Swingin Steaks, Mexican Hat Lodge, Mexican Hat, San Juan County, Utah, United States, North America
Mexican Hat Lodge was an Old Indian Bar and Dance Hall. In operation between 1950 to 1990. In the early 90's Bobby and Vonnie Mueller and Kids remodeled the up stairs into 10 Beautiful rooms each one different. The Mueller's (Bobby, Jay Dee and Joy ) came to Mexican Hat in July of 1979 as a traveling Band working the southwest nite clubs and liked the area so much that with hard work and sweat, they managed to buy the old TOP O HAT bar (Water Hole #1) and convert it to a Bed and Breakfast looking place. However, we don't do breakfast as there are two other places which provide breakfast. Our specialty is Rib eye Steak Dinner. 18oz. cooked on an open fire (cedar wood) and served in an Old Cowboy style. The Mueller's still play music on special occasions ( Any Time Some One Wants Us To) if we are not busy cooking or waiting tables. We have been working on a gooood CD for years; maybe we will get it this time. If your a Amateur Radio Operator Please consider DX operation from our location. The owner is Bob. http://www.vrbo.com/180206 Architectural Work of Art Turn of the Century Uptown Home
This house is the ideal location for Superdome and Convention Center events (10 minute drive). Located four houses off renowned Magazine Street. This New Orleans home is ideally located for a casual stroll to antique and eclectic shops, unique restaurants, the many bars and coffeehouses, or to just enjoy the scenic street shaded by beautiful old oak trees. In the heart of historic uptown New Orleans, you are only a streetcar ride from many local attractions. The St. Charles Avenue Streetcar takes you to the famous French Quarter; the Convention Center; the Riverwalk; and the Superdome; all within three miles.
The following is just a sampling of my favorite restaurants, music venues, and fun things to do close to my home:
Walking distance:
Mona's: excellent Mediterranean food, inexpensive, BYOL; Baru: (great tapas) Jamaican cuisine; 2 fantastic French restaurants: Petite Grocery and Lilette; Theo's pizza; Ignatius Eatery (all New Orleans food); Nirvana: Indian cuisine; Casamento's: best oysters in the city; Savvy Gourmet Restaurant; Superior Grill; Canon's Restaurants on scenic St. Charles; Fuel Coffee House and Magazine Perks for goood coffee; Le Bon Temps Roule (great local live music, NEVER a cover charge, good late food), Brother's III Lounge (more of a local neighborhood bar); Ms. Maes famous 24 hour iconic bar; Buddah Belly Bar; Fat Harry's Bar; and of course, world renown Tipitina's for big name live music, and of course, all or the eclectic shops on Magazine St (too numerous to count!)
Very close (VERY short drive, longer walk): Dick and Jenny's: a must (probably the best food in the city...really!); La Crepe Nanou, French, in expensive, my favorite; Frankis and Johnny's; Sunday brunch or cocktails at Column's Hotel; Commander's Palace for the ultimate classy New Orleans experience, sushi at Kyoto; evening live music at Dos Jefe's Cigar Bar, Upperline Restaurant, Balcony Bar and Grill, Bulldog Bar and Grill, Cafe Rani (good place to sit outside under a big oak), August Moon (Chinese); Mahoney's Po Boy Shop (great Po Boys!); Delachaise and Canon's Restaurants on scenic St. Charles Ave; Nacho Mama's (Mexican and GREAT margaritas); Reginelli's Pizzaria; Prytania Theatre (stand alone neighborhood movie theater); cemetery and Garden District walking tours, Whole Foods.
Short drive: French Quarter, Convention center, Superdome, New Orleans Arena, Downtown, Audabon Park and Zoo, The River Walk, New Orleans Center, countless restaurants and shops.
There is off street parking for three vehicles. (Although you really do not need one!) The house is fully furnished, has wireless internet; satellite TV (Direct TV) with NFL Sunday Ticket package; two Huge HD TV's; modern kitchen; washer and dryer. Upstairs is a spacious loft with two large balconies; wet bar; jacuzzi and glass shower. Downstairs are two bedrooms, the larger bedroom has a queen bed and the smaller bedroom has a full bed (which is actually a very comfortable full sized futon with a memory foam mattress).
In the back of the house is a shaded garden patio with a bar-b-q and hammock.
This is not a condo or a duplex ~ this a most unique and beautiful home. It is truly a work of art. I am very particular about who I rent the property to because it is MY HOME, and I will only be renting it out for a limited time. If you are interested, I suggest you reserve your spot today. It'll be my pleasure to assist you in any way during your stay. I have lived in every part of the city and I can assure you that staying here will give you the feel of the REAL New Orleans!
For exact location and proximity, I recommend Googling the intersection of Magazine Street and Marengo Street. You can then easily see the proximity to all the local attractions.

WhiskyCast HD: Atlantic City's Best Whisky Bar
Whisky lovers travel to Atlantic City from all over the U.S. for the monthly Second Saturday Single Malt Tastings at the Miner's Delight Inn. Bob and Barbara Townsend started the monthly tastings after they bought the B&B in 2006, and their Two-Bit Cowboy Saloon has 86 different whiskies behind the hand-crafted bar.
They're used to a bit of confusion, though. This Atlantic City is in Wyoming, not New Jersey.

Waitresses openly carry guns at restaurant in Rifle, Colorado
While open carry firearm laws are being debated across the country, there's been a push back from some businesses about allowing owners to carry handguns in public. Barry Petersen reports on a Colorado establishment taking the opposite approach.
What’s on the Menu: The Office Lounge
Being at “the office” doesn’t need to be routine, at least not while dining at The Office Lounge, located inside the Hilton Garden Inn in St. George.
What’s on the Menu’s trio of tasters, Sheldon Demke, Cassie and Nona, recently snuck out on a lunch break from the Canyon Media office and made their way to The Office, where they found plenty of delicious data to file a comprehensive culinary report.
Popular items on The Office’s menu include its signature “Dragonfire” chicken flatbread made from chicken drizzled with a chili and orange glaze, surrounded by carrots, onions, cheese and cilantro.
Entree options include the grilled vegetable pasta primavera served with cheese bread and the smoked BBQ pork ribs, served with a grilled vegetables and a side of steak fries. Various soups, salads and sandwiches are also available.
The Office Lounge also features a full bar and hosts regular comedy nights and other activities.

Beloved by Meredith Brammeier
World premiere performance by Choral Arts Initiative
Conducted by Brandon Elliott
St. Mark Presbyterian Church
Newport Beach, California
June 14, 2019
On October 27, 2018, I awoke to reports of yet another mass shooting in the United States, this time at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Feeling distraught, angry, and helpless, I sat down at the keyboard and began composing “Beloved.”
As a Christian, I have heard 1 John 4:7-8 quoted frequently, but it seems that the lesson these words try to teach still eludes us, as evidenced by the continued acts of violence and hatred that we perpetrate against one another. “Beloved” reflects this dichotomy, juxtaposing the Biblical text with the names of multiple places in the United States that have suffered mass shootings since 1998.
The piece opens quietly with the words, “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.” As the work progresses, the sopranos and altos repeat these words while an undercurrent of indistinguishable text begins to murmur in the tenors and basses. This litany of places in which mass shootings have occurred – first as city and state names, then as names of businesses, festivals, concerts, schools, and places of worship – gradually drowns out the simultaneous Biblical text, creating a cacophony of sound that crescendos to an anguished cry followed by sudden silence. The piece concludes with a crucial phrase from 1 John, “They that loveth not knoweth not God, for God is love,” followed by a return to the opening plea: “Beloved, let us love one another.”
Most composers hope that their pieces will continue to be performed for many years into the future; my hope is that this piece will soon become obsolete, a mere historical artifact to be looked upon with sorrow and regret.
Beloved is dedicated to the memory of all those who have lost their lives to gun violence, in the United States and across the world.

Austin: The Ultimate Local's Guide || Gatekeepers
Chef Ashley Jonique hits Austin, Texas to find out from the locals themselves if the city is actually as weird as people say it is. She links with bartender Brett Esler, Chef Deepa Shridhar, and DJ Mel to get a taste of what Austin has to offer. From food trucks to watering holes, Ashley’s gatekeepers have her covered for the best food, drinks, and activities the city has to offer.
In every city, there’s someone who’s connected, who knows where to go on a slow Monday night and can get a table anywhere they want on a Friday -- in every city, there’s a Gatekeeper. In this Thrillist travel show, we’re sending our host across the country to meet up with these Gatekeepers and experience first-hand everything you should make sure to do/eat/drink, one city at a time.
