We went to Blackpool, England! Our one and only purpose in Blackpool was to visit the arcades and experience what British arcades were like. The first arcade we went to was North Pier Amusements which is located on the North Pier in Blackpool, England :P. We ended up playing a variety of games and even a few we have never played before. We also had to give the notoriously rigged United Kingdom claw machines a try. How much will we win? Will we even be able to win? Enjoy the video!

Today was a beautiful day. The tide was in and the sun was shining. The sea looked so clear you could see almost all the way down near the pier supports.
This channel is mainly dedicated to videos of my hometown, Blackpool, Lancashire, England.

Well the weather is improving and the Piers are open. Time for this years first walk-around. The lighting isn't brilliant. I tried to pick a quiet time to film and ended up being caught out by the sun. i'll probably do a better one in the summer.

Places to see in ( Blackpool - UK ) North Pier
Places to see in ( Blackpool - UK ) North Pier
North Pier is the most northerly of the three coastal piers in Blackpool, England. Built in the 1860s, North Pier is also the oldest and longest of the three.
Although originally intended only as a promenade, competition forced the pier to widen its attractions to include theatres and bars. Unlike Blackpool's other piers, which attracted the working classes with open air dancing and amusements, North Pier catered for the better-class market, with orchestra concerts and respectable comedians. Until 2011, North Pier was the only Blackpool pier that consistently charged admission.
The North Pier is designated by English Heritage as a Grade II listed building, due to its status as the oldest surviving pier created by Eugenius Birch. As of 2015 North Pier is still in regular use, despite having suffered damage from fires, storms and collisions with boats. Its attractions include bars, a theatre, a carousel and an arcade. One of the oldest remaining Sooty glove puppets is on display commemorating Harry Corbett buying the original puppet there.

They have a few video games and a mini indoor bowling which is pretty cool. They do have a large amount of redemption though, so that's dissappointing.

Many of the arcades in the UK (Mainly seaside arcades) are called Amusement Arcades. They are typically packed with redemption-based machines with very few video games (As video games simply do not make money). I have placed the word Amusements in the title for these types of places as they are not true Video Game Arcades, but deserve some sort of mention. As gambling is legal in the UK, they tend to include fruit machines (aka slot machines) and various other things money-making games, so video games really take a back seat in places like these. They also really hate filming, I'm not sure why because it's free advertising, unless dodgy things are taking place lol
An amusement arcade (often referred to as video arcade or simply arcade) is a venue where people play arcade games such as video games, pinball machines, electro-mechanical games, redemption games, merchandisers (such as claw cranes), or coin-operated billiards or air hockey tables. In some countries, some types of arcades are also legally permitted to provide gambling machines such as slot machines or pachinko machines. Games are usually housed in cabinets. The term used for ancestors of these venues in the beginning of the 20th century was penny arcades.Video games were introduced in amusement arcades in the late 1970s and were most popular during the golden age of arcade video games, the early 1980s. Arcades became popular with children and particularly adolescents, which led parents to be concerned that video game playing might cause them to skip school.
