Nikon Museum Tour (Shinagawa, Japan)
Enjoy a full tour of the Nikon Museum in Shinagawa, Japan.
Loaded with history and exhibits not only from the photographic industry, but also from industrial engineering, medicine, and electronics.
See every Nikon camera and lens ever made. Over 1,000 exhibits.
The museum is very easy to access from Shinagawa station.
Take the Konan Exit and follow the signs to the Museum located in Tower C.
Entry is free and the museum is open from 10:00-18:00.
Photography/videography is permitted on the premises with the exception of exhibited works such as photographs, and any films playing within exhibition areas.
There were some very exotic lenses on display, for example the 6mm f2.8, and the 1200 to 1700 mm telephoto zoom lens.
You'll also find all product catalogs and information that you can take home for free. The staff even gave me a little carry bag. At the end of the video I show you the accessories and lens catalogs.
The video is in 4K, so you'll be able to pause and read most of the text throughout the video.
Even if you're not in Shinagawa but happen to be in Tokyo or Yokohama, I seriously think it's worth the trip. Highly recommended.
Anyway, thanks for watching. Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe.
If you have any questions let me know in the comments.

Shinagawa Historical Museum where you can feel wabi-sabi 侘び寂びが感じられる場所 品川歴史館
Shinagawa Historical Museum has ’Suikinkutsu’. It is landscaping technique that lets you enjoy sound. By digging a small cave in a garden and letting water droplets fall inside, the sound of the water will reverberate on the cave's walls. By doing this, you will be able to enjoy a faint sound seeping from the ground. It is certainly a place where you can feel the tranquility and wabi-sabi (a Japanese aesthetic sense).

If you see one non-art museum in Tokyo, take in this one. This is one of several videos I filmed during several hours at the museum. They allow flash photograph in many locations just not of the items behind glass. The 6th floor has the exhibits of Edo, Japan which came before Tokyo. There is a lot to view, much of it with English translations. This museum is located next door to the National Sumo wrestling stadium which has a small museum about sumo. The map location is plotted with this video.

Inventing Utamaro: A Japanese Masterpiece Rediscovered
Inventing Utamaro: A Japanese Masterpiece Rediscovered
April 8, 2017–July 9, 2017
Sackler sublevel 1
In 2014, the Okada Museum of Art in Hakone, Japan, made an announcement that startled the art world. The new arts center revealed it had discovered a long-lost painting by Kitagawa Utamaro (1753–1806), a legendary but mysterious Japanese artist.
Titled Snow at Fukagawa, the immense work is one of three paintings by Utamaro that idealize famous pleasure districts in Edo (now Tokyo). This trio reached the Paris art market in the late 1880s and was quickly dispersed. Museum founder Charles Lang Freer acquired Moon at Shinagawa in 1903. Cherry Blossoms at Yoshiwara passed through several hands in France until the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art in Hartford, Connecticut, purchased it in the late 1950s. And Snow at Fukagawa had been missing for nearly seventy years before it resurfaced in Hakone.
For the first time in nearly 140 years, these paintings reunite in Inventing Utamaro at the Freer|Sackler, the only location to show all three original pieces. Contextualizing them within collecting and connoisseurship at the turn of the twentieth century, the exhibition explores the many questions surrounding the paintings and Utamaro himself.

Nezu Museum - Tokyo - 根津美術館 - 4K Ultra HD
Before it became a museum, this place was in fact a private property owned by Nezu Kaichiro (1860-1940) president of the Tobu Railway in Japan. Nezu Kaichiro left provision in his will to establish a foundation, to preserve his personal collection and make sure that future generations could share his love of the tea ceremony and its craft.
Today the museum houses a huge selection of ancient Chinese bronze pieces and other artifacts, paintings and calligraphy. According to the museum there are more than 7,400 objects stored here.
While the museum is definitely worth visiting, its garden, unfortunately only available to museum visitors, is a true island of peace in the center of Tokyo with several ponds and many traditional houses dedicated to the tea ceremony.
