Deadly Drone Now Allowed At Syracuse Airport (Dec. 2015)
The 174th Attack Wing (New York Air National Guard) flying the MQ-9 Reaper drone is now conducting training flights from Hancock Field Air National Guard Base and Syracuse Hancock International Airport as of December 16, 2015. The MQ-9 Reaper is the most deadly remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) in the U.S. Air Force arsenal as of this time - having more ordnance handling capability than the MQ-1 Predator drone.
The 174th Attack Wing is the first Air Force organization in the United States to fly an RPA in class C airspace, the common airspace around commercial airports.
Prior to this date all flight operations of the MQ-9 aircraft were conducted at Wheeler Sack Army Airfield at Fort Drum. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) granted approval for the 174th to begin launch and recovery operations with the MQ-9 Reaper drone from Hancock Field Air National Guard Base and the Syracuse International Airport this week.
The FAA approval follows a technical and operational review for the safe and effective takeoff and recovery of MQ-9 aircraft at Hancock Field, home to operator and maintenance training of MQ-9 crews. The FAA modified airspace around Hancock Field in 2013 to expand available training areas and provide transition from high altitude down to Hancock Field.
The 174th Attack Wing was established in 1947 as the first Air National Guard flying unit in New York State. Throughout its history, it has flown F-47 Thunderbolts, F-51 Mustangs, F-84 Thunderjets, F-86 Sabres, A-37 Dragonflies, A-10 Thunderbolts and the F-16 Fighting Falcon. It currently flies the MQ-9 Reaper remotely piloted aircraft. Filmed On December 16, 2015.

Bundy Museum Built at the turn of the last century. The Bundy has been investigated by several teams from around the region. Activity has ranged from apparitions being seen in the 2nd floor window, energy vortexes on the 3rd floor that make t difficult to stand and an uneasy feeling in the African Art exhibit in the basement. The brothers that originally owned the house started the company that would later become IBM.

NY regions present plans for $1.5B in economic funds
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- Seven regions across New York state have made their cases for why they should win part of $1.5 billion in state economic development funds.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo created the contest, which some have dubbed the upstate Hunger Games because they pit one region against another for the funds.
The three regions who submit the best ideas for how to use the money will receive $500 million to carry out their proposals.
Further presentations are scheduled for Wednesday in Albany.
The eligible regions are the Finger Lakes, the Southern Tier, central New York, the Mohawk Valley, the Capital Region, the mid-Hudson Valley, and the North Country.
Western New York isn't eligible because of Cuomo's previous Buffalo Billion initiative.
