Norman Love, owner of Norman Love Confections, has been named by the Florida Retail Federation (FRF) as a 2011 recipient of the prestigious Retailer of the Year Award. Norman has a passion for chocolate -- artistically designed, lusciously delicious, handcrafted chocolates. This passion led him to launch Norman Love Confections in Fort Myers in 2001. Using the finest ingredients from throughout the world to create his unique line of ultra-premium masterpieces, Norman has grown his company to be recognized worldwide. With their artistic designs, rich rainbow colors including reds, oranges, and purples, and unique flavors such as Tahitian caramel, key lime and passion fruit, each box of Norman Love Chocolates packs a wow factor. Among Norman Love Confections' numerous accolades is being named the top chocolate in the United States by Consumer Reports this year. Norman was honored as one of the Top 10 Chocolatiers in North America in 2009 by Dessert Magazine, is co-founder of the National Pastry Team Championship, and is a regular guest judge on the Food Network Challenge series. Norman prepared for his current success by studying pastry-making in France and serving as the executive pastry chef for many years at various luxury resorts. As corporate executive pastry chef for The Ritz-Carlton, he oversaw global pastry and bakery operations, opening 30 hotel and resort pastry kitchens in international and domestic locales including Boston, Dubai and Bali. In his own business, Norman instills a corporate culture of relentless pursuit of innovation, excellence and quality. He empowers his employees and creates a positive atmosphere conducive to their success. He is dedicated to giving back to the community, with the company donating to more than 300 nonprofit organizations each year. Complementing his original Fort Myers location, Norman recently opened a Chocolate Salon in Naples, setting the stage for further expansion.

In this episode I'm sharing with you my favorite stores and restaurants and other fun places to visit in Fort Myers, Southwest Florida.
Beaches, sweets, shopping and treats – these are a few of MY favorite things!
So you recently moved to beautiful Southwest Florida – congratulations and welcome to the Sunshine state!
I’ve been here quite a while now so I want to share some of my favorite things about living here that you might want to check out.
There is no shortage of amazing sweets around here. I particularly enjoy Love Boat Ice Cream and Norman Love Confections. Sure to cure Any sweet tooth!
If dining out is your cup o’tea then try some of these amazing restaurants by the beaches in Fort Myers – Osaka Japanese Restaurant, La Casita Mexican Restaurant, for a little Ole’ in your life, The Roadhouse Café for fine dining and live entertainment and dancing, Citrola’s Italian Restaurant and The Lighthouse Restaurant is great for Sunday brunch with mimosas and holiday buffets.
Very Southwest-Florida-clothing shopping will send you straight to Tommy Bahamas and Lily Pulitzer of course. Don’t forget to pick up some Sperry’s on your way.
For fun with the whole family or just for the kiddo’s try out Zoomer’s Amusement Park, Skyzone, Jumping Jacks or Gymnastics World. For small children definitely take them to Louann Dunfey’s family music studio.
And when you need to buy a gift, head right to Lulu’s. Everytime I go there I tell Lulu I could just LIVE in her store. They wrap your gift for FREE too!
Lastly don’t forget that when you live in Southwest Florida it is important to know how to swim because we are surrounded by water and swimming pools galore. I recommend swimming lessons for the kids be your top priority. Call Kathy Cole, an ISR Swim Instructor. I’m happy to get you in contact with her so your family can enjoy the water AND stay safe.
