DMIR 193 and SOO 2500 on the North Shore Scenic Railroad - Lake Superior Railroad Museum
8/3/2019 - 8/4/2019: While visiting Duluth the first weekend in August, some friends and I took a break from shooting the CN Iron Range to catch a few of Lake Superior Railroad Museum's trains on the North Shore Scenic Railroad route. On the evening of the 3rd, we caught the Pizza Train, with DMIR SD18 #193 leading north and SOO FP7A #2500 leading south! The next day; the afternoon of the 4th, we caught two separate trains heading south through downtown Duluth, operating for the Day Out With Thomas event. DMIR 193 led the first train while SOO 2500 led the second. Both trains had something... interesting on the north end. Yeah we got some weird looks lol.
Enjoy!

(0:02) - DMIR 193 leads the northbound half of the trip out of Duluth, MN

North Shore Scenic Railroad at Duluth
7/13/17 The North Shore Scenic Railroad operates excursion trips from the Lake Superior Railroad Museum in Duluth to the north, along Lake Superior. Most trains run to Lester Park, with some continuing as far north as Two Harbors. This train is the 3:00PM departure of the Duluth Zephyr, which makes the run to Lester Park, returning an hour and a half later. Recorded with a Samsung J7.

Duluth Railroad Museum July 15 & 16, 2017
This is part three of a four-part video of some railroad museums I visited in July of 2017. The third part is about Duluth Railroad Museum from July 16, 2017. This is a great museum located in downtown Duluth, MN with many hands-on artifacts and a wonderful staff that is willing to personally show you around if you ask. Great photo opportunities and even train rides on the North Shore and Scenic Railroad depart from the station.
HD - Night At the Railroad Museum: Part II
June 16th and 17th, 2012. The Lake Shore Railway Museum hosted it's annual Night At the Railroad Museum event and I decided to see what it was all about. The following footage is from the entire weekend of the event and includes a wide variety of trains and motive power, including locomotives running on GE's test track. Train symbols and locomotive road numbers shown when applicable.

Stone Mountain Scenic Railroad at Stone Mountain
This is a condensed on ride video of the Stone Mountain Scenic Railroad trip around the mountain which is actually classified as a hill. The actual mileage around Stone Mountain is actually 3.88 miles according to Wikipedia and the trip takes about 40 minutes so this video was condensed down to 13 minutes. The first documented railroad was laid here in 1869 as a spur line to the Stone Mountain Granite Quarry. This current line has operated since 1962. There are currently two diesel locomotives on this circuit which are units FP7A #6143 which is in this video and FP7A #6143 which were both built by EMD. I believe the one in the video is reminiscent of the early diesel locomotives when they were used in the 50's especially for those streamline looking passenger trains.
