While in Munich, I went to the #Nymphenburg Palace. I was truly impressed by this beautiful property! If you're ever in Munich, I recommend you spend at least half a day at visiting the Nyphmenburg Palace, which happens to be the home of the Duke of #Bavaria. It's not only a beautiful place to go see, but has a very interesting history to it as well. Great place to spend a day while in #Munich. This baroque styled palace is massive and despite a lot of work being done outside on the grounds, it was still nice to see.
If you're looking for things to do or see in Munich, I would recommend visiting the Nymphenburg Palace.

Two large baroque palaces in Nymphenburg and Oberschleissheim are reminders of Bavaria's royal past. Schloss Nymphenburg (Nymphenburg Palace), some 6 km (4 mi) north west of the city centre, is surrounded by an impressive park and is considered to be one of Europe's most beautiful royal residences. 2 km (1 mi) north west of Nymphenburg Palace is Schloss Blutenburg (Blutenburg Castle), an old ducal country seat with a late-Gothic palace church. Schloss Fürstenried (Fürstenried Palace), a baroque palace of similar structure to Nymphenburg but of much smaller size, was erected around the same time in the south west of Munich.
Ludwigsburg Palace (German: Schloss Ludwigsburg) is a historical building in the city of Ludwigsburg (12 km north of Stuttgart's city centre), Germany. It is one of the country's largest Baroque palaces and features an enormous garden in that style.
Ludwigsburg Residential Palace is one of the largest Baroque buildings in Europe to survive in its original condition. It offers visitors an insightful tour through the centuries – from Baroque to Rococo to Neoclassical.
Ludwigsburg Residential Palace (Residenzschloss Ludwigsburg) is one of the few Baroque buildings to have survived the tumultuous history of the last centuries almost unscathed. This truly palatial complex stands out not just for its impressive size, but also for its sumptuous interiors. Another feature is the unique blend of three quite different architectural styles: Baroque, Rococo and Neoclassicism.
If you want to see Baden-Württemberg at its most beautiful, visit the many palaces and gardens run by the state heritage agency, Staatliche Schlösser und Gärten.
Located directly north of Ludwigsburg’s main residential palace, Favorite Palace (Schloss Favorite) enjoys a commanding position overlooking the extensive Favoritepark. Its magnificent woodland was originally planted to create a pheasant farm.

Nymphenburg Palace acquired its present-day dimensions under the elctor Max Emanuel (reigned 1680-1726). Supervised by the court architect Henrico Zuccalli, two off-set pavilions were built on each side of the existing structure, to the north and south. Begun in 1701, the pavilions were linked with the central edifice by galleries. However, the Spanish War of Succession soon put a stopp to construction work because Max Emanuel was again obliged to spend time outside Bavaria, from 1704 to 1715.
The Bavarian Elector Ferdinand Maria presented his wife Henriette Adelaide with the inn, Schwaige Kemnat, to the west of the royal capital Munich, on the occasion of the long-awaited birth of a successor to the throne Max Emanuel in 1663.
In Nymphenburg, Friedrich Ludwig von Sckell succeeded in creating a classical landscape garden, whose special charm lay in the continuation of characteristic features of the gardens originating from previous and fundamentally different stylistic epochs. The grounds have remained virtually unchanged in their basic structure until today.

The baroque palace in the west part of Munich was the summer residence of the Bavarian monarchs. Five generations of Wittelsbach rulers were involved in the construction of this stately ensemble, which houses several outstanding collections. With its lavishly decorated interior and the famous Gallery of Beauties commissioned by Ludwig I, the palace is one of Munich's favorite attractions. Among the highlights are the former bedroom of King Ludwig II and the impressive banquet hall with fine ceiling frescoes by Johann Baptist Zimmermann.
The Nymphenburg Palace west of Munich is one of the largest royal palaces in Europe and is not to be missed on a sight-seeing tour through the Bavarian capital city. The oft-visited Baroque tourist attraction with it’s expansive landscaped garden and museum draws not only guests from around the world, but is also a beloved institution for Munich residents. In 1664, Prince Ferdinand Maria had the castle built as a present to his wife, who had borne him the long-awaited heir, Max Emanuel. Max Emanuel himself later played a significant role in expanding the palace layout.
For many years, the palace buildings were used by the Wittelsbachs as a summer residence. Some spaces have their original Baroque decor intact, while others were later remodeled in Rococo and Classical styles. Prominent architects like Giovanni Antonio Viscardi, Leo von Klenze, and François de Cuvilliés were involved in the expansions – the latter created the Steinernen Saal (“Great Hall”) in which Johann Baptist Zimmermann designed the central ceiling fresco, just two of the many additional attractions at Nymphenburg Palace. Also worth seeing are Ludwig I’s Gallery of Beauties and the chamber where King Ludwig II was born.
The palace houses the Naturkundemuseum Mensch und Natur (“Museum of Man and Nature”), the Porzellanmuseum (“Porcelain Museum”) for the on-site porcelain manufacturer Nymphenburg, and the Marstallmuseum in it’s wings. In the expansive palace park, visitors can discover numerous other smaller attractions: In addition to the Badenburg, Pagodenburg, and Amalienburg summer residences as well as the Magdalenenklause hermitage, the 299-hectare-large landscape garden also offers additional architectural gems, hidden sculptures, and picturesque streams and lakes.

The Amalienburg is an elaborate hunting lodge in the grounds of Nymphenburg Palace constructed in 1734-1739 by François de Cuvilliés in the Rococo style, for the Holy Roman Emperor Charles VII and his wife, Maria Amalia of Austria.
