Back in November 2013 I encountered this man while visiting the Big Shisa on the Yomitan Peninsula. I had asked him if he'd use my camera to take my picture standing next to the 20+ foot tall monster. After that he sold me a couple of stalks of freshly cut sugar cane. This evening, Feb 24th, 2014, I saw him again but this time I was at Zanpa Beach! He had his familiar little plastic box with sugar cane and got another 100 yen from me. I shook hands, as you'll see, and regretted having given him such a firm grip.

2019 沖繩之旅 travel in okinawa
第一次來到了沖繩，也是第一次在日本自駕
但是也沒有太多不適應，可能是去日本太多次了
就只是去一個沒去過的地方，但卻好像很熟悉
而OTS帥氣小哥哥交車前的行前教學
左轉是轉小彎，右轉是轉大彎
就是這一句話，瞬間讓我打開竅
身體馬上就切換成了右駕模式
去了好好玩的沖繩水族館
看了海豚秀，看了鯨鯊餵食秀
還有好可愛的花園鰻，當然也買了好多紀念品
雖然水族館是芭樂點，但是真的大推啊
真的非常值得來浪費一整天的時間
古宇利島，奧武島，伊計島，浜比嘉島
知念岬，边戶岬，殘波岬
自駕就是能開著車去好多奇怪的地方
去殘波吃了石垣牛燒肉
去前田食堂吃了一碗沖繩軟骨麵
去泡瀨漁港，泊港漁市場吃了好吃的海鮮
冷門的Nirai Kanai橋 觀景台也是很不錯的點
還去買了大家狂推，開店前就要去排隊的吐司
沖繩整體來說，比本島消費便宜一點
而且氣候跟食物都跟台灣非常相近
難怪身邊的朋友三不五時就飛沖繩
然後呢，我有個手機成癮的老木
無時無刻就是在滑手機
無時無刻就是在跟朋友分(ㄒㄩㄢˋ)享(ㄧㄠˋ)
沖繩我是覺得很不錯啦
下次我一定要自己再來玩一次

Amawari was one of the Ryukyu Kingdom's most well-known and treacherous characters.

DYA717 Air & Sea Okinawan Heritage Tour 2015 10 26
The group is back at the Zanpamisaki Hotel so we got the same breakfast buffet. I went rush down at 6:25 a.m. only to find I’m #2 in line. Shucks, then when they opened da door, this girl’s significant other joined her making me #3! Gee, the nerve of those tourists! kekekeke My NATTO breakfast was great as usual. Along da way to our first stop of da morning, da guide went explain that Yomitan has many interesting stuffs – see TIDBITS if interested.
We first went to the Ryukyu Mura which is a very nice museum featuring authentic Okinawan homes and other items assembled in one place. An interesting thing is about da BU-TAs. Yep, dat’s da piggies! If interested, go to TIDBITS but watch out and don’t read dat stuff before you eat because you going lose yo’ appetite. They had a great 20-minute show featuring Okinawan song and dance. I thought dis was da best presentation I’ve seen in a long while. Hope my video catches some of this feeling I had. Remember, dis is my diary I’m letting youse guys read so no complain if you think the program was junk! Our tour group was assigned to one of those special homes and we had a cold tea break with AN-DA-GI. I didn’t feel like eating my AN-DA-GI at dat time so I wrapped it, carried all day and I’m eating it now in my hotel room as I’m typing in my notes for my memories and letting you guys read! MMMMMMMMMM, soooooo ONO! It tasted a little different from da AN-DA-GIs I’ve had so far and far more ONO! Wish I could share it with y’all! kekekekeke And da tea which was a blend of something like 17 or so different flavors kinda tasted medicinal but was ONO.
We drove on to the outskirts of Nago City, into da hills, and went to a restaurant which is called “BIG RESTAURANT” or in Okinawan, U-FU-YA. It is really by its lonesome up in da hills and is a huge establishment consisting of authentic 90+ year old Okinawan homes which they’ve disassembled from da original owner’s site and reassembled on site. There is a restaurant for the small groups of one-sies and two-sies but for the big groups, we got to occupy one of da many houses on da lot for our meal! Wow, such a great treat.
Then we drove through da mountains to get to the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium. We spent a long time at the aquarium. Many of you saw videos already but bear with me cause it’s on da video.
Then after a long drive, we got back to da hotel. I immediately went up to da 13th floor and got a seat in da French Restaurant La Phare. I was da first person there (so what else is new?) in my stinky outfit I wore all day in da hot Okinawan sun and humidity! kekekeke OK, OK, I know somebody going ask what da name of da place mean? PHARE means lighthouse among other things in French I think. Check out da video because I had one excellent set meal which was included in our tour. We actually had a choice of 5 restaurants to go to tonight on our tour coupon. Having to make all these decisions on where to eat can blow your mind because they have all good restaurants at this resort hotel especially if you get only one ticket, one choice.
