A documentary about the history of the Scriver building in Northfield, Minnesota. Selected stories about its origins, occupants, and history as the site of the famous Jesse James bank raid of 1876.

The Northfield Experience Guides, One Float Parade and Song
The Northfield Experience Guides, One Float Parade and Song
Northfield, MN May 4-6, 2018
Four three days, the city of Northfield, MN was the host and stage for an immersive work of site-specific performance and visual art. Eleven different art events staged in locations all over town allowed the public to discover and re-discover their surroundings.
The Northfield Experience involved the combined creative work of over 450 people from St. Olaf and Carleton Colleges and the greater Northfield community.
The event featured over 250 live performers.
The audiences for this event were asked to follow carefully selected tour guides who lead groups by foot and bus to the various locations which featured original site-specific works of theater, media, dance, music and visual art.
As a part of the immersive nature of The Northfield Experience, a roving vocal ensemble entertained tour groups and the general public and an original sculptural parade float, designed specifically for the event drove through the center of town continuously during each performance.

Younger Brothers After the Attempted Northfield Bank Robbery
Everyone knows the story of the attempted bank robbery in Northfield by the James-Younger gang, when the townspeople rose up to defend their bank and thwarted the infamous would-be robbers. The gang fled the scene and split up; however, the Younger Brothers were captured later near Madelia, Minnesota. Government Records Specialist Charlie Rodgers tells the story of what happened to the brothers after their capture.

Learn about how the game of Basket Ball was created by James Naismith at the YMCA Training College in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1891. Bjoraker Building (Bierman's Furnature), 420 Division St.
Built in the early 1870's by A.J. Bjoraker. Has been home to Bierman Furniture since 1934, a business that has been in Northfield since 1896.

05 - State Bank and Ebel Block - Northfield History Podcasts
State Bank Building, 311 Water St.
Built in 1910 and was designed by Minneapolis Architect Harry Wild Jones in the Egyptian Revival style.
Ebel Block, 305 Water St.
A typical and well preserved 19th Century commercial building built in 1894 by William Ebel, a local hardware store owner. Replaced a wood-frame building built in the 1860s by Ebel.
