food and seafood. We took the train from Sapporo just to come on a street food tour of the morning market in Hakodate and to try as much ramen, noodles, and seafood as possible.
First up, we're going to the morning market in Hakodate for a seafood tour. The morning market in Hakodate is where all the fisherman unload their catch and where you can taste some of the freshest seafood in Japan. First up, we're going for some street UNI sea urchin and then comparing it with a luxury uni sea urchin in a restaurant right beside.
Shop Name: Uni Murakami
Address: In the morning market
Then, we're going for a LUXURY Japanese seafood ramen! Made in a rich seafood stock with miso and topped with scallop, shrimp, uni sea urchin, snow crab legs! It was delicious!
Shop Name: Kamome
Address: Right across from seafood market
And then we're taking you for even more Japanese food. We're going for a delicious shio ramen made with salt from around the hakodate area. It was very refined and delicious with half boiled eggs, chasiu pork!
Shop Name: Ajisai Ramen
Address: Near the Goryokaku Hakodate tower
And then, since we are on a world noodle tour, we're going for soba, a famous Japanese buckwheat noodle served cold with a sweet soy sauce!
Shop Name: Maruyoshi Soba
Address: 23-8 Chitosecho, Hakodate, Hokkaido
And to finish up, we're going back to the morning market for DANCING SQUID sashimi! This was served over rice with ikura salmon eggs! We also ordered some steamed king crab legs and BBQ king crab legs!
Thanks a lot for watching these street food tour videos!
