TRIP TO THAILAND, BANGKOK CITY, EXPLORING BANGKOK, BEST THAI BEACHES
Bangkok (English pronunciation: /ˈbæŋkɒk/) is the capital and most populous city of Thailand. It is known in Thai as Krung Thep Maha Nakhon (กรุงเทพมหานคร, pronounced [krūŋ tʰêːp mahǎː nákʰɔ̄ːn] ( listen)) or simply About this sound Krung Thep (help·info). The city occupies 1,568.7 square kilometres (605.7 sq mi) in the Chao Phraya River delta in Central Thailand, and has a population of over 8 million, or 12.6 percent of the country's population. Over 14 million people (22.2 percent) live within the surrounding Bangkok Metropolitan Region, making Bangkok an extreme primate city, dwarfing Thailand's other urban centres in terms of importance.
Bangkok traces its roots to a small trading post during the Ayutthaya Kingdom in the 15th century, which eventually grew in size and became the site of two capital cities: Thonburi in 1768 and Rattanakosin in 1782. Bangkok was at the heart of Siam's (as Thailand used to be known) modernization, during the later 19th century, as the country faced pressures from the West. The city was the centre of Thailand's political struggles, throughout the 20th century, as the country abolished absolute monarchy, adopted constitutional rule and underwent numerous coups and several uprisings. The city grew rapidly during the 1960s through the 1980s and now exerts a significant impact among Thailand's politics, economy, education, media and modern society.
The Asian investment boom in the 1980s and 1990s led many multinational corporations to locate their regional headquarters in Bangkok. The city is now a major regional force in finance and business. It is an international hub for transport and health care, and has emerged as a regional centre for the arts, fashion and entertainment. The city is well known for its vibrant street life and cultural landmarks, as well as its notorious red-light districts. The historic Grand Palace and Buddhist temples including Wat Arun and Wat Pho stand in contrast with other tourist attractions such as the nightlife scenes of Khaosan Road and Patpong. Bangkok is among the world's top tourist destinations. It is named the most visited city in MasterCard's Global Destination Cities Index, and was named World's Best City for four consecutive years by Travel + Leisure magazine.
Bangkok's rapid growth amidst little urban planning and regulation has resulted in a haphazard cityscape and inadequate infrastructure systems. Limited roads, despite an extensive expressway network, together with substantial private car usage, have resulted in chronic and crippling traffic congestion. This in turn caused severe air pollution in the 1990s. The city has since turned to public transport in an attempt to solve this major problem. Four rapid transit lines are now in operation, with more systems under construction or planned by the national government and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.
The Phi Phi Islands (Thai: หมู่เกาะพีพี, rtgs: Mu Ko Phiphi, pronounced [mùː kɔ̀ʔ pʰīː.pʰīː]) are in Thailand, between the large island of Phuket and the west Strait of Malacca coast of the mainland. The islands are administratively part of Krabi province. Ko Phi Phi Don (ko (Thai: เกาะ) meaning island in the Thai language) is the largest island of the group, and is the most populated island of the group, although the beaches of the second largest island, Ko Phi Phi Lee (or Ko Phi Phi Leh), are visited by many people as well. The rest of the islands in the group, including Bida Nok, Bida Noi, and Bamboo Island (Ko Mai Phai), are not much more than large limestone rocks jutting out of the sea.
Ko Phi Phi was devastated by the Indian Ocean tsunami

Phuket: Thailand Travel and Tour Guide
Press play on our video about Thailand travel to get to know Phuket, the country’s largest island.
Explore with us as we take on this enchanting paradise, which dazzles with emerald water and soft sand. Teeming with deserted beaches and intriguing culture, Phuket belongs at the top of your travel itinerary.
The beaches are certainly the main attraction, and as soon as you catch a glimpse of the shore, you’ll understand why. Whether you’re in the mood for snorkeling off the coast or simply worshipping the sun from the shore, this is the place to do it. Stick to the tourist favorites, including Patong, Kata, and Banana Beach, or hop in a long-tail boat to cruise to the other nearby islands. You’ll find crowded shores with a nightlife scene in beach towns like Patong, but also set aside time to escape to more secluded stretches such as Paradise Beach and Laem Singh Beach.
Make time for some peace and quiet during your Phuket adventure. This island takes great pride in its religion and history, and the temples are a great place to get a sense of the region’s spirituality. With 29 Buddhist temples scattered around the island, you have plenty to choose from. Search for the massive golden Buddha statue at Wat Khao Rang, or venture over to Wat Srisoonthorn to see the sleeping Buddha. From the Phuket Big Buddha to the Wat Phra Thong, you’ll get your fair share of serenity while you’re in town.
If you’re ready to make some noise after visiting the silent temples, discover Phuket nightlife. Tourists tend to flock to Bangla Road in Patong, where the party never stops. From night markets to gogo bars, you’ll find entertainment at every hour in this vibrant part of town. Prefer to catch some elaborate performances instead? The dazzling Phuket FantaSea is certainly one of the best things to do in Phuket, as it boasts trapeze artists, carnival rides, and stage productions. Dubbed a cultural theme park, FantaSea offers everything, including restaurants, shops, arcades, and theater shows.
Take a dip in the inviting waters or join one of the Phuket tours. Whether your idea of a vacation is getting a little R&R at the seaside or dabbling in the region’s culture, you can do both—and more—on your next trip to this picturesque island.

Thai Airways TG474 Brisbane to Bangkok October 2017

Thailand Free Visa on Arrival for Indian | Phuket, Thailand travel guide | Itinerary & cost
Thailand itinerary for 7 days and covered Phuket, Krabi, Phi Phi islands and Bangkok in less than 50 K per person. During our stay in Phuket, we explored Patong beach, Bangla street, Big Buddha and James bond island tour.
Please check our videos and description for more details about our Thailand trip and the detailed cost.
We booked our flights to Bangkok from Kolkata about 3 months in advance. The round trip costed - 10,500 INR.
Note: Thailand has waived off Visa on Arrival (VOA) fee for India citizen until 30th April 2020. This helped us save 4000 Thai Baht (About 8800 Rs.).
For VOA, carry your passport with at least 6 months validity, 1 recent passport size photo, hotel bookings, return flight tickets and 10000 Thai Baht or equivalent US dollars (They may ask you to show the Thai currency, but usually they don't).
Queue for VOA is usually long at Suvarnabhumi Airport compared to DMK airport. Ideally, it takes 1-1.30 hours for the processing so ensure there is sufficient gap between connecting flights. If for any reason you do not have much time, you can pay about 200 Baht fee at the airport for express VOA services.
Caution: There are 2 airports in Bangkok and these are 35-40 Km away from each other. Consider this fact while booking your connecting flights.
Since, Air Asia operates from DMK airport, we booked our connecting flight to Phuket from DMK. Airlines- Nok Air. Cost- 2,200 INR.
Our hotel Tanawan was located near Patong area and Private airport taxi costs about 800 Bahts and there are Smart AC buses which costs about 200 Baht per person.
Hotel is about 15 mins walk away from the Patong beach.
Hotel Tanawan - Cost 4200 INR for 2 nights.
Phuket is majorly a seafood lover's paradise and there are very few options available for Vegetarians. Since we were aware of this fact, we carried some ready to eat meals with us.
Patong city and Big buddha temple tour - 400 Bahts per person in shared Bus.

???????? PARADISE NEAR PHUKET - Koh Yao Noi, THAILAND EP2/2
Art Thomya, a Thai singer/songwriter, will show you the charms of ANI PRIVATE RESORT, a luxury private resort in Koh Yao Noi, a peaceful island with 30-min boat ride from Phuket, Southern Thailand.

MY FAMILY PRIVATE TRIP in Koh Yao Noi, Thailand EP2/2
Welcome back to Koh Yao Noi. Today, my family is going to have an island tour. Let's start our day fresh with big breakfast!
Koh Yao Noi has just opened its door to visitors for just over a decade. So, I can feel the lifestyle of local people here hasn't changed much, still relying on agriculture and fishing. People are really friendly and willing to show us their culture.
Well, we've learned now that local communities here on the island make a living from rice farming and fruit plantation. Apart from that, they do this rubber plantation too as rubber is an economy plant generally grown in Southern Thailand.
And..we've found a special kind of activity. Singing Contest by roosters! The rooster who makes the most number of sound in a limited time will win the prize! This activity is really local.
Next, it's time to exercise our artistic skills with Batik Painting. Batik cloth is a local product found in Southern Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Each area has its own style. Our local friend here will first help draw a picture with hot wax. Then, the colouring part is up to our imagination.
Nearby, there is a viewpoint our local friend recommended us to take a look. So, let's climb up a little hill then we'll see what's on the top.
Wow! You won't be disappointed. Phang Nga Bay is amazingly beautiful.
Now, the kids are a little tried. We're heading back to the hotel to get ready for a special dinner.
I feel grateful for this evening as the staff members here are so kind to make this beautiful decoration for our barbecue dinner. Not only is the decoration so nice, the seafood meats here are also very fresh as they are from nearby fishing villages.
After dinner, we really enjoy our private outdoor movie theatre.
Good morning! It's time to relax a bit with a famous Thai spa.
The last 3 days were truly a fulfilling trip for me and my family. We had such a great time together. Having our own private space meant a lot to us. We can't help but have to be back here again. Remember this name Koh Yao Noi. You'll love it like we do.
Thanks to Vietjet's several daily flight options between Bangkok and Phuket. Hope you were happy watching. Stay tuned for the next episode. Please subscribe!
