Nitra has alvvays had a prominent place in the cultural and Christian life of present day Slovakia ,and this vvas also so before the formation Great Morava . In the year 2013 ,vve vvill commemorate the 1150 th anniversary of the arrival of the Slavic apostles , Sts Cyril and Methodius ,vvho are also Co-Patrons of Europe .
