O'Donoghue's pub live music Monday session. Dublin, Ireland
I have to apologize for the light / recording quality...
The Dubliners were known to play and drink here, and the tradition holds strong today, with 7 sessions a week. It’s a great traditional pub and the tunes are an integral part of its charm.

Ireland Nightlife-Pubs, Pubs, and More Pubs! (11 Live Performances in 5 Irish Cities)
I guess you can call this the epic pub crawl-we visited several Irish pubs in five Irish cities-Dublin, Kilkenny, Killarney, Cork, and Galway. I filmed 11 live performances overall. While some pub performers play famous cover songs, many of them play traditional Irish music, which is my favorite. I hope you had fun watching and cheers, or as they say in Ireland-Sláinte!

Grace
When Grace Gifford, the sister-in-law of Tomas MacDonagh, picked Easter Sunday 1916 as the date on which she was to marry Joseph Plunkett she had obviously no idea of the tragic events ahead of them.
Days before the planned wedding Joseph Plunkett, who suffered his entire life under respiration troubles, was admitted to the hospital and underwent an emergency operation.
On Easter Monday 1916, the day after the postponed wedding, Plunkett manned his post in the General Post Office (GPO) in Dublin to take part in the Easter Rising.
After the surrender of the rebels Joseph Plunkett was arrested and imprisoned in Kilmainham Gaol. Just hours before his execution on 4 May 1916 he married Grace Gifford in the jail chapel with two prison guards as witnesses.
Grace Gifford remained involved in the republican movement, especially in Sinn Féin, while earning a living as commercial artist.
She voted against the Anglo-Irish Treaty, which divided Ireland in Saorstát Éireann, or Irish Free State, and Northern Ireland, and during the Civil War she was imprisoned in Kilmainham Gaol for three months.
After the Civil War Gifford became a respected member of Dublin's cultural society until she died on 13 December 1955. Grace Gifford was buried on Glasnevin Cemetery with full military honour.
IRISH MUSIC @ O'DONOGHUE'S BAR - DUBLIN
I went a Saturday night to O'Donoghue's bar, too crowded for me, too many people yelling next to the musicians but any ways a good place to have a beer and listen good Irish music.
As the O'Donoghue's web page says:
Christy Moore and the Dubliners have spent many a memorable night entertaining Dublin's music lovers in our bar. It is this spirit that is kept alive by today's musicians who play amongst an array of drawings and photos of Irish musicians that adorn the walls of O'Donoghue's.

Finally O'Donoghue's Pub in Dublin with Gerry Cooley
After a 1000 sing songs in a 1000 places, Gerry finally gets to sing in the front Bar in O'Donoghue's Pub in Dublin. Famous as the birth place of the Dubliners who played there, many a time, at last...Saturday the 28th December 2013in the company of the Lee brothers. Gerry is joined on vocals by Terry Lee, a great guitarist himself but unfortunately lives in Gerry's long shadow! They got few songs in before all the real musicians arrived, who helped out on Banjo and Accordian....Black Velvet band and not a bad rendition....Luke would have liked it....

When the traditional Irish music revival began in the Sixties, the guitar was considered a foreign instrument. The harp was the Irish string instrument, which helps explain the lineup of The Chieftains groups who formed during that era. Times certainly have changed. Some Irish guitarists are Arty McGlynn, Dennis Cahill, John Doyle, Donagh Hennessy (Lúnasa), Garry O'Briain, Dathie Sproule, Randall Bays and Seamie O'Dowd just to name a few.
